I could totally see a "Return of the Lizard" storyline in Florida (iirc, that's where the Connors moved, isn't it?). It'd be a good way to get Peter back in touch with them as characters, the swamps of Florida would make a great location for a fight with the Lizard, and it might even give the Connors some relief (Maybe Curt gains control of the transformation and uses it to fight another supervillain). Not to mention that other guy who went on vacation there, incognito...
The episode could even be a Breather Episode with Spidey as a background character as Flash tries to deal with his newfound powers (While ignoring the Symbiote, because it really can't make him hate Spidey).
There aren't many other characters who could interact with the Symbiote. Spidey's arc is definitely done. Eddie is finished. There really isn't anything to do with his character. I liked how the show did him, but he can't really turn into an anti-hero like the Venom from the comics or 90's series, because he's not sympathetic at all. Out of the existing villains, it'd preferably be one without some crazy superpower and who still has some development potential, and there's not many of those. And for supporting cast members, the only one besides Flash that I could see working with the Symbiote is Harry, who would really just be a repeat of Eddie.
Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.I've always thought a Symbiote plus Black Cat combination might be interesting.
I wonder what would happen with John Jameson- for one thing, I do think Jonah would probably be involved in creating Scorpion in revenge for what happened to his son- it would make his earlier Never My Fault reaction even worse- But I'd hope John would become sane again. Maybe he could become a heroic Venom?

HodorJohn being a heroic Venom would be great. I forgot about him.
It could actually be a happy ending for both the symbiote and John; the symbiote would end its perpetual obsession with Spidey so that it could enjoy life, while John would finally find sanity and clarity in becoming a hero without being moulded into it by his father.
They fight crime.
I do wonder how J. Jonah would react. I could see a lot of denial.

Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.Looking back on it, with Miles Warren mutating Kraven into a beastman and John Jameson craving the power he had as Colonel Jupiter, the writers might have been setting up a story where Miles mutates John into Man-Wolf. Miles could abuse John's mental instability and access to the Jameson family funds to have him pay for a genetic cocktail similar to Kraven and use him as yet another profitable test-subject.
I agree that it would be nice if John had a happy ending, though, especially for his father's sake. No parent deserves to see their only child, especially one they idolize, sink into insanity.
Man, there's no shortage of characters in this show I want to give happy endings. The series finale would probably be really unsatisfying if it was me writing it. "Everyone lives Happily Ever After, even Miles Warren and Norman Osborn." (Characters who probably deserve, at the very least, A Fate Worse Than Death.)
Admittedly about fifty percent enlightenmentCaveman too.Unfortunately, I
Actually, I would've expected the show to have n And T He Adventure Continues ending no mtter what seeason it stopped at, but there are a few characters I'd expect to have one or another kind of ending.
Harry would probably end the show bitter, if not unstable - had the show continued it's likely he either would have become the Goblin or would have been on the fasttrack to becoming the Goblin. By extension, Liz would probably end up pretty unhappy as well, but perhaps together a bit more optimistically than apart. Most of the villains would probably still be at it by the end, though Tombstone and the like would probably be a lot weaker... I wouldn't be surprised if the series ended with all the major villains in jail and all the little villains scattered around. There was talk of a finale movie of a sort (wherein Gwen would... well...) so I'd guess Norman would return there and supposedly bite the big one.
I see Chronic Villainy in Electro's future, despite how tragic it would be. Much like John in the comics, I'd expect John in the show would get worse before he got better... but would eventually get better and become a hero in his own right.
Sandman would likely continue to waver the line between an Anti-Hero and a Punch-Clock Villain, which is just where we like him and where he'd be happiest.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. It's already been discussed that Harry could easily have become the Goblin, right? Even though Gobby is Normy, Harry did have a high chance of going Goblin. So, as everyone thinks Norman is dead, Harry could be manipulated by Norman to become the Hobgoblin(like in the Ultimate comics) in Normy's stead. How about that?
Honestly, I don't see this version of Harry EVER becoming the Green Goblin in this show. He could end up bitter and creepy, even manipulative like his father in parts, but not to the point of dressing up as the Goblin.
Also, reading all of these theories make me smile, specially after having read and listened to the non-canon Spidey/Gargoyles Crossover Radio Play Greg wrote years ago, which took place after season two.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).If Miles Warren is still around, I fear the Clone Saga would be inevitable.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatCletus Kasady made an appearance earlier in the series, did he not? I'm kind of curious as to how they would manage to pull off Carnage. Apparently the 90s cartoon went with a more watered-down version of him, while Ultimate decided to go with a radically different version. (Correct me if I'm wrong, hasn't read the comics.)
Hobgoblin, no doubt, would have eventually shown up. I wonder if Norman would upset with this "imposter" or not. Heck, would Norman even shown up in Season Three at all?
I feel that the events of the radio play (well, the events ignoring the Gargoyles part) would have happened; Harry trying to get revenge on Spidey while trying to desperately get Peter and Liz back together so Gwen doesn't break up with him. Then Harry gets more bitter and goes to a dark place (maybe has hallucinations) before getting better- if he gets better. (Harry's one of my favorite characters, so I don't want him to cross the Moral Event Horizon. Maybe Kick the Morality Pet to get him back on track, but he always seems like a normal person who life has pushed around a lot and he makes a few bad choices).
In the Ultimate comics, Carnage was a result of Spidey's DNA and ended up killing Gwen before being used to clone her- essentially bringing her back to life. And Gwen had carnage powers for a bit.
My AO3Hobgoblin begins and ends this list. Roderick Kingsley's cameo in the series just begged to have a Hobgoblin arc that indulged in all of the character's epic potential, with Hobgoblin remaining unmasked until a confrontation with a returning Norman Osborn.
I wonder what they would've really done with Hobgoblin, though, that would differentiate him from GG.
In the comics, I remember his identity was a big mystery for a while, but they really played that up with Green Goblin in Spec Spidey.

