Any word on whether this game will be connected to Justine in any way?

I doubt it, considering it's not on the Continent and the protagonist is most likely entirely different.

Given that these are the same people who did Dear Esther, there's a substantial chance that absolutely nothing happens during the whole game. :-P

Just from that, the Frictional forums sounds a lot like the Minecraft forum. Or any Minecraft forum. Sounds like Swedish games attract a certain kind of spelling and grammar-crush people, but I suppose gaming forums are all like that (normally, I stay away from those). They are populated by gamers, after all.

I learned about this Pewdiepie or whatever guy from TV Tropes and saw him mentioned a few times elsewhere. So, I don't really get why many have a hate boner for this guy, instead of simply not giving a fuck about him (which is a very healthy attitude for irrelevant things, I can only recommend it).

Also, I prefer not to judge a LPer by his fanbase. My favorite one (who is also the most popular German LPer) has many fans, who are like tha ones of PDP (apaprently), but I don't think less of him due to that. It helps that he doesn't like them himself and normally blocks them.

But that's a different topic, actually.

It's been a while, is there any new information about Amnesia 2 by now (aside from the user-submitted screams)?

With all the don't-turn-Amnesia-into-Dear Esther flames in mind I'm pretty sure tcr would've been crucified had it actually turned out to be a "short, experimental title", so that's good.

At its worst? Imagine every forum trope you care to think of out in full force; trolling, Epileptic Trees made of scraps, elitist dipshittery, and the occasional poor sod a bit late to the occasion (Hi gaiz the picture's unblurred now) instantly flamed half to hell, all of this interspersed with sheer desperate lunacy growing louder with each passing day clamoring for news and a release date. Eventually I began to wonder if the game wasn't some sort of meta-business; the forum is the machine and the forumites the pigs. Was entertaining, though.

They did provide some ideas about what the theoretical pig-monster could look like and heeheuhhuhh....

ARG part deux! Someone discovered that a street-lamp on the right side of the AAMFP site banner was animated◊, when they clicked on it they were brought to an empty letter which in some fashion eventually turned into this.

Ahh... Isn't A Machine for Pigs due to come out soon? It was originally slated for late 2012, if I recall, but was delayed to 2013 so the team could have more time to fine-tune the game.

I'm really looking forward to this. Amnesia gives me hope for survival horror games.
