I think they're sufficiently different.
Competition Coupon Madness is about a coupon to get the prize, and more importantly, the extreme ways people go to collect them all.
Free Prize at the Bottom is when a single prize is at the bottom of (usually) a cereal package. The trope is more about actually having a prize there than the way to get to it.
The Internet misuses, abuses, and overuses everything.
Assuming that's right, and I don't that that's right, there's still:
- Examples in the wrong trope
- No 1 trope for box tops; sorted by other things
The difference is pretty clear if you ask me.
CCM: Buy and collect stuff to get a prize FPATB: buy stuff to get a prize with it
It's equivalent to the difference between finding the Sword of Plot Advancement in an InexplicableTreasureChest and instead finding one of the 20 matching Plot Coupons that the old blacksmith needs to make it.

- 2nd trope is too specific; says collect X items, only if extreme measures are involved. Not for simply collecting X items; also rename 2nd trope
- Both tropes are The Same But Different from each other, and should be merged
- Examples in the wrong trope/ should be in the other trope

What's the difference between Competition Coupon Madness and Free Prize at the Bottom? Supposedly, the former is 'getting a lot of box tops (or similar) to get a prize before someone else'. Some of the examples in that trope have no competition, but they act like there is. The latter is a prize inside a cereal box, but I'm not sure it extends to box tops for a prize.
Also, I wouldn't count "collect 100 box tops and send them by this date" as the first trope. Same with "Until Supplies Last". There both marketing tricks to get you to do it ASAP.
