Renaming to expand to Western examples (New Crowner 2.9): Yandere Love Triangle

If this thread is to be believed, in order to be able to add Western examples to Yandere Love Triangle, we'll need to think of a new name for it that contains no Japanese words. Psycho Love Triangle? Mad Love Triangle (to go with Mad Love?)

Is there some kind of good play on (at least) two corners of the triangle being Ax-Crazy?

Personally, I'd say we should just make a new trope with the western name and keep Yandere Love Triangle for Japanese ones (well, actually I think Yandere Love Triangle should be for everything, but that's not happening), but either way we need a good name, so we can argue whether we're launching a new trope or renaming this one later.

And I can't think of a good one either. Maybe just Crazy Love Triangle would work? It should probably be something that emphasizes there are at least two yanderes.

Degenerate Love Triangle?

Wouldn't a Degenerate Love Triangle be one in which two of the vertices are actually the same person?

(Which probably does happen often enough in fiction to be a trope, come to think of it.)

Loves My Alter Ego covers that.

That is more of the math meaning and less of the trope meaning :\\ Maybe my suggestion is not good.

We also appear to have Two-Person Love Triangle, and if we don't use it here, I'm definitely making Degenerate Love Triangle a redirect to that trope.

Getting back to the thread... a "yandere" is a crazy, obsessive type, right? Does Caught Between Two Crazies sound too broad?

Would one of Yandere's redirects work? I think Psychotic Lovers Triangle sounds good.

I love caught between two crazies.

Same.

Caught Between Two Crazies seems clear, concise, and has good assonance.

Caught Between Two Crazies could be limiting on the one hand, considering at least two of the examples involve three yanderes, and misleading on the other since it doesn't imply that romance is actually involved. (The first thing that comes to mind is a 'rock and a hard place' type of situation.)

My vote is for Mad Love Triangle or Psychotic Lovers Triangle, personally.

I dislike Caught Between Two Crazies. Too broad for a romantic type relationship.

I like it.

To be frank, this should be a redirect than a complete rename.

I like Mad Love Triangle.

Bumping. I'd favor Mad Love Triangle over Caught Between Two Crazies for the same reason as Noa.

Definitely rename, Mad Love Triangle seems like a good idea.

Since it seems there has been some opposition to the rename, I've created a single proposition crowner here.

Mad Love Triangle is a bad idea. People are already confusing Mad Love for a sort of "Yandere's Love" trope, when its just one-sided.

I'm not sure what else to call it. I guess Degenerate Love Triangle isn't too bad . . .

A degenerate love triangle would be a love line segment.

I'd be satisfied with either Mad Love Triangle or Psychotic Lovers Triangle. (Mad Love is being misused because the trope name is horribly vague, and it probably needs a rename itself - though that's not a local discussion. I don't see how it renders Mad Love Triangle so terribly inaccurate as to prevent it being the trope title.)
