I so hope the picture of Lily and Jace is going to end up on a cardgrin Although i have no idea what that card would do "A nice date: Exile two humanoid Planeswalker you control until end of turn. When they enter the battlefield again put another Planeswalker from your hand onto the battlefield and destroy one of the original two."tongue

Here's my favorite line from today's Uncharted Realms:

The Living Guildpact rules that coffee is an acceptable substitution for rest, as specified in subsection . . . whatever.

And coffee shops all over Ravnica rejoiced, I literally lol'ed, and didn't even wait to finish reading the story before adding it to the Must Have Caffeine quotes page.

As someone mentioned in Reddit...Jace X Lili is like Male Mage Warden X Morrigan. She potentially screws you over if you pursue her romance path, but then lo and behold you still chase after her, afterwards, simply because you "almost died", rather than "died"! tongue

I'm reading this because it's interesting. I think. Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot, over.

[up][up][up] I know that this is just for convenience's sake, likely, but the vorthos in me has to bring up the question of whether the spark is hereditary to any degree. Which I think is a no.

And I guess whether planeswalkers can somehow give birth in a single turn of combat.

Actually, on second thought, I have yet to read the UR yet, so that might not at all be what happens, especially since one... leaves? Dies? What, did she kill jace and cause an evil planeswalker baby to emerge from his remains? Now I really have to read it, I guess.

[up] Spoiler: Gideon shows up mid-date and tells Jace that Sea Gate has fallen. This rather ruins the mood.

Then Jace actually gets Gideon to agree have someone fix him up and take some rest since he needs time to arrange for his trip to Zendikar.

Sorry for double posting, but I have a MTG-themed video that I recently got around to finishing:

EDIT: I can't seem to embed it for some reason, so here's a link to the video instead.

I had one of the most epic matches ever last night. I was playing my Grixis Stealer deck against my friend's Abzan Persist deck. It was a long and grueling game that ended up in massive board stall, with my opponent having two Rendclaw Trows that were constantly growing thanks to two Wall of Reverence and a Cradle of Vitality, as well as a Heartmender. On my side of the field, I had two Scuttlemutts, a Viscera Seer, a Puppeteer Clique, and one of my opponent's Heartmenders that I stole with a Breaking & Entering. My opponent's creatures were reaching double-digit power and toughness and his life total had reached triple-digits, but his library was getting quite small.

My only hope was to stall him out until he ran out of cards, but my own field of blockers was starting to wear thin, even with the Puppeteer Clique constantly coming back thanks to the Heartmender I stole and the Viscera Seer I sacrificed the Clique to so it wouldn't die to Wither and not come back. But then I drew the final land I needed to cast Hedonist's Trove and exile his well-stocked graveyard and get myself a steady supply of blockers. A few turns later, I played a Jace's Mindseeker which got rid of exactly enough cards to empty his library.

I ended up losing the best-of-three match due to losing the round before and after this, but that was definitely one of the most memorable games of Magic I've played.

Today in "silly things that should happen" - Duel Decks: TAMIYO vs NARSET.

Each of them justifies her position on a rational and mathematical basis while giving the other a fair hearing and reach a position of mutual agreement.

[up] That would be rather silly. tongue

[up][up] I, meanwhile, had a commander game where I played the pre-constructed White Nahiri deck in a 4-player game and, after the first elimination, all three of the remaining players got to well over 100 life, which was all for naught once a Temur Biorhythm shaman took effect. Among the other hilarious moments were when I used a Comuppance on a player who successfully ulted Nissa and sent his army of basic land creatures at me.

The game went for well over two hours, but none of us really minded since we all were having so much fun.

A commander game that didn't last at least an hour and a half probably wasn't worth playing.

I once had an EDH game where thanks to another player's Zhur-Taa Ancient (I think that's what it's called), I promptly took over the board with a ton of Treefolk and Saprolings. Cue Damnation from another player. I managed to bounce back a bit, but ended up losing to player 4, who ran Derevi.

I don't play a lot of Commander, but as a predominately Black/Color player, any game that lasts an hour and a half sounds like it got boring at some point to me. <.<

The longest game I've ever played was my WB Persist/Kill deck against another player's mono-black Kill deck, and the reason it lasted nearly the entire hour and through 2/3 of our decks is because nobody could keep a creature on the board.

...then again, my old WU Millfolk deck did run long when it got matched up against a blue player.

Most of our 4-player Commander games go about 45 minutes or so. Anything significantly longer than that is the result of someone taking turns that are way too long (and then getting heckled and flustered).

Got myself a box of Origins today. Had a foil Chandra and a regular Jace in it, which was pretty neat. Other legends included Dwynen and Alhammaret or however the hell you spell it.

Made a Tiny Leaders deck for Chandra, since it only seemed too right to do.

I was only able to afford two booster packs, my girlfriend gave me two for my bday. My 4 rares are two Mage-Ring Responders (the two from her lol), a Honored Hierarch, and Exquisite Firecraft. I at least got a foil from them, but not a rare, it's Angel's Tomb.

I'm reading this because it's interesting. I think. Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot, over.

Bought an Origin booster today. Got: Pia and Kiran Nalaar, a Thopter Engineer, a Reclusive Artificer and a Ghiarapur Gearcrafter. I already had a Thopter Engineer and a Reclusive Artificer from the deck builder's toolkit I bought earlier, so I suppose this is fate telling me to build a Thopter deck.

My mate who went to Comic-Con dropped off the black-on-black Origins planeswalkers! So pretty!

And if anyone is curious, the book that comes with it has the origin stories as per the Mothership, but presented all fancy with fold-out art pages and stuff.

It always alarms me when I find a card that is a stark upgrade from another card in the same set. I've gotten used to cards getting upgraded over time as Power Creep, but within the same set?

In this case, it's Ringwarden Owl and Soulblade Djinn, the latter of which is an objectively superior version of the former despite the exact same cost.

I forget that sometimes Wizards deliberately depowers Commons.

It was like that since the beginning of Magic. See Gray Ogre, Sedge Troll, Granite Gargoyle, and Uthden Troll, with other examples at different costs.

[up][up] sometimes? It's more like each rarity is designed to be better than the ones lower than it and any good commons are accidental.

Rare is for both powerful cards and complex cards. Which is why you occasionally get shitty rares.
