This forum is long overdue for another round of Werewolf.

The rules are as such:

Each player will be assigned a role, which I will determine randomly (likely by drawing cards, as per the tradition). That role will be sent in the form of a PM.    You may not tell other players your role.

Villager- Vanilla mortal. Most players will be villagers. On her own, a villager doesn't possess any game-changing powers, but each villager contributes a vote to towards the daily lynch (explained later.) You will be a villager if I draw a number card (2-10) for you.

Werewolf- A werewolf. Driven by instinct and malice, the werewolf pack hunts and kills a human every night. The werewolves decide amongst themselves which victim to take every night phase. Werewolves are the ONLY players that may communicate freely with one another. You are a werewolf if your draw comes up a king.

Guardian- possible role, represented by the Jack of Spades. Each night phase, the Guardian chooses one target-which may be themself- to protect. If the Werewolves try to kill the person the Guardian is protecting, they fail, and nobody dies that night.

Seer- possible role, represented by the Jack of Diamonds. Each night, the Seer chooses a target to scry. That target's role is revealed to the seer through PM.

Outsider- possible, secret role. The Outsider will be told they are a villager, but will show up to the Seer as a Werewolf.

Telepath- Possible role, represented by the Jack of Hearts. Each night, the Telepath may choose to send a message through the GM (me) to a target of their choice.

Hunter- possible role, represented by the Jack of Clubs. Once and only once, the Hunter may choose one target to kill. Hopefully they pick a Werewolf.

Except for the Werewolves, all players are on the Village Team. The Village Team wins if all Werewolves are eliminated.

The Werewolf Team wins if the number of Werewolves is greater than or equal to the number of village roles.

The game is divided into two phases: day and night.

During the day phase, players may communicate with one another in the thread. Each player will vote publicly on who they think should be lynched. At the end of the day, the player with the most votes is killed by the angry mob. The day phase will last approximately 48 hours, or until all players have voted.

During the night, all players with special roles will PM me their targets (if any). The Werewolves will decide a victim, and one of them will tell me whom. Chatting is discouraged at night.

When a player dies, their death and role will be announced publicly.

Sign-ups will be open until Tuesday. Go go go!

How many players are we aiming for? Is the ratio of wolves:power roles:villagers random, set, or scaled to the number of players?

EDIT: Also could it be a set 24 hours instead of it ending when everyone has voted so that we can have a chance to change and react to votes? I don't mind if it ends when a majority of votes are on a single player, but the day ending when everyone has only voted once just seems wrong to me, like a player's relative time zone could leave them at an advantage/disadvantage (if they're in a later time zone they're more likely to decide when discussion ends). Though I guess it could be interesting, I've never played that way before so it'd be something new for me.

I may join, but I need to clean out my mailbox and don't have much time ATM anyway. If there's still room for more players on, say, Wednesday, I'll join.

EDIT: Okay, "until Tuesday" means I can join tomorrow, right?

Well I know that 5 isn't enough... we'll have to wait a bit more.

Maybe I should PM the ones that posted in the other 2 threads.

Edit: Done. I think we can close the other threads once we get input from those tropers.

[up][up]Yes, you can still join. I meant "until Tuesday (is over)," not "until Tuesday (morning)."

The game itself will begin on Wednesay, at around 5 PM Eastern Standard Time. Roles will be sent at 4 PM, to give you time to prepare and such.

If the number of players is even, we start at night. Odd, day.

I don't know. Should we wait for more? Normally we want at least 10 people. We could, of course, start a new round when the first round is over.

I'm in favor of playing multiple rounds. If more people want to join they can sit out 'til the next round or drop in as alternates for those that drop out.

Currently we have eight players. This is sufficient to begin.

We will be playing multiple rounds, unless everyone simultaneously decides to bail after this first one.

Since we're short a few players, this round will go pretty fast. That's fine, though.

I will be shuffling eight cards into the pile. Two will be Kings (IE werewolves.)

No worries. I'm still waiting on a few messages, so we probably won't get started for a while.

Villager interaction is discouraged at night. You are supposed to be sleeping, after all.

Earl of Sandvich is viewing the world with half a face. Damnit, man, I told you you were supposed to sleep.

Earl of Sandvich the Villager died.

It is now Day Time.

What does everyone think of the kill? Was it because he posted last during the night and that the wolves thought he might be a PR? Who here has played with Earl of Sandvich before? In the first game I hosted he was a somewhat inactive player. Has anyone played in a game where he was a particularly strong wolfhunter?

Vote: Artemis92 wink
