Kit gave the musician a flirtacious smile. "Thank you, I appreciate the compliment." She said, looking him up and down. While she wasn't used to his style of dress, she was still very interested. "And I must say, I haven't seen someone in my world quite like you, sad to say. Or heard anything as interesting as that music." She said. Doltur rolled his eyes, but looked over at Adel.

"Don't worry, she doesn't bite. Can't promise she doesn't have fleas, however." He said.

Courtyard

This new way of navigating the courtyard was paying off slightly better than simply running like the dickens. Rachel paused again to remove more leaves from her toeclaws - although the rain wasn't as much of a problem, plant matter still stuck to her legs like flies attracted to fly paper.

The building she was standing next to now looked more like more dormitories than anything that would have labs in it. Actually, she wondered if this campus actually had a science building, and if that building was operational if it existed. She figured she might as well keep up the search - she might leave with some valuable knowledge about the P-virus.

Even though you're not built to be a scientist, she told herself. That was somewhat true - even before the P-virus stepped in, she wasn't planning on choosing science as a career. It just wasn't one of her strong suits. So how well she could actually operate the equipment between that and her physical state was still somewhat up in the air.

As she looked through the pouring rain, trying to find what her next destination was, she caught sight of a building that looked quite different from the buildings surrounding it. Judging by the curved top, she guessed it might have been an auditorium. Certainly a far cry from a science building, but auditoriums did have soft seats. Perhaps it would give her the peace that the library failed to deliver.

With this new course in mind, she worked her way towards the auditorium. The science lab could wait; getting her nerves together was her main priority now.

Adel’s mind felt slightly numb. Flustered as she was, it took her a second to pick up on the smile the man sent her way. Normally it would have been attention-worthy but in light of all the other far more pressing things to consider, it rated as barely a blip across her consciousness.

She worked her jaw. “Yeah, no, I’m fine.” A blatant lie. Her expression alone spoke to how nonplussed she was. She decided to run it through her head again, in words, just to make sure she had the situation straight. There was apparently a fox-human hybrid, apparently from another dimension, apparently actually standing right in front of her right now. Right.

And that wasn’t the half of it. This bard character-

Lady. He had called the fox-woman Lady Remoon.

She shook her head, caught somewhere between disbelief and amusement. Before you know it, he’d challenge someone to a duel!

Having become aware she was staring off into space, Adel refocused her attention to Kit and after a couple undignified seconds of making various interrogative noises, managed to point to her ears and ask, “Th- those aren’t implants, are they?”

She winced again. If they were- well, it spoke to a certain measure of dedication, at least…

Kit shook her head. "No. They are mine, I was born with them. I'm a half breed, if that clears anything up for you." Kit said. Complete confusion was honestly much better than what she was used to.

The musician gave a polite nod to the newcomer in the suit, then returned his attentions back to Kit. "My thanks for the compliments, both towards my art and myself, Lady Relmoon. My ego does so enjoy being fed, but then, who does not delight in kind words and light banter? Save, perhaps, the most sad and doomed."

Then he saw Doltur's reaction to his light flirtations, and said to him, "oh, my apologies if I have caused you envy. To ignore a handsome young man such as yourself... how ever could I do such a thing?" He flashed Doltur the same smile he'd given Kit and Adel, then added, "but of course, young Sir Balthen, if you would rather I leave you in peace, you have but to say the word and I shall do so. I am not one to pursue that which I cannot hope to catch for its own sake, not when the world is so full of other delights."

Finally, he turned to Adel and laughed merrily. He said, "oh, come now! 'Twas hardly a proper thing to ask a woman!" His wink made it clear he knew she was talking about her ears, however. Then he said, "but my jests aside... well, you make such assumptions. But there are more things in heaven and earth, young lady, than are dreamt of in your philosophy."

Auditorium

One quick jaunt through the rain, and Rachel soon had made it into the auditorium. She was still somewhat wet, but unlike the library this place was actually quite warm. She'd be perfectly fine settling into here until the storm boiled over - if anything, she felt safer here than the library and dorms.

As she had suspected, this was indeed an auditorium. Rows of seats sat arranged before a stage, where a musician of some sort was speaking with the human/fox woman from earlier, plus another human woman who looked somewhat battle-ready and an elderly Japanese gentleman. None of them looked particularly malevolent - okay, she was somewhat wary of the battle-ready female, but even then she looked nowhere near as crazy as the woman with the sword.

Rachel found herself a seat close enough to the group so that she could have a good look at them and hear what they were saying, but far enough away so she wouldn't attract attention. After finding a seat that fit her conditions, she sat down, leaned back, and folded her arms over her stomach. She decided that it was her best interest to keep to her "speak only if spoken to" policy - even though the presence of the fox-woman probably made her appearance far less jarring, the fact remained that she was an infected, and infected didn't have a particularly good reputation.

