2 things that I felt watching that.
1) Aw crap, Active Camo O_o
2) *shudders* That scream.
New Ep. And our favorite Super Soldier is collecting CMOA's like usual...
"You can reply to this Message!"Hunters in the next episode!
So Hastati's lost Dimah, Vickers, and J.J. and Sully's been shot through the leg with a Needler round.
That Elite looked awesome, holy crap O_o. I loved how it did that evil laugh when it was about to kill the rest of Hastati. I hope we get more close-up views of Covenant in the next episode if all of them are like that.
I'm really glad they didn't show Mehaffi's body after the Needler rounds went off, that probably would have been really bad...
I like how they turned a budget constraint (It costs money to show CGI aliens) and turned it into a feature (The elite is cloaked, ratcheting up the intimidation factor). It's like how they filmed the first-person shots in Jaws to compensate for the difficulty of shark effects.
I do think Master Chief should have said "Call me John", if only to be more reassuring; you do not want panicking kids with guns in a war zone.
Forward Unto Dawn makes me wonder, why doesn't Hollywood realize how awesome a Halo movie could be?

Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.That's what I asked on Facebook after watching this. What's wrong, Hollywood?
John is 15 at the point himself, and probably not yet (or not that long) with Cortana...I'd simply say he is sticking to Orders not to reveal more than rank or simply doesn't feel like telling his name to "outsiders"
"You can reply to this Message!"But at the same time he's not Master Chief yet in the strictest sense. He's still a PO2 in 2526.

"Yup. That tasted purple.""Call me Petty Officer Second Class."
"Wait, you're only a what?"
...*cough*...okay, not seriously
And with the "Call me" he is not saying he HAS the rank.
Don't misunderstand me...Its probably a pretty clear example of Continuity Snarl. I'm just spinning around a bit :)
Or simply that somebody figured he'd be more recognizable as "Master Chief" than as "John"...Because Viewers Are Morons...

"You can reply to this Message!"*sigh*
"Yup. That tasted purple."Then again we don't specifically know exactly when he got the MCPO rank.
We do, sort of; it's after 2535, since he's a regular CPO then.
"Yup. That tasted purple."I'm pleasantly surprised with the series so far.
Except for the somewhat-forced/contrived kiss Lasky and Silva had. But whatever, they're teenagers.
Super impressed with the production values. Though both Deliver Hope and We Are ODST set pretty high bars for that.
Good lord they're pale.
Spooky.Noooooo, Chyler! T_T
But still, that entire thing was awesome from start to finish :D Very high quality, can't wait for the game to come out.
Love how they leave him to face the first Hunter, and when he catches up a bit later, all he says is "Can you spare some ammo". So badass.
Also, totally called Chyler dying. As far back as Part 3, I was telling people "Mark my words, Susan's not gonna make it". Wonder why that needle shard didn't shatter, though.

Borne By StormsManufacturer fuck-up, of course. :P But they'll work it out after the Prophets hang a few subcontractors by their entrails in the center of High Charity.
28 Times Supreme Champion of the World Whosball SeriesI was actually dreading a horrible death by needle shattering, but it turned out her fate was the much more mundane "death by stabbing".
Chief got a real fatality on that Hunter.
Also, I like how Laskey's heroic moment was still something that fit his flaws and personality.
Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.Running off and disobeying orders?
My brother saw the whole thing today. He liked it, said just getting to see Kelly and Fred's faces at the end was worth it.
Yeah, I showed some friends, and they actually started getting interested in the story.
It's kinda funny, I know basically everything about Halo lore, but one friend of mine (who isn't really a gamer, but still) asked me "Wait, so Halo has a story?"
Borne By StormsSingle needles explode? I thought they only did that when there was enough of them.
I love how pale the Spartans are. And the slightly-off eyes. And the scars.
Single needles don't explode, but they do shatter after a time, from what I recall...
Though it could be said that the shattering effect is because of the movement of the person hit... And not an element of design...
You didn't spoilertag nearly enough of that sentence. Someone could figure out what happens by reading the unmarked part.
A fistful of me.the series has, in the end, rekindled my interest in the Halo (extended) Universe. The main problem is that whenever I think of reading books from it again I have to think of who writes them at the time and the interest dies messily...

Clip from Ep 4
Haven't seen the episodes yet but I should soon. Sounds pretty good from you guys.
