And holy shit, that page linked to from the Monster Girl Encyclopedia is awful! That's pedoshit if I've ever seen it. For those who don't feel like clicking on the link, it's a succubus who looks like a young girl, and must gain sustenance from intercourse. After having sex, her body returns to a "virginal state." So it's basically a monster girl created to fulfill the fantasy of having sex with underage virgins. Disgusting.

The entry seems like it's trying to evoke a reaction of horror/disgust, but still...there's no reason for that entry to exist.

On further investigation, no, they're not; it's meant to titillate and appeal to pedophiles. On top of everything else, I say cut it.

It really doesn't. The girl is supposed to be all cute and happy-looking and I guess appealing to pedofucks. There's nothing condeming about the text at all from where I'm sitting. I think we need to do a vote recount for this thing.

Rance isn't being voted as 'not porn' because it's popular, it's getting those votes because it doesn't contain pedo material and has enough plot and gameplay to justify the rather high amount of sex scenes. The protagonist is a complete dick and it's played for laughs, but that's not against our guidelines.

I wouldn't have kept MGE. I was very surprised you did. It's for perverts to play with. I'd look through the other pages on that site if you want more ammunition for a cut.

I feel it is the antithesis of what I play TRPG's for, and I wouldn't want to play with a lewd GM who used this in any campaign.

Glad to see you're not being swayed just because it's popular and so forth. Your reaction to this also suggests that you just didn't know about this (though given that your intentions behind the purge seem to be the most noble, doesn't surprise me at all that you didn't know about it).

And there are plenty of examples of things being cut for being pedo-pandering regardless of whether they have explicit content of that nature (or even explicit content at all), as I understand it. If the two examples given aren't pedo-pandering, then I don't even have a clue what is. Consistency.

Ehhh... personally, I wouldn't call Rance as having plot. Gameplay, yes, plot, no. That and I can't help but feel that the only reason Rance DOESN'T contain pedo (thankfully) is because the protagonist is a serial rapist. This is made by Alicesoft, the exact same guys who make Daibanchou, which is apparently fine with it. Bah, not that it matters - I'm hardly going to accuse it of pedo-pandering of all things, I just think it's an absurdly terrible game with no plot... opinions probably mean people disagree with me here, and just because I think it's a bad game is absolutely no reason at all to ban it.

It's not even a masquerade. That's just the style it happens to be written in. Granted, as I understand it, it does have quite a bit of lore, enough to quite possibly consider it not porn ala Sengoku Rance, but last I checked that's no excuse for pedo-pandering.

A matter that bugged me for a while:

When talking about fanservice here, people seem to weirdly overestimate its "potency" (for a lack of better word) and underestimate the audience. You wouldn't be "aroused" by a random pantyshot or bath scene unless you are a horny teenager. Common fanservice is just too tame to be "arousing" for a normal person.
Rather than titillation (although that happens too, in more extreme cases), fanservice, as far as I have seen (and I have seen a lot), is usually played for humor — both of "naked people are funny" kind, and "aaawkward..." kind, depending on the situation.

Honestly, sometimes you are trying too hard to find sexual content. By saying that "fanservice is here for titillation", you degrade the audience to mentioned "horny teenagers" — which, most likely, they are not.

On a semi-related note: in some cases, intent behind some scenes also can be mistaken without knowledge. For example, a scene of characters getting intimate in some way may well be supposed to be enjoyable not due to some "titillation", but for actual sympathy with the characters — something that will not be obvious on a single glance.

When I saw our own page described a bunch of the monsters as "lolis" I assumed it would be cut, and was shocked to learn it passed.

Honestly, these images look preteen but not sexualized or creepy to me - guess that I don't feel creeped out very easily.

The images look cute, but the descriptions are sort of weird.

Lotte was mostly clean but was doomed by her awful sleep wear!

It's not the images. Read the descriptions. They're "monsters" that look like children that feed on being sexually assaulted (Alice) or sexually assault men (the other two). It's intended to pander to a pedophile fetish.

Honestly, that's even more clear cut than KNJ and Lotte.
