Read before you flag. This comic is pretty good, actually.
Surprised that Dance In The Vampire Bund has a halo. Even the official cover art is pretty heavy on the lolicon fanservice.
What's precedent ever done for us?Nod, and plus it has nekkid kids(not actual kids, but you know what I mean_. But it my have been censored in americ.
I read the first half of it two years ago. I actually liked it. I'm still not sure why. I blame Narm Charm. That being said, it's still... I don't even know what it is.
I'll hide your name inside a word and paint your eyes with false perception.Seems like a comedy web comic that took a familiar turn into drama towards the end. The drawings of the 'furries' are pretty good there.
Explain then!
I can't really put my finger on it, other than that there is something off here. I would say the stuff with Chelsie, but that's clearly anti-paedophilia and non-explicit; I would say the weird fetish stuff, but the strip actually has a non-excuse plot, if a really convoluted one; I would say that the page is leering... but it actually isn't.
In other words, I just don't know. I really just don't know. There's something wrong, but I just don't know.
(I get the weird feeling that I'm going to be saying that a lot.)

I'll hide your name inside a word and paint your eyes with false perception.Update the first on Shiniez: Finished the first two sections; will get to the rest later. Current thoughts: borderline not porn. It doesn't shy away from nudity or foreplay, but so far it has refrained from showing any of the truly hardcore stuff, which is the opposite behavior from what I would expect from porn. Also, there's a lot of focus on the relationships between the three characters, even in the sex-related strips, enough to edge it out of "purely to titillate" territory.
@4034 The Vampire Bund manga is available uncensored from Seven Seas, with a 16+ rating. Funimation released the uncensored anime on Blu-ray and DVD with a TV-MA rating, although the stream had light censorship.
~Cute and fluffy romance for all!~I brought it up from reading the licensed manga and finding it... well, incredibly skeevy, to say the least. It's one of those "you better have a damn good reason" petitions. I'm honestly shocked that the manga is 16+, given that the main character, who looks twelve and looks noticeably younger than most of the cast, was topless during most of the first chapter.

...are we going to have to read this?! It's in plastic at my B+N. I'm a girl so maybe I won't look like a perv.
Well, technically, only the P5 will have to read this...
I'll hide your name inside a word and paint your eyes with false perception. If they live in the US, it's avaliable in public bookstores. My library has a lot of manga, but not this. They decided to invest in Dragon Ball Z instead.
I can't help but think that's the least sexually-charged depiction of someone putting on sunblock that I've ever seen.
"So... the time has come for you to meet your demise..."Its not wrapped over here.
I remember looking through it for a while. While its not something I'd read in front of my grandma, I wouldn't call it pedo-pandering.
"What a century this week has been." - Seung Min KimHow much pre teen appearing nudity is in it?
That happens every few books. She one of those Older Than They Look deals. She actually does have a grown up body which she transforms into every so often, thats when the fanservice gets heavy. The whole point of looking like a kid is specifically to keep guys from getting into her pants.
At least, if I'm remembering it right.
"What a century this week has been." - Seung Min KimThat may be too many naked 12 year old looking girls for this wiki.
I have all of the books released state-side so I can answer questions abut it.
Fwiw the only people interested in Mina's younger form are the very evil vampire nobles and the previously mentioned sun blocking gel scene is the worst the manga has to offer.
Also when borders was still open the had it non-shrink wrapped here in Tennessee.
Pretty much my point.

Yabbut that's Tennessee, not someplace they're uptight about that sort of thing.
The child is father to the man —OedipusShiniez final opinion: not porn, barely.
- There is a plot, and it's not just an excuse plot.
- The actual comic strips focus pretty heavily on the relationships between the characters.
- Regardless of the mature content, about 75% of the non-supplementary material focuses on the relationship with the sexual stuff taking backseat aside from how it plays into the relationship.
- In the remaining 25% of the main strips, the sex is more prominent, but the relationship part isn't forgotten.
- As mentioned in my previous post, there are no truly hardcore scenes, and nothing XXX explicit. There's a lot of nudity, a lot of bondage (with or without nudity), and a lot of pin-up level outfits, but the actual sex is implied or shown non-explicitly.
- The work definitely isn't intended solely to titillate. If it was, there would be a lot more explicit drawings and a lot less character development.
- I don't think the work is intended primarily to titillate, either. There's just too much time spent on character development; if you were trying to use it as porn you'd be doing a lot of skimming over relatively SFW pages.
- The only really problematic element is the supplementary drawings. There's a lot of them, and they are pretty much entirely sex related/titillating, at the pin-up level and beyond. However, they're not part of the main story and can be skipped without losing anything related to the main work. Also, I don't think they'd be likely to be troped, because there's not really any depth or story to them. P5 could forbid them from being mentioned on the TV Tropes page, though, if they think it might be a problem.
- There's no pedo-pandering. (Probably didn't need to be stated, but I wanted to cover all the bases.)
If anyone has any further questions, I'll do my best to answer them.
I'm one of the ones that voted Angel on Shiniez, and I agree with Nocturna's assessment
