Jump Start! I remember the Jump Start series. Everything was fine and dandy until the Fifth grade and it's Art museum.
This game ate many, many hours of my childhood.
Yes, I remembered most of the music for all these years.

My mom used to classify kiddie adventure games as edutainment.
My introduction to video games was the Hasbro 4: putt putt, Freddie Fish, Pajama Sam, and Spy Fox.
And you know what? Those games are STILL good.
Go play Kentucky Route Zero. Now.My introduction to video games was Elmo's Number Journey.
Even at five years old I thought that game was shit.
If I hadn't forgotten the title of this video game, I'm certain that I would have done much better at math between high school and now.
Oh my god Treasure Mathstorm. I spent so long pointlessly grinding the shit out of that game.
I liked one of the other ones in that series better, the one where you build racing vehicles and throw bananas at monkeys. Can't for the life of me remember what it was called.
EDIT: ''Gizmos and Gadgets!" That was it.

Oh no wait, Pajama Sam was educational!
Just watch this educational content!
Go play Kentucky Route Zero. Now.^^^ I was a fan of Treasure Mountain and Treasure Island, myself. Even if those sharks were scary.
I also recall playing a game where you walked through this trippy colorful world, and there were these evil things that could hurt you and I think some phonebooths and you got dog bones. I think it was math-based Can't for the life of me remember what it's called or anything else about it.
Woah, that was what that game was called? All these memories of Treasure Mathstorm are flooding me now...
That game was awesome.
I remember we also had a typing game. The backstory was that a monster/ghost of some kind had stolen all the letters in the keyboard-shaped town, and you had to beat all the levels (each of which focused on one letter) to get them back. Then you won! The game really loved the words "ukulele" and "alfalfa". Can't remember much else about it.
Tumblr here.i remembered playing Mario Teaches Typing
thats all
"We don't need no education."
oh my gosh, I used to love Freddie Fish and Jump Start when I was Kindergarten :)
Operation Neptune. There was another good one, even if the exploration was more interesting than the random math questions.
It also happened to be around the same time me and my sister were going through the rather more vicious Ecco the Dolphin, so I was like, "yeah I can do this"

Jumpstart and this weird Math first-person shooter from 7th grade.
NO TREE FOR ME (ALSO LOVES HER BOYFRIEND)@Jimmyman: Oh man, I remember that!
I replayed Pajama Sam recently, and man, do you appreciate it infinitely more as an adult. It makes sense, as it's made by the guy who made the first two Monkey Island games.

Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone. Those games were my childhood.
Also, my best friend, who basically has grown up being my opponent/teammate in any video game I own, was the person I would play them with.
And nowadays, I get to give the discs that I kept to my little brothers.
Life is good.
Go play Kentucky Route Zero. Now.My favorite game in second grade was kind of like the one in the OP. You played as a shark and got points for eating everything. We got to play on the computers every day, so I wasted so long on that game (even though I remained hilariously bad at it).
All the Humongous Entertainment games were great when I was a kid. As well as Jump Start. Watched a few L Ps of those games a few years ago and nostalgia'd quite hard.
Someone wake me from this nightmare, I've become my darkest fear...Hell, most things by Sierra. I loved Sierra.
^^ Humongous Entertainment games were by far the best. I'm pretty sure I played almost all the games they put out, too.
And look, I found that game I was talking about!
Math Blaster, anyone?
Remembered that game a lot.
It made me interested in mathematics. Then, I went to school, but that's a different story altogether.

I just found the cases for a couple of games I played when I was little and I decided to look up some videos of old games and I had a total nostalgia trip.
I USED TO PLAY THIS IN COMPUTER LAB IN ELEMENTARY OMGGG MY CHILDHOOD
...ahem. So anyone else remember these?
