The problem is that nothing in that ending says how they actually won; the Woman in the ending doesn't mention the Crucible at all, only that they learned from the previous cycles mistakes. Which could mean a lot of things.
I already mentioned that Bioware did
say how they defeated the Reapers. So no, 'tis not in my mind. You should have read my previous posts more carefully. It comes from some BSN forum posts. I will now search for them.
, here on Twitter
and here on BSN
Liara saying that she hopes the next cycle does not commit the same mistakes as this one, and then they reveal that the next cycle used the Crucible and took one of the Catalyst's choices (unlike Shepard) seems to contain a Take That, Audience!
. Keep in mind that the scene is also triggered by shooting the Starbrat hologram: Shooting him was done in a lot of anti-ending videos prior to the EC being released. One piece of criticism towards the ending was that you were obliged to choose one of the Starkid's options.
Either way, it sounds too much like complaining about endings you don't like to me.
I'm saying that the above counts as a Take That Audience and I made clear that it was just my opinion. I did not say we should add "Goddamn Refuse ending sucks" to the entry. I tried to explain why I think that way, you just called it "whining" and "complaining about endings you don't like" and only said that we don't know what the next cycle used, which I have addressed above. So please, I'm not the one whining.
We should be able to have a discussion without the term "whining" starting to fly around. Focus on the argument, not the person, and all that.
