I'm not talking about fanservice (and I agree that it shouldn't be decisive). Rather, I'm talking about pedo-pandering as mentioned here.

If it's as you said, then that means having pedo-pandering content somewhere in the work doesn't warrant automatic cut.

I've never seen any serious pedo-pandering in Index. Kuroko's outfits really aren't intended to be pedo-pandering, so much as they're intended to show off just how !@#$ing crazy Kuroko is. And Index being stripped is really more of a predictable gag about how Touma always gets into Hiii Larious anime sitcom type situations where he predictably says "Fukouda~"

Put another way, the kind of Pedo pandering in Moetan is on an entirely differently level both quantitatively and qualitatively from whatever Arha is talking about for Index.

Now I like Index tongue. I'll just point out that Kuroko's a middle school student and craves for her onee-sama. That does raise a pedo concern.

But I'm genuinely concerned about the policy. If what you say holds, then pedo-pandering has to be weighed based on whether it represents the work, just like porn or fanservice. The standard would actually be more similar than it seemed. I'm asking this because some of the earlier comments scared people and gave a more blanket impression on pedo.

I know the discussion of it is for 5P people only, but I'm really surprised Gor seems likely to be cut- isn't it like something published by a mainstream publisher that you could likely find in bookstores and libraries? I mean it's bad fantasy fiction that preaches dodgy ideas, but so is ''SwordOfTruth''.

Edit- Or to be more specific, while I haven't read the series myself, from its page and whenever I see entries related to it, it seems like the novels are planetary romances with all the intrigue and such that implies- basically, they seem more like an example of fiction with clear Author Appeal / Author Tract than they do porn.

Basically, I'm not sure why it would run afoul of any of the guidelines (is there a guideline about prohibiting works with dubiously consensual sex? If so, that would probably explain it).

I doubt that consent would be a factor, since we're not looking at rape at the moment.

Now that this was brought up, I would like to mention several works in the pending page that probably shouldn't be cut. I'm going to argue based on the Index talk (and what Tomu said about it).

The assertion against Hidan no Aria: "Very fanservicey, and Aria looks like a middle schooler." But that doesn't necessarily mean there's a connection between fanservice and the middle schooler. Now I don't know too much about Hidan no Aria, but just pointing that out.

Same thing. Just because characters look young and are pretty pop starts doesn't mean it's pedo.

The claim "Ririchiyo is totally pedobait" needs to be double-checked. I've heard that there's "nothing sexual, doesn't even have fanservice". After all, if a pedo gets baited by just any (young) character, that's his/her own fault. If anything this sounds like a misinformation given by a troll flagging.

My posting of these above are mostly similar reasoning to Index: checking the context and seeing if seemingly "pedo" material is really representative.

Not related to above, but thought I would mention:

Claim invalidated by prima facie exemption: Funimation licensed it in US.

Don't like the name personally, but I've heard it's just parody and black humor, not really what the name sounds like.

Important part of cinema history. That's what I've heard via input from others; I personally don't know anything more.

The anime of Zombie Desuka mostly doesn't seem to be too pedotastic. I don't remember the respective ages of the characters. There's one point where they all wear string bikinis though.

At the very least, the show sure as hell ain't Moetan.

@abstract: Yeah, I pointed out the bad description on Hidan No Aria some pages back. The fanservice is concentrated around the older-looking characters, while the younger-looking Aria gets no titillating scenes.

Anal Cunt was already voted "not porn." A mod just needs to get around to updating the "pending perusal" page. They have a lot of other things to do, it will get updated eventually.

I don't understand that last thump and I don't have pms enabled, so I can't ask privately.

How is setting people straight about that "The age of consent is 13 in Japan" myth detrimental to my dignity? And it was on-topic, too.

Because we're past that conversation. Anyone bringing up Japan's age of consent again will be thumped. The fact is: it's technically 13 on a national level, but practically, it's set higher in every prefecture. That subject is now over.

Also, P5, when you make a decision, send us a holler on the works you reviewed. We can't update the announcements thread if you don't.

Uh, that's what I said, but alright. I only brought it up because someone said it yesterday (Hours ago, technically) and nobody called him out on it.

Oh, and while you're here, could you please tell me where I need to go to get my pms re-enabled?

Nobody called that person out, but we received a holler to not let that subject come up again, because it's just going in circles.

You can appeal any ban (except for a forum ban) here. The mods will talk about it if you can convince us you won't repeat what made us ban you in the first place.

"Very fanservicey, and Aria looks like a middle schooler." But that doesn't necessarily mean there's a connection between fanservice and the middle schooler. Now I don't know too much about Hidan no Aria, but just pointing that out.

At least one person who has seen the show has already stated that the middle schooler gets zero fanservice.

Dragon Crisis, for example, had some exteremly mild fanservice for one characters who is an older teen at the very least (I have seen an age states for her, but she seems to be in the latter years of high school and might be even older), and zero fanservice for the younger looking girl, but apparently someone reported it with the claim that the young girl was being subject to exploitive fanservice. It would appear we have some people that are abusing the system.

BTW, why are all the posts following the mod thump appearing with oddly colored text?

Probably a browser-specific issue, because I'm not seeing it.

And yes, we've established the system is being abused. There's not a lot we can do to prevent it, other than let the mods swing banhammers at the offenders.
