[up] With a title like that I don't think it needs that last line.

Good call, I just cut that. Could somebody else take a stab at tightening it a little? It would be good to have a few sets of fingers to work on it.

I tweaked it a bit. Have the examples on the page been gone over? A skim suggests that they have.

A lot of the examples still need revising. Just did one I'm familiar with.

Also, I wonder if the relationship between this trope and Brawn Hilda needs reviewing? Surely there's a good number of them who have one of these back at home?

Tweaked the description a little more and cut the bad and zero context examples on sandbox page. We just need to rewrite the existing examples to focus more on the attraction to the amazon, and less on the amazon, methinks.

It's getting there, but somebody who knows them better really needs to sort out the comic books section.

What do we know about the wicks? Other than "A lot of them are incorrect?" Has anyone taken a post-crowner look?

Anyway, I'm happy with Amazon Chaser. It shifts the focus of the trope to the one that is attracted which I think will cut down on future misuse.

No, but since it had massive misuse, most of them will probably have to go.

Do people think the sandbox example is obvious enough that this is about finding a person attractive because of these traits, rather than only finding people with these traits attractive?

The sandbox currently looks fine to me. We're not gonna use Hot Amazon as a redirect, right?

^ I don't recall if any decision was made on that, but making it a redirect to Amazon Chaser would kind of defeat the purpose, I think.

I'd hate to lose the inbounds, so I suppose we could redirect it to Amazonian Beauty and try to get Eddie to faux redlink it.

Do we need a crowner for the disposition on it?

Redlinked redirect to Amazonian Beauty works for me, FWIW.

There's only a handful of examples left that don't fit the new definition. Since I'm unfamiliar with the works in question, should we maybe cut them and let Wiki Magic restore them in its own time?

Sounds good. Let's move 'em to discussion and rename.

Then we get the "fun" of cleaning those wicks. Yay?

I'll make the change. Hot Amazon goes to Amazonian Beauty and the page will be called Amazon Chaser.

EDIT: I've moved everything and redirected. I'll leave the wicks to someone else. I have my hands full with Beyond the Impossible and Xanatos Gambit.

Here is the list of links to Hot Amazon. I'll do some that I am familiar with.

Yes, it probably should.

I think we may need a special efforts thread for this clean-up.

I'm going to start on the A's. EDIT: Have to quit for a bit. If I ever find the person who felt the need to pothole the names Shampoo and Boa Hancock to Hot Amazon every single freaking time they appeared, I may break his fingers.

Question: So where does this leave the proposed Delicacy Is Beautiful? That trope was created to be the supertrope that Hot Amazon subverted. But now, Amazon Chaser makes the point moot, because Amazon Chaser implies that amazonian women are equally sought after.

I don't see how it does. No Guy Wants an Amazon is still in effect in many series.

So Delicacy Is Beautiful works, but no longer as a Super-Trope?

Yes. It's more the norm, while Amazon Chaser is an aversion for a specific character(s). They can even exist in the same work.

Looking over the trs thread for Amazonian Beauty got me thinking whether or not a male character who likes a girl because she's an Action Girl is too limiting. Maybe we should expand the definition to include cases where a male character likes female because because she possess traits that are typical considered masculine. She's muscular, Action Girl or Tomboy etc... Thoughts? or perhaps the definitions not up for debate anymore?

I think we should just make a new trope for each trait if that's the case, because "anything masculine" could mean anything from sports or the internet in general.

Crown Description:

The issue at hand is how best to handle the trope Hot Amazon.

The trope has 1116 wicks and 1837 inbounds.
A wick check shows 81% misuse, mostly for "Action Girl the editor found hot"
The trope was previously split into Hot Amazon and Amazonian Beauty. Whether the wicks were cleaned afterward is unknown.
