Ahh, Rock Raiders and Lego Racers.
Artificial Intelligence is no match for Natural Stupidity.I didn't like Lego Island 2 all that much, but I loved Lego Racers 2.
"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelMany a night I spent digging in Lego Rock Raiders.
Very big Daydream Believer. "That's not knowledge, that's a crapshoot!" -Al Murray "Welcome to QI" -Stephen FryRock Raiders was a gem of game design, but lacking on the technical side and rather glitch-prone (and several features seemed to be only half-implemented). LEGO Racers (the original one) was elegant simplicity. The original LEGO Island had a charming storyline and cast of characters, but was almost unplayable. The others were pretty sub-par. I would rate the new adaptation games (at least those that i have played) much higher on all counts.

<><Did anyone here beat Rock Raiders? I never saw the ending and can' find it on Youtube.
Artificial Intelligence is no match for Natural Stupidity. My mother did. She says it wasn't easy. But the ending is beyond her memory.
I will say, the AI for the rock raiders was idiotic, choosing the longest possible routes for everything.

Very big Daydream Believer. "That's not knowledge, that's a crapshoot!" -Al Murray "Welcome to QI" -Stephen FryI think I did, but I'm not 100% sure. I got pretty close if I didn't. The trick is to take advantage of the couple levels after you get access to all the buildings but before everything is on a ticking lava time-bomb, then deliberately delay completion while you put all your little rock raiders through intense training. Having every rock raider be a miniature monster-shooting truck-driving hovercar-flying hero with several PH Ds makes the later levels go much more smoothly.
<><Sadly, my copy of the game is lost, so guess I'll never see it :(.
Artificial Intelligence is no match for Natural Stupidity.Legoland. Ye gods, Legoland. So many hours of my childhood poured into that game. So much fun!
Join us in our quest to play all RPG video games! Moving on to disc 2 of Grandia!I think the only one I ever really played was LEGO Racers. It was fun, but I think the adaptation games are much better.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."I wish I had gotten further into Legoland....
Artificial Intelligence is no match for Natural Stupidity.I had LEGO Island and LEGO Creator Knight's Kingdom for the PC and LEGO Rock Raiders for the PS 1.
I might fire up that last one again at some point.
"Yup. That tasted purple."The only game I had was Lego Island. I found it fun, but I don't think that was really a good game. Also it's very noticable that it's a rather early 3D game and I'm not talking about the graphics.
But I guess it wasn't bad as the first Lego video game.

People aren't as awful as the internet makes them out to be.I had the first Lego Creator. It was quite fun to build stuff with it, then drive some cars around. Sadly, the more you worked on your city, the worse the loading times would get.
I loved blowing things up in Lego Creator.

I figured I'd make a thread about the Lego games they had before they started all these licensed games. I'm talking about classics like Lego Island, Lego Racers, Rock Raiders, etc. When I was a kid, I made a point to get every Lego game that came out, and I still have them all. The adaptation Games are alright, but they aren't nearly as great.