The last hurrah? Nah, I'd do it again.True. Hobgoblin also had the distinction that he was more of a schemer, while Green Goblin was more of a maniac. Norman was already very much a schemer, and did not show any signs of outright madness (it's possible to interpret him as having similar issues to Harry on the serum, but more subtle - but too subtle for Hobgoblin's "I'm the sane one!" distinction to come into play).
Didn't the Hobgoblin from the comic actually appear as "Mr. Kingsley" in one of the episodes? Actually, from watching that episode, I am almost certain that we saw both him and his twin brother. Notice how in certain scenes he acts much less cool and confident than in others, and he even comments to himself that he's using a bait and switch trick.
Yeah, quite a lot of us caught up on that when it first aired.
It would have been great to see a proper version of the Hobgoblin. I also wanted to see how long until Miles Warren became the Jackal.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).The more time between Warren appearing, him becoming the Jackal, and him breaking out the clones, the better.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatI don't see what's so wrong with the Clone Saga as a concept.
The original saga in the 70's and in the Ultimate comics showed that it can be done well. Not to mention it wouldn't be a straight adaptation anyways, knowing this show.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).Too many bad memories.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatThe Clone Saga is just a dead albatross for the franchise - plenty of good things to work with, certainly, but with enough baggage that clones are almost a Dead Horse Trope in comics in general.
Basically, it's a "nobody's going to use a possibly good idea because the last time it was executed it was done badly" situation.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.But... the last time it was executed was in the Ultimate comics, which was well done and popular. Also, it seemed that with Miles Warren's experiments and lack of ethics it was leading up to it.
My AO3But that's much less well-known than the catastrophe of the main timeline.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatDidn't prevent Weisman from doing the less known 'Eddie as Peter's friend' thing. Or from using Gwen as the primary love interest. Or making Sally Avril more prominent.
My AO3
I've actually put the names of as many Spider Man characters as I could find in a spreadsheet, and I'm currently calculating how many Google hits each gets. I want to try and find the least popular characters and figure out how the show could write them memorably.
Back on topic with the recurring villains we know and love: I'd like Rhino and Sandman to be forced into a team up again, only to find that their priorities are completely incompatible (Rhino seeking revenge on Spider Man versus Sandman's search for "the big score.") It could end with Sandman taking down Rhino and basically renouncing his villain ways.
Admittedly about fifty percent enlightenmentCaveman too.
