Basket Case is the greatest movie I've ever seen.
Okay, maybe not, but it's still a damn entertaining slice of B-movie horror.
Basket Case 2 ain't too shabby either. The last film, however...meh.

I haven't watched the sequels yet, but if they're on Netflix I will.
My PM box is always open to anyone who wants to talk/vent.Like Xtro or The Boogeyman, I thought Basket Case was one of those films that worked best as a standalone feature.
Yeah, I didn't like the sequels.
The whole series is marvelous, and IMO, I don't feel the sleazy reaction most people do. There's just such a sense of refuge in weirdness permeating the narrative that makes me crack a grin. Duane and Granny Ruth (the latter appearing in the sequels) both have a formidable Weirdness Censor that undoes any real sense of sympathetic Body Horror, at least in my viewing experience.
Even the dirtiest things that occur (like the ..."climax" of the first film, as well as the many gruesome deaths in it) are offset by how relatively deadpan they're dealt with (compared to how they would be in a straight horror film), and the already eyebrow-raising circumstances surrounding them.

Been meaning to watch this. Henelotter's Brain Damage looks promising as well.
The only part I've seen is the part where a Claymation cannabilistic recently separated Siamese twin walks around a model bedroom and shakes the bed. I figured that's all I really need to know about it.
Ne Conjuge NobiscumPerhaps, but did you also know that in the film a cannabilistic recently separated Siamese twin is fed burgers inside a wicker basket and throws out the buns whilst he noms?

Anyone else think Duane was kind of cute? I felt bad for him when the evil deformed twin killed (and seemingly screwed) his gurl.
My PM box is always open to anyone who wants to talk/vent.Not cute as in "attractive" for this straight/male troper, but I concur in a general sense. Duane seemed like a sweet guy; he cared enough for his brother to see vengeance as an option, but beyond that he just wanted to find a girl and live a reasonably normal life. Lots of pathos seeing his awkward self discover love, but have it get taken from him by the brother he helped survive for the past 10(or so?) years :/.

This 1982 B-Horror Film is one of the most awkward, somewhat scarring film I've ever seen, and I'm actually someone who likes watching Controversial, sometimes trashy movies.
But this one, just gives me scarring mental images. I hope someone has actually seen it though!
