I read that fic, and Amon as Takona treats Korra well. He did try to dissuade Korra twice from pursuing romantic relationships with him, but Korra jumped him. Yeah, she did. She's technically the aggressor in that relationship.
Also, lol - I thought their "break-up" was more obvious than the Makorra break-up in show.

At the very least, it's the kinky sort of rape, and since this is Amorra we're talking about - Rape is the norm for that ship. The same for Tarrlok X Korra fics.
Like seriously, do NOT read (any) Amorra ship if (even sorta consenting) rape is a trigger matter for you.
In any case, the rape depicted in this fic isn't the "bloody" sort of rape I've come to expect from Amorra fics. This rape is the angsty romantic type where Amon is clearly reluctant to pursue while Korra just keeps pushing at him (cause she doesn't know who he really is).

After all the non-con and "bloody" Amorra fics, that fic was actually refreshing.
In any case, in that fic, Amon just wanted to spy on Korra - even he didn't expect for Korra to want to jump on his bones, and he (for quite a while in fic-time) acted that she shouldn't be into him (cause it's weird!).
I remember that the first two kisses in that fic was Korra-initiated and she was pushy about it too. The second one was a "Shut Up" Kiss.
Basically, that fic (and it's supporters) ain't saying that it's romantic for an older guy to be into a way younger female (or rape). If we wanna be technical, it's just shippers who have the hots for Amon projecting themselves onto Korra.

There's something wrong with the fanfic recs. Another shipping dark fic had rape in it, then again it was portrayed as really positive. It was wildly out of character though.
Is it possible for a fanfic to be well written, as it has good qualities and could possibly be a good story, just not with the characters it has? Or it's good quality writing but the morality and actions of the characters are complete shit?
The only Amorra I've ever read has had Korra as the aggressor. Which is wildly out of character, but hey it's just dumb fanfic. It's a bit of a guilty pleasure ship to say the least, but it can sometimes be interesting, and very creepy(in a nice dark twisted way) if someone is doing like a negative shipping fic.
Ooooh, link me to this other Amorra fic wherein Korra's the one jumping Amon.

Yeah. teenagers are silly folks. I think that's what most important to remember. Most people want their cake and eat it too. And most of these people are teenagers. They want the dark bad boy with none of the add ons. There is a reason vampires have been popular since the 70s. I say this as someone who prefers reading about disturbing relations and always hated these types of fics.
