So, a good deal of people like to add stuff to grilled cheese sandwiches other than cheese (though whether or not the result can actually be called a grilled cheese sandwich is debatable). Do you like to add stuff to them, or do you prefer them straight, no chaser?

Personally, I like mine with guacamole, or if I can't get any of that, then with mustard.

Ham, but then it's really a ham and cheese sandwich.

Adding ketchup to the bread before it's grilled gives it a really great taste, and I like to adding some oregano or basil as well.

Tomato paste and possibly ham. Then it's kind of like pizzas.

Or bolognaise sauce with mince.

I add oregano to the butter. Gives the outside of the bread a really nice taste. And sometimes I will put a slice of tomato in them.

I also prefer to use cheeses other than the American singles processed stuff; I especially like grilled cheese made with provolone or muenster.

Ham. Turkey. Oregano. Bacon.

Also, if it has less than three kinds of cheese in it you are doing it wrong.

I usually eat it plain, but ham, tomato paste, and bacon are sometimes added into the mix.

Grilled cheese, you say?

Seriously, though, I usually have them with turkey ham and tomato, though I sometimes mix it up with some tuna fish.

It's weird. I like slices of tomato on my grilled cheese, but I really don't like tomato in macaroni and cheese.

The best sandwich I ever ate was a grilled ham and cheese sandwich that I had mushrooms, mozzarella cheese, and bacon added to. All that made it super expensive compared to most cafeteria food, so I didn't get it much.

One of the few edible things? That... doesn't sound enticing at all.

I just have it as is. Some of the suggestions above sound tasty, though. Others sound nasty, like ketchup, which is apparently a thing in Canada. Apparently, they also use it on macaroni and cheese, the very idea for me is just stomach-turning. I thought it was just a gross-out joke from Kids In The Hall.

In Mac and Cheese I understand,...but against it in Grilled Cheese? You must hate Cheeseburgers with Ketchup then,..can't imagine a cheeseburger without it.

Actually while I'm at it,....by Mac and Cheese do you mean the Kraft stuff, or legit Mac and Cheese?

I'm with Banana. I like ketchup, but it's not my condiment of choice for a grilled cheese sandwich.

I like grilled cheese with ketchup. Or tomato soup.I don't like putting things in the sandwich itself, though. I know at my school they sometimes serve it with chicken noodle soup, which is weird.
