This one:
The lyrics are just...heartbreaking. Living alone and dying alone - that's pretty much the ultimate tragedy. Especially, if you're the last living person.
Please don't feed the trolls!Eternal Flame by The Bangles makes me want to cry, in a happy cheesy sorta way.
Hero of War by Rise Against used to be a bit of a favorite.
Space Oddity by David Bowie. I felt like someone was pulling my stomach through my ass when I heard "Ground control to Major Tom, your circuit's dead, there's something wrong... Can you hear me Major Tom? Can you hear me Major Tom?" Too Much Information, but I really was very emotional the first time I heard it.
Come sail your ships around me, and burn your bridges down. This song makes me want to cry for some reason:
Lorena Mc Kinnet's "The Highwayman," and Elton John's "Your Song."
The first because OMGSOBEAUTIFUL, the second. . .i dunno. I just feel it. I'm going to sing it to Jade.
Mura: -flips the bird to veterinary science with one hand and Euclidean geometry with the other-The sons of fate - The Protomen
except it's not want to cry, crying just happens
Rarely active, try DA/Tumblr Avatar by pippanaffie.deviantart.comKathy Mattea's 1992 album _Good News_ starts off with the song "What a Wonderful Beginning." It's not an overtly sad song, but I get way too close to crying when I hear it.
Unfortunately, I can't second The Bangles' song "Eternal Flame." I still associate it with the occasional "couples skating" moments at roller skating rinks. Mind you, I have not even seen a roller skating rink in the last twenty years...
Speaking of Kathy Mattea, if you have/had an elderly relative with dementia/Alzheimer's, the last verse of "Where've You Been?" will hit you like a freight train.

"Visitor from Heaven" by Twila Paris. It is often played at a baby or small child's funeral.

I am not forcing you to listen to it. You wouldn't WANT to listen to it.
Saving a file as dlsfkjgldfgjdf because I'm too lazy to think of a title.Just heard one on Pandora the other day.
Ether, by Electric president. It might be the last few lines in particular- but the whole song reminds me of dreams that I don't understand or can't remember. I can still feel the emotions from them. For what I can't recall or describe, many of the words in this song come close.
While you slept it off
Your empire was lost
Now we're not your sons
Your old silver tongue
It don't work too well now
We wandered off
With our heads nice and soft
But we were still numb
And we burned in the sun
And got torn to pieces
I rub the crust off from my eyes
And scratched my name into the sky
The things beneath my floorboards fly
I'll never let them out
And all my teeth
are down at my feet
And all of the blood
comes in a flood
Start counting sheep
Then I fall asleep again
And by myself out wandering
A forest made of skeletons
Of people I once knew
And all their spines
are perfectly aligned
Like cold power lines
Or a fork's silver tines
Now I'm out again
My feet left the ground
And I floated off
and got lost
Now this ain't my home
There's no warmth in these bones
Just a mock-up
to help me
pretend I'm sleeping
...
While we slept it off
All the money was lost
Now we can't stand up
Yeah, the blood in our guts
It just weighs us down now
We'll crawl along
Despite what goes wrong
'cause we're not that young
Takes more than your guns
to scare us off now
Paint your face in ether
Make the skies drip
Make our heads hit the ground
It all goes on forever
Makes no difference
Whether we're still around
My feet left the ground
And I floated off
and got lost
Now my house is far below
It's buried in snow
And I can't see
my footprints anymore; they're too small
I drift through the clouds
with my heart in my mouth
I'm not stopping
Now the Earth is far behind
I'm lost in the sky
with my eyes closed
I'm just waiting for my air to run out

To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."
