Basically, just do the work associated with the badge for a while. Stay at least semi-active in the discussion(s) for what you are working on and the mods will just give you one.
I got mine for helping set all this up even if I haven't made a badge. (though that might be the "fastest" one to get—create a number of good badges that make it into the shop)
I would not ask for it for yourself. Just trust that the mods will see you.

Under interests is a badge called "Lime", with the exact same description as "Lime Badge" but without an image. Is that a bug?

In a fit of boredom I decided to make a Pegasus badge. If the pallete is too close to copyright infringement that's easily fixed but how's the shape work?

Just out of curiosity, how does it look if you make the neck one pixel larger? Just so you don't have the black on both sides of the neck touching each other at that one spot.
(I got confused about which side had the head at first—doesn't seem to be quite distinctive enough)