Doltur frowned, eyebrows raised. Kit snorted, and started giggling behind her hand.

"You left Doltur speechless. You deserve a medal for that." She said. Doltur finally regained his composure.

"You have it wrong, I'm not envious. Me and her, not involved. And I wouldn't mind being left out." Doltur said, his normal sarcasm left behind.

Kit saw the two new arrivals, and gave them both a wave. Doltur regarded the man without saying anything, but did nod to acknowledge the woman.

"If you don't mind me asking, what is your name?" Kit asked Adel. The girl was certainly attractive, but Kit didn't want to scare her off or anything.

Nathan finally closed the book and left it on the table. He got out his chair and walked out of the library. He figured he stayed in there long enough, especially with everything that had ensued. He couldn't wait to tell his little brother what happened.

[Auditorium]

The moment he stepped in, he saw more people, one of them he already recognized-Rachel. For an abandoned school, it sure did attract a ton of people. Sitting in an empty seat, the twenty-year-old man pulled out his cellphone. He still wasn't connected. He sighed.

Looks like I have to text Adam later. He thought.

Only just having realized what she had said, and how it could have been misinterpreted, Adel stumbled over apologies before lapsing into the Bard’s laughter. This is ridiculous. Despite the situation, or perhaps because of it, she couldn’t help but let a self-effacing grin tug at the edges of her mouth. In the back of her mind she thought, Fantastic. Now the Bard’s quoting Shakespeare at me.

Shaking her head, more to dispel her levity now than to express disbelief, she looked over to Kit and answered as best she could. “I- my name’s Adel. Well, full name’s Adeline Falk, but you can call me Adel.”

She ran a hand through her sandy, unkempt hair, flattening out the frizz that had followed her out of bed. She wore it short on all sides, the fringe poking only slightly out over her eyes.

To Doltur, the musician said, "you are understood, good sir. I shall pester you no more, though to the fine Lady Relmoon... well, it seems she finds my talk more to her taste."

Then the musician's smile widened further, to one of near ecstasy, as he enjoyed the conversation as one would a symphony. He scanned the back rows, and then, with a sweeping gesture, said, "ah, but more come! I seem to have attracted an audience! What more could a performer like myself possibly ask for?" He chuckled merrily, then motioned again. "Come now," he said, "those of you still lingering within the shadows of this place! You, of the fine suit! You, fair young woman! You, toying with your phone! Come now, we do not seek to make outcasts! Come and join us, please! The more the merrier, as they say!"

Rina slipped away after a while to go look for the library. It also occurred to her she could change to her other three friends any time now and should update on the notebook.

Found the university, so should we like find information in the library? She written in it then put it back in her bag.

The library was amazingly huge. Rina would be surprised if she can't find what she's looking for here. Who knows, maybe she'll some other great stories for herself later and also manga(yay). But there's important research that takes priority.

Rina wasn't alone in the library either. She saw some people burning those Twilight books but decided to stay out of it. It might have been fun before she got sick of it a year ago.

She also made another entry in the notebook, Also there are other people here who only just came to this university from being lost or something. Other than that it seems abandoned with no students or teachers around.

While finding science and occult books, she saw another girl(Scout) reading a manga and yaoi no less. Rina couldn't make out which story it is and tried to resist getting distracted. But curiosity took over and she sneaked behind the girl peering at the manga, "hmm?"

"Yes she does. You have quite the silvery tongue, I must say." Kit said, clearly pleased with the attention, her tail wagging. "It's rare I find someone like you, and it's always a great treat. But I must ask, do you really find me attractive, given my...odd form?"

"Fine with me." Doltur said. He looked over at Rachel, and decided why not? He walked over to her, and sat down nearby, but not right next to her. "You were in the library, correct? I don't think we had a proper introduction there."

Rachel was about to doze off when the musician below beckoned all of the people far off down. She still had her suspicions about the woman who looked somewhat battle-ready, but the fox-woman made Rachel look ordinary in comparison.

More importantly, the musician had referred to her as "fair young woman." She was mildly amused by that. Apparently, distance really did matter when trying to hide one's infected status. Then again, there was that guy from earlier she talked to face-to-face and he didn't even seem to notice. Maybe the people around these parts were just rather oblivious?

Even so, she kept her claws behind her back as she walked down. While she still looked rather different compared to a normal human thanks to her pale, off-white skin and washed-out looking green eyes, her claws and lack of usable thumbs were probably the things that most people would be unnerved the most by.

