Thinking about that line of logic, wouldn't Circium have a bit of a overpopulation problem at some point?

Basic schooling is available to Circium's general population. I imagine that gets you up to about 100 before you kick the bucket. The more you study the subject, and the more powerful you are, the longer you can live.

Really, though, you might be over-thinking things. This is not a test of individual endurance, after all. I really doubt anyone's going to be aging significantly during the course of this thread.

@wikkit: You'll need an excuse to visit the Border if you want to join the Gaang. If you don't want to be in the Gaang, then I suggest you find other P Cs to join up with, because I don't fancy cramming a million sub-headers into each post. XD

@Chubert: Try to be vague when referring to Circium's religion. Theologies take a lot of work to create, and I'd like to get started before we add too many more details to the world. For now, though, your interpretation will do.

Oh, and as for the "revolution", a couple of Border towns sounds good. But just a couple.

Cool. I'll make it less of a civil war and more of a localized, guerrilla uprising.

Name: Weston Centrich

Age: 16

Appearance: A skinny young man with often messy, red hair and bright, green eyes. He tends to sport a raggedy, old set of brown overalls with a blue shirt, both of which are covered in grease and oil stains both new new and old.

Faction/Nation: Border

Experience: New Mechanic

Specialization: Technological Enhancement of Magic

Personality: Somewhat headstrong, very persistent, but generally very happy-go-lucky. Prone to brief periods of chronic depression, usually followed by a full recovery and boosted enthusiasm. Can be very protective of those closest to him.

Bio/A Brief History of You: Born to a family of middle-class mechanics, Weston's father moved the family from Anilix's island to the mainland's Border in an attempt to escape the smog after he developed lung problems. Although his parents were apprehensive about living so close to Circium, Weston adapted quickly, and was too young to understand the prejudices of either side, quickly making friends with a young mage girl of about the same age. Weston's father's lung condition killed him within a few years, before the family could afford new ones, throwing the family into financial problems as his mother's job was barely enough to support them. Thanks to the support of their neighbours, and Weston's own persistence, they managed to save up enough money to buy a small shop for Weston, allowing him to work as a handyman for his small town.

Weston lives near Weist town, and, sharing similar interests with her, often looks to Rebecca Weistrand for advice and inspiration, sometime sharing ideas with her as well (if that's okay with you, daltar).

Name: Selia Onius

Age: 16

Appearance: Short brown hair, brown eyes, prefers simple clothing and often dresses conservatively, hiding an appreciable figure.

Faction/Nation: Circium, but deeply sympathetic to the Border.

Experience: New Caster

Specialization: Elemental - Fire Magic

Personality: A shy girl, often very quiet and reserved, tends to prefer the company of books to the company of others. She lives modestly and was taught to appreciate what she had and shun excess. Pious, but very tolerant of other beliefs. She tends to be very cautious.

Bio/A Brief History of You: The child of a lower-class family, Selia's father was a very pious man who raised her to make the best of their economically unfortunate situation and to thank the Gods that their situation wasn't worse. She lived a simple, largely uneventful childhood, doing well in school and dreaming of one day becoming an artist. Her world was turned upside down when her mother, a healer, was killed by an insane man who accused her of raising the dead. Deeply hurt by the loss of his wife, Selia's father bought a new home at the Border, far from her mother's grave. A short time before they could move, however, he was accused of theft, put on trial, and eventually, sentenced to ten years in prison, while his daughter was given to foster parents. He was killed five years into his sentence.

Nevertheless, Selia's foster parents were kind, progressive people, and raised her as their own, teaching her tolerance and pen-mindedness. Eventually, they moved to the border, as Selia's father had planned to do, and quickly integrated into the close-knit community of their Border-town, welcoming the multicultural environment. This was also where she met Weston Centrich, and they became fast friends. As Selia grew up and became more independent, her foster parents took jobs elsewhere, often having to leave Selia alone for many months at a time. She doesn't seem to mind, however, and knows that her neighbours would look after her if she really needed them to.

Selia's developed a crush on Weston as they grew up together, though he doesn't know that yet. As a result, they spend an increasing amount of time together, with her often helping him with his experiments by being the "magic" half of his attempt to enhance magic with technology... Even if the results are sometimes explosive. She also doesn't support an actual merger of Anilix and Circium, but does believe that cooperation would be in everyone's best interest.

Selia suffers from a rare genetic condition that weakens the arteries around her heart, making it very dangerous for her to physically exert herself for very long. Weston is determined to buy her a mechanical heart so she no longer has to worry about dying after a long run.

(THERE! That's all my characters done! ... Any idea for what we should name the thread when we're ready to launch? I'm open to suggestions.)

Sorcery and Steam, perhaps? Maybe?

Hrmmm, not so totally good with me.

My character doesn't play well with others. Having to join up with others and be apart of a specific "group" and do specific objectives inhibits me. Sorry.

I'll have to think about this one.

@Saturn: Well, like I said, this is not a sandbox for you to do whatever in. And if you keep your character alone and separate, geographically, from the others, then I have to give you special treatment to keep you included, and that's not fair for anyone. :/

If you don't want to be a part of a group, you could at least stay in the same general area as some other characters. That way, you (probably) won't have to miss out on any major events that affect the other players. Theoretically, anyway.

Saturn, you could always have your character join others for some reason other than companionship. Like, money or glory or something.

I was going to go with something along the lines of "Steampunk Circe", seeing as I named her after the sorceress from Roman mythology, but we'll see. lol

I always think it's better to keep naming consistent between the signup and everything else.
