Write a long, tasteful, romantic love scene featuring Setsuna and Feldt inside the 00 Gundam's cockpit and I will name my firstborn after you. (This is coming from a guy who prefers Setsuna x Marina.)

Ironically, I'd also be for the cockpit scene, but that's because I've actually tried writing such things in my BattleTech fiction days.

Fair bit more room to work with inside the cockpit of a BattleMech than any of the Gundam series I'd actually enjoy writing though. I'd probably have another "oh god this sucks" moment like the extended microgravity scene I did recently.

Well, they do have the opportunity to be alone like that thanks to Feldt piloting the 0-Raiser - and I plan for them to be a Chastity Couple.

In fact, I have a universal house rule for myself that lemon scenes have no place in a non-pornographic story - ie. implication and mention is OK, actual depiction isn't. Mind you, I did write quite a few pornographic stories for Evangelion but I honestly cannot materialize a mental image of Setsuna and Feldt going at it. It just feels... wrong.

Regarding Marina, Setsuna would eventually come to the conclusion that while he still sympathizes with her goals and methods, his hands are so stained that walking the same path as her would tarnish the nobility of her cause. In other words, the two of them are too fundamentally different (see Setsuna's "I'm a destroyer who knows only how to fight" line from the S1 finale), to say nothing of the fact that his experiences with Ali still hurt so much that he's pretty much afraid of placing unconditional trust in any cause.

Well, on a more serious tack, I think you're undermining Setsuna's Character Development. I mean, the whole ending of the movie would be brought low if Setsuna always thought himself unworthy of understanding Marina's cause.

Oh, he did understood her cause. The problem is that he feels unworthy to partake in it himself.

Just throw the two of them into the Gundam Build Fighters world. The peace there as well as everything else will do the rest.

Though it's also possible that there'd be a Build Fighters version of Loran who's native to that world, the way there's a Ramba Ral, you know?

Also, how do you guys think a fusion between the Universal Century or 00verse and Strangereal would go? Tech, history, etc.?

In universal centry, just replace Gundam Unicorn with Ace Combat 5 and blame the Belkans on the entire war. In the 00 verse the wars won't happen because the misters would stop it before it gets too big. Not sure about tech advancements.

No what I'm saying is that 0079 started as a revenge plot by the Belkans. They orchestrated the entire war and were trying to get both sides to wipe each other out before they swoop in and destroy the Fed and Zeon.

Come to think of it, just which countries would be the founders of the Federation this time? Osea and the ISAF states is evident, maybe Aurelia, Emmeria and Ustio too. Erusia and Estovakia would probably remain neutral.

You could probably put them all under one banner if Zeon attacked like in 0079. Yes it would be Earth vs Space but the moment you have Neutral sides your going to end up turning into Gundam Seed if you don't plan things out.

I was guessing at neutrality because I didn't want to apply an "all heroes vs all villains" situation, nor did I want to have a situation where everybody is all buddy-buddy with whoever kicked the shit out of them previously. The first smells of Black-and-White Morality, the second wouldn't mesh with a key motif in UC history - that motif being that some people just can't let go of old grudges.

And no matter how negatively the Federation is being portrayed in some UC works, they're nowhere near as bad as OMNI. For one, the Federation would actually respect neutrality instead of invoking With Us or Against Us. Yes, they did establish military bases in neutral colonies but only the Titans went the extra mile of "do as we say or die, spacenoid scum"

Having started AC5 for the first time today, I was wondering; could an Arkbird-class be able to put a dent into a falling colony if we presume its laser cannon is souped up with a Minovsky fusion reactor to allow continuous firing? Though now that I think of it, Operation British' failure would be quite a bit more plausible if the Feddies were to build a Stonehenge over Jaburo and instead of Zeon missing their target, Stonehenge blasts it off-course - which would also explain why Zeon has so much difficulty taking the place later, having no air support or aerial supply lines anywhere within 1200 kilometers of Jaburo.

So, inspired by possibly hearing one too many Sieg Zeons, and also Walker's Account ("Dio salvi l'Allenzea!"), I have been driven to come up with the battle cries and mottos of other forces for the Wing universe.

I've already got a motto for Alliance Space Forces, but if anyone wants to suggest one for other OZ/Alliance branches, the Treize Faction, or the World Nation they'd be appreciated.

I was wondering, how would it change things if Shinn's destruction of the Freedom launches Kira into the Universal Century at the beginning of MSG, he finds the RX-78 before Amuro does and uses it to repel the attacking Zakus?

Reasonably sure Char's going to get killed in that scenario; he lived through his first Gundam encounters primarily because Amuro was utterly inexperienced.

Not necessarily - Kira may not have a 100% success rate at it, but he does try to keep things non-lethal, and whilst Char is a decent pilot, the Zaku is a pathetic enough machine that it probably wouldn't be too much of a challenge for Jesus Yamato.

To be honest, the problem here is that while Amuro was completely inexperienced, Kira is extremely experienced in mobile suit combat, but doesn't know the limits and lethality of the new machine he's using. I find it completely plausible he'll accidentally kill a few people before he gets used to the reaction times and weapons of the RX-78-2.

Char is good enough to get someone like Kira to react to him as if he's a serious threat, and from there to accidentally killing him is not a big step.

Nah, by that point in the story, he's enough of an Instant Expert for that to not be much of a problem. SEED-era Kira, yeah. Destiny-era Kira, nope. Being the Ultimate Coordinator has its perks.