On her way down, she noticed that the crew had been joined by the person she'd spoken to earlier. From what she could remember, his name was Nathan and he was apparently a proper student here...that last part didn't make a whole lot of sense. Wasn't this university supposed to be abandoned?

After she reached the bottom, she positioned herself somewhat away from the rest of the group, hands still held behind her back. Apart from the signs of infection, she otherwise looked like a typical teenage female of mostly German ancestory, with her straight black hair indicating some sort of Japanese descent. Rachel didn't expect them to wonder about her ethnicity, though - her infection would make sure of that.

Her attempt at remaining somewhat standoffish didn't go over too well - the human from the human/fox pairing was apparently interested in formally introducing himself. Well, so much for that.

"My name is Rachel Pahlke. I got here through some dimensional fluke or something... I'm still trying to find that out," she said, parroting the information she told Nathan earlier. Given that this particular person was partnered with a fox, she doubted that he cared much about her infected status, although she kept her hands behind her back regardless.

The musician chuckled at Kit and said, "do not fear, good Lady. I must confess, the physical aspect is not, in fact, a part of my interests. The base act of sex is..." he waved dismissively. "Well, I do derive some enjoyment from it. But unlike my obsessed youngest brother, I find it rather overrated. It is time not spent upon more cerebral forms of entertainment. As such, I care only for the wit and soul of those with whom I flirt and banter. So if you ask if I find your body attractive..." he tapped his chin thoughtfully. "In a manner of speaking, I suppose I do. But not sexually in the traditional sense. Simply as one appreciates any work of art, be it crafted by man or nature. I hope my answer does not offend."

"No, not in the slightest. It's still a vast step up from what I'm used to, as that's usually a bit more...harsh. I could say I'm disappointed, but that's not important. I'm simply enjoying this conversation, and for now, that's enough for me." Kit said.

"Doltur Balthen, pleased to meet you." He said, bowing. "I would not know how you got here. I know it was Lady Gaera who got us here, but I'm guessing the goddess had nothing to do with you."

But he didn't want to be rude and keep staring at her. He quickly turned his head away, waiting for her to finish her introduction with Rachel.

Goddesses. Animal people. Flaming swords that were apparently fueled by burning books. Yes, this definitely wasn't Kansas anymore. Granted, Rachel thought that being caught in the middle of a zombie outbreak - or actually being one of said zombies, for that matter - would lessen her grip on reality a bit. However, at least P-virus infectees could somewhat be explained by science. This place was a whole different matter.

"Er, yes indeed." she responded, definitely not used to having people bow when greeting her. "I'm honestly starting to wonder if I'm even on Earth anymore, what with all the supernatural stuff flying around."

She took another look around. The musician, apparently, had no problems with appearances - he was comfortably conversing with the fox-woman like such a sight was completely ordinary for him. Certainly, her status as an infected probably wasn't going to bother him at all.

Come to think of it, she had to wonder if no one bothered pointing out her oddities because they just didn't care. Here she was, trying to keep her infected status somewhat a secret (although her cover was easily blown just by looking behind her or at her feet), and it's possible it was just a waste of energy.

Well, there was still that battle-ready looking woman to worry about - given her reactions to the fox-woman, she looked like she would definitely have a more adverse reaction to an infected. Given her appearance, Rachel wouldn't be surprised if she had dealt with infected-like beings before. Hopefully though, the answer to that question would come soon.

Come to think of it, Rina can't make out if the manga really was yaoi. Would any university library have those. While sneaking closer to the manga she was thinking, maybe it's some picture of Naruto and Sasuke. Those always look like yaoi.

But whether the manga really was yaoi or not, Rina never found out. In an instant there was a poof of white smoke and standing in Rina's place was Ian. An older and taller boy with messy hair and a mullet.

"Okay I f#@ing had it with this!" Ian lost his temper and started ranting. Catching the attention of everyone else. "I keep going off to do my own thing and get zapped to some random places like hotels mountains and libraries! And WHERE ARE THOSE *$%# BRATS!"

He kicked a shelf over. "I bet this is a joke all three of them are in on. Probably all Prisha's idea!"

Then he noticed everyone else in the library and hoped he didn't bother them too much, "Uh sorry."

Doltur smiled. "Trust me, I know the feeling. Up until a few months ago, politics and magic were things I stayed pleasurably out of. And then I got wrapped up in both, completely through no fault of my own. And since we aren't on Animus anymore, I have to tell you, you probably aren't on Earth anymore." He looked her over. She was pale, and honestly, did not look particularly healthy. Doltur didn't have much in the way of tact, but even he didn't want to bring up possible illness to someone who might be sick. Unless it was the plague, he'd be fine letting it lie.
