[up][up] Yes, people on the Internet, including several people on this very forum have been freaking out over him turning evil. I just felt like I should right that down here so we don't end up discussing it again. (It's come up in about three different discussions here.)

"So for everyone freaking out about Kevin I would like to say, that what little information I've been able to find on the upcoming episode, it seems he's just Brainwashed and Crazy"

Yeah, I have noticed to. But thing is, you see, I am less freaked out by the perspective he could become evil and more bored about the fact the writers have become so lazy they end up recycling a storyline. I mean, evil Kevin (regardless of the cause) has already been done twice, once good (original series) and another one decent (Ultimate Alien). If the only way to make Kevin plot-relevant/important is to make him evil again in their mind, then Cartoon Network should just have them fired and get another more creative team.

I wouldn't mind an episode about his and Ben's messed up friendship but I doupt we'll see that in Omniverse.

I also wouldn't put it past Wyatt to use Brainwashed and Crazy as a preamble to permanently crazy. We have to emulate those OS "Ben 10,000" episodes, after all.

In any case, not only is this annoying due to storyline recycling, I'm also wary because I suspect this is going to be another wasted opportunity to really deal with the fact that Kevin is good now, and have his past be a present part of his characterization. Alien Force didn't do it. Ultimate Alien kind of brought it up in one or two episodes, but then cast it aside. Omniverse put him on a bus, and with how much they want to repeat the OS' plot points I'd bet the writers would prefer it if Kevin were just evil and that were the end of it.

They should really just reboot this series. It is almost becoming the Naruto of western animation because of all these retcons.

[up][up][up]Yes, that would be cool.

[up][up] Completely agree.

[up]Indeed. Honestly the Ben 10 franchise has become rich enough at this point to be reimagined in a reboot.

I think this is the first time I've heard of a WANTED reboot while the franchise in question is still going. I find myself likeing the idea.

Glad to know I am not the only one to think that way...

Anyway, there is something I wanted to ask for a while, now. In Omniverse, which new characters (I insist on new characters, those who were there before don't count even if they were complelely reimagined) do you find good or bad, and why?

Well Rook should definitely be there. He is easily the best things in Omniverse. His personality along with his badassery and humor made him a favorite of mine.

Khyber and Malware because they both ooze coolness. The former proves he can put up just as much of a fight as his pet, and the latter not only has, a good design, but is legitimately threatening throughout.

Princess Looma due to the fact that she is hilarious.

I would have like to see more Lord Transyl. He could have been a potentially interesting character what with being brought back from an extinct species.

Blucik and Driba can be left out. They come across as annoying, idotic racists. Pax was an obnoxious, hypocritical hippie stereotype.

Khyber, Rook and Malware were definitely the best characters Omniverse created.

[up][up][up]Agreed about Rook; he had potential to be crap, but the writers did a great job at making him an enjoyable character. I could say he overshadows Ben, but that's Ben's fault, not his.

Same for Malware; not only is his design cool, but he is based on a established species, he has a real Origin Story (something that sadly seems to be frequently missing in cartoons those days), he is a real treath and while I think the second part of his arc ended up being a bit messy, in the end it was still the best part of Omniverse to date.

Khyber... I don't know. His voice is great, I will admit his design is somewhat cool, and he is creepy. I would have removed points due to him using an Omnitrix rip-off (which was already done with Albedo) based on a rather flimsy concept in my opinion.... but I guess yes, he is cool.

I used to like Looma at first, but I have been annoyed that her story arc never really seem to progress even though it should, and how powerful she is seems to be a bit hard to swallow (I still can't buy she is immune to Armordrillo's attacks).

Lord Transyl ended up with a kinda disappointing design, but I agree he is a major example of They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character. I would have liked to really see more of him.

And I couldn't agree less about Blucik, Driba and Pax.

On a note, funny to notice how the three characters everyone seem to agree are great (Malware, Khyber and Rook) are amongst the few characters to not be wacky comic reliefs.

Hey did Rozum ever face any sort of punishment for imprisoning all those aliens. It reeks of KarmaHoudini and TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot.

Nope, and IIRC we didn't get any further plotlines involving any further anti-alien paranoia. Which is a shame, since that would have made him a great antagonist in Omniverse's "aliens moving into Earth publicly" plotline - though I guess they still did something along those lines with the Knights.

They should of made the aftermath of Prisoner 775 a subplot for UA season 2. It could of certainly been superior than most of the filler. Rozum needed to get his ass kicked hard.

Well, Rozum did get a cameo in flashback in Blucik and Driba Go To Area 52... where he did nothing relevant, not to mention the fact it created a Series Continuity Error with UA. Sad, really.

Besides obvious choices like Rook Dr Psychobos - His voice, design, mannerisms- everything in just right balance between funny and dangerous. Billy Billions - he makes fine comedic villain for lighter episodes. Zed - both as villain and as hero. I think the problem was that Zs'Skayr and Lord Transyl couldn't fit together in just one episode, when one deserved to get his arc's final and another good introduction.

Characters I dislike? Pax- Let me put this way: if I could change only one thing about Pax, I would remove his powers of regeneration to make sure I never have to see him again. Pakmar - he's just one gag Collectimus - I really dislike these spoiled super-powerfull beings, especially Karma Houdini types like him. Rad - but we all know that. And yes, Blukic and Driba would be more acceptable if they sticked to background and let other characters have their screentime.

I think the problem with Billy for me is, I can't look at that character without thinking he should have a lazy albino friend named Pete who lodges with him and spends his money on video games and ill-conceived business ventures.

I also like the Nemetrix and thought it was wasted potential. I don't care about it "ripping off" Albedo, the idea of it was very sound and interesting but the limited amount of predators prevented much of it's potential from happening.

[up][up][up][up] Okay, I admit, Dr Psychobos is fine- a bit silly, but not silly to the point it's unbearable, and yes, he has a good balance between funny and dangerous. Too bad they ended up doing very little with him. Zed is a good character, nothing bad to say about her. As for Billy Billion... well I find the continuity error regarding his backstory absolutely blaffing, but yeah, in himself he is a good minor villain for comedic episodes.

Wow, I didn't know you disliked Pax THAT much... just curious though, how exactly was Collectimus obnoxious? I didn't actually watch the episode, so just out of curiosity...

[up][up]True.

[up]... Point taken.

You don't know who Collectimus is? His character's basically like Superboy Prime, an incredibly powerful Straw Fan meant to be a Take That, Audience!, only this guy's aimed at anyone who like Alien Force and Ultimate Alien.

Nah, I know about that part (in fact this is partially why I didn't watch his episode: just hearing about that pissed me off). But clearly even those who don't particularly like AUF dislike him, so I am curious about what exactly made him obnoxious in everyone's eyes.
