I'm not seeing it. The description and at least most of the examples seem to be changing wimpy or questionable characters into badasses in an adaptation. I'm not sure what you even mean by feasible. Are there any particular examples you think don't fit?
The very quote itself for instance. Phoenix Wright is still a wimp in that crossover. Essentially the adaptation pretty much just changes the character into something feasible in the new medium, not a badass.
maybe "feasible" is the wrong word? More like "effective"?
Still, I don't see any misuse, so why rename?
Hm... okay, no. Adaptational Badass is about someone who Took a Level in Badass in an adapted work, and was simply weaker and unable to put up a fight in the source material. Your point about the opening quote isn't valid because the guy you mentioned managed to defeat none other than Doctor Doom (wait...) in his debut trailer. While his fighting style is a Mundane Made Awesome version of his courtroom antics, he actually does fight against/alongside characters such as Wolverine, Akuma, Zero, Iron Man and Viewtiful Joe. You could argue that he's a Joke Character (or a Lethal Joke Character) if compared to those guys, but still, his role is that of a way more badass fighter than that of his original appearance, which is exactly what this trope is about.
Last but not least, the "Misuse" argument*. To clarify, this is not misuse, but rather, a (supposed) case of Square Peg Round Trope; actual misuse is what happens when a trope is given the SPRT treatment all over the wiki, as it happened with the Understatement trope, or with any Sinkhole for that matter.
[EDIT: Slightly changed the post because it was a bit too rude.]

Part of renaming Badass tropes. Notice how it doesn't really mean "change whimpy characters into badass" but more into "change whimpy characters into feasible characters", as per the quote and Video Game examples.
