Yup. He had a 4½ Litre in the first few books, before it gets wrecked in Moonraker. I think he bought another Bentley after that.

A Conti would've been a nice nod to that. Plus, it's quite elegant and classy, but also a little bit brutish. Pretty good fit for Craig's Bond, I find. Oh well, in the next movie...

Plus Bond drove a Bentley Mulsanne in some of the later John Gardner books.

Psssh. I'd rather not see Bond running around in a car for footballers.

Then again the only time I think that the choice of car the production team asked whoever was doing Product Placement for worked was Tomorrow Never Dies. Because when your cover story has you posing as a bank manager the BMW 7 series is an almost perfect car.

So I'm stuck with a loan Renault Clio whilst my 9-3 is getting fixed up after my little prang, and I absolutely hate it. It's awful in pretty much every way. The gearstick is too small, the dashboard is too large, the seat is too high and the engine failed to start today, despite the car only being two years old and having 11,000 miles on the clock.

French automotive engineering, not even once.

I'm running a ten-year old Clio right now. Had not much in the way of problems, as yet, despite heavy usage. I'm guessing quality dropped since 2004 — in fact, I'm certain it did, if you look at market share.

Can't complain about our old Twingo. Twelve-ish years, I think, nothing to it, solid as a rock.

My family had a Peugeot 406 which was an absolute tank. Suspension was so soft that it was like being at sea, though.

You cannot buy a Renault here unless you take your time and import one yourself, while Peugeot is still quite rare. IIRC there's just TWO official dealerships for the whole country. LOL

also: a funfacts about the stranden scorpione:

the seat on the passanger side is 5cm wider because womens hips are said to be that, the seats are fully cusom made and have speakes in them, the car was built from 68-72, it has an inbuilt alarm system and an engine bay fire alarm, the dashboard is homemade too, he fell through the floor in his neighbours barn 3 times while making the shape of the car, the car can withstand a sideimpact of 2500kg pr cm2, he started building it when he was 18, the engine has a custom made intake manifold, the blinkers play "beethovens 5th symfony"

The Lamborghini Asterion might enter production after all. Looks like Mr. Winkelmann has had a change of heart. Having it undercut the 918 and LaFerrari in terms of price is probably the icing on the cake.

The Jaguar C-X75 is rumored to be the car of the villain in the upcoming James Bond film. Is this what Jaguar's recent ad campaign was leading up to? This definitely has upstaged the DB10...

The morning after I posted the "No Renaults here" comment, I saw an old Renault Clio. LOLOLOLOL Anyway, probably imported by a used cars dealer (there are a lot of them here, albeit typically bringing in Japanese or Korean vans/trucks/buses).

Acura says that the production version of the Acura NSX will appear at the Detroit Motor Show next month.

So, a new Honda NSX?

As far as I recall, the NSX was only sold as an Acura in the US, so yes... in the rest of the world.

A bloody shame they couldn't afford any lights for the photoshoot...
