I had no idea such a genre existed. That's an extremely fun song and video you posted.
I have actually made electro swing in the past*, but that's not really relevant here.
Anyway, I like Caravan Palace.

the cat got skinned again!WHERE HAS THIS THREAD BEEN? I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR IT.
This type of music is awesome, though I am getting tired of a few Parov Stelar songs.
I honestly don't like most of Parov's stuff. He samples a lot of the same sounds and nothing really stands out, except for Catgroove really, which is really, really good.
I prefer Caravan Palace and just about all accounts.
I'm pretty sure the concept of Law having limits was a translation error. -WanderlustwarriorIt occurs to me that some of the tracks from the Verve Remixed compilation series might be of interest to you lot.
Kind of unrelated, but speaking of the awesomeness of Catgroove, you guys seen takeSomeCrime dance to that shit? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=twqM56f_cVo Bloody amazing.
On the topic of Caravan Palace, I'm really feeling the Panic album, favourite songs on it being 'Clash' and 'Rock it for me'.
Caravan palace is actually touring the US right now. Man I'd love to see them.
Go play Kentucky Route Zero. Now.Awesome! More people with a taste for great music . I had a couple songs before, but never really knew there was an entire genre of them before I took a look at Glasmond's Human Pinkie-Pie askblog . "Bad Boy, Good Man (Feat. Henrik Wager)" by Tape Five remains a personal favorite, only helped by this short AMV where it is fittingly paired with Sakamichi No Apollon.
Electro swing? Hell no. If I want swing, I'll listen to swing, not some cheap knockoff made by people who think all music needs a thudding electronic beat in order to be interesting.
Mache dich, mein Herze, rein...Gee, why don't you tell us how you really feel? >_>
I love Caravan Palace.
I never really knew the genre existed (seems to be a theme), but my brother introduced me and I really quite like it.

Crow: There's a plot?I was going to make an Electro Swing thread. I saw the vaporwave thread but didn't think electro swing had a thread. It seems more niche than its contemporaries. Electroswing seems to be becoming more popular lately, though.
guys. Guys. GUYS
Huh, that doesn't work half bad.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Late, but thanks for the discovery. That mashup should never work, and yet.
I saw Caravan Palace in live ten years ago, they were great - but their show was shortened because during this festival the previous (and horrible) singer had lost time by inviting a (also horrible) rapper to sing.
So thanks, now rap & CP don't have a negative association in my mind anymore.

Wow this is an old thread. I actually got to perform an electroswing dance routine to Caravan Palace's "Lone Digger" with my uni's art club last year. I'm... honestly a bit sick of their brand of electroswing at this point, and much prefer listening/dancing to regular swing jazz, but I still dig Jamie Berry's stuff a lot. If you're more of an easy listener type and find most electroswing off-putting, I'd also recommend the amazingly chill Boogie Belgique, who put up all their output for free download on their site.
Echoing hymn of my fellow passerine | Art blog (under construction)The only electro swing song I've heard is "We No Speak Americano".
Hey.
So I've checked by a few times on this subforum, and I still have never seen an electro swing thread; not a mention or even a band. So I figure I should check to make sure I'm not alone on this forum.
For those of you who don't know or can't tell from the obvious title, electro swing is exactly what it sounds like: electric music with a swing or jazz feel. It exploded over in Europe, and is slowly making its way into American music. Just the other day, I heard Parov Stelar's "Chambermaid Swing" (I think that was it) playing for a wine or champagne commercial. Slowly but surely, this classy, 1920's meets 2000's music is picking up steam.
My favorite band of this genre would, hands-down, be Caravan Palace. Originating as a bunch of musicians that played for French pornos, they got together and made it big in France with their self-titled album, featuring extremely catchy and popular songs like Suzy and Brotherswing. Their next album, Panic, focuses more on the electronic appeal, but is still fantastic in its own right.
Tell me what you guys think. I hope you guys enjoy this unique take on swing music.
