  • Agalloch - Marrow of the Spirit (CD) - signed by Don Anderson and Aesop Dekker (fucking bouncers kicked us out before we could talk to John Haughm)

Other than that I only own slightly more than ten CDs and the rest of them are CD store normal (though The Demonstration Archive has a chance of becoming out of print someday because it's printed by Agalloch independently, and the Neurosis re-releases with redesigned slipcases are ostensibly limited), so I've got nothing else to add.

Limited editions:

  • Havalina - A Bullfighter's Guide to Space and Love (CD) - Limited to 500 copies, I think.
  • Starflyer 59 - Ghosts of the Future (box set of ten 7" vinyls) - Got the colored vinyl edition, which was limited to 1000 copies, I think.

Pre-release promotional copies:

  • Bon Voyage - Bon Voyage (CD)

  • Art of Dying's indie debut.
  • Barenaked Ladies' Shoe Box E.P.
  • Black Sabbath compilation simply called "Children Of The Grave [Bonus Track]." It has a bunch of previously released material and a low-quality live recording of the title-track.
  • Guns N' Roses Sympathy For The Devil Single
  • Ozzfest 2001 Live
  • Ozzfest: Second Stage Live
  • Metal Hammer Presents... A Tribute to British Steel
  • Mötley Crüe's Quaternary and Decade of Decadence compilation (out of print)
  • Pearl Jam Last Kiss single
  • WWF Forceable Entry. It's a compilation of Wrestling tunes (mostly themes).

That I can immediately recall:

  • Current 93, I Have A Special Plan For This World—Clear vinyl edition. 940 copies.
  • Current 93, In A Foreign Town, In A Foreign Land—Original card sleeve edition packaged with the book of the same name. 1000 copies.
  • Nurse With Wound, Zero Mix—CD with art book. 1100 copies.
  • Psychic TV, Dreams Less Sweet—Original pressing with bonus 12". Limited edition, number of copies not known.

I'm not sure if the copies of Michael Gira's Solo Recordings At Home and I Am Singing To You From My Room count, as they are second pressings, but they are both numbered and signed.

Wait a minute, thought of a few more:

  • Michael Gira, Benefit CD - Jarboe Emergency Medical Fund—Basically the first Angels Of Light disc.
  • Swans, Children Of God/World Of Skin—Original digipak issue. Reasonably rare.
  • Swans, Omniscience—Never reissued.
  • Swans, Time Is Money 12"—Long out-of-print.

Sure, film scores are fine. You mean the actual sheet music? Those can go in this topic too.

Well, I don't actually own it, but my local geeky interests store (technically a record store, but they sell niche stuff too, and loads of comics) had vintage sheet music for The Beatles' "Michelle" that I considered getting, passed on, and ended up regretting ever since.

Oh, and I don't know if it's rare, but a Japanese CD edition of John Lennon's Shaved Fish compilation. It's in a mini-LP sleeve.

EDIT: Well, apparently, I really scored on this:

Available from Amazon Marketplace

6 New from $29.85
4 Used from $29.50
1 Collectible from $79.99

I got it in pristine condition, protected by a plastic slipcase no less, for only about $20. In a FYE.

Oh, and now that I think of it, I managed to find in the same record store as above two Beatles-related bootlegs, Artifacts I (Beatles) and Out of the Blue (solo Lennon). I'm not sure how rare those are these days, though.

I got a CD of "Rebore, vol. 0" by the Boredoms online for much more money than justifiable. When I was 13. Yeeeee boi.

The limited edition version of Sound Horizon's Märchen album, which is worth it for the crazy-ass elaborate CD case alone. The lyrics book is a goddamn hardcover.

Probably not rare in Japan, but I have physical copies of two of Nujabes' albums, Metaphorical Music and Modal Soul.

I have the Stick Men With Ray Guns discography CD, long OOP and costs quite expensive on auction sites. I only paid like five bucks for it too, which just makes it better.

I also own a record from the first pressing of Germs' GI LP.

Dunno if a lot of this stuff is ultimately really "rare", but it's hard to find around here, so I'll give it a shot.

Iced Earth: a copy of their 2001 reissue of Burnt Offerings, the Days of Purgatory 2-disc compilation, The Dark Saga, an original copy of Something Wicked This Way Comes that I got on my birthday last year, and the Overture of the Wicked EP. There's more, but I'm only listing the stuff that's hard to find.

Megadeth: the original pressings of Rust in Peace and Countdown to Extinction

Overkill: Taking Over. Apparently the CD's worth $40 used since it's been out of print for a number of years, but I snagged a brand-new copy for just $11 at CD Warehouse one day (great place, shame they went under).

Anthrax: original pressings of State of Euphoria, Persistence of Time, and Sound of White Noise. Related: the "Platinum Edition" of Stormtroopers of Death's album Speak English or Die.

Slayer: original CD pressings of Live Undead and Hell Awaits.

Ozzy Osbourne: original 2-CD version of The Ozzman Cometh (the version out now replaces "Shot in the Dark" with "Miracle Man" and replaces the Blizzard and Diary-era work with the horrible 2002 reversionings), and the original CBS Records CD pressing of Just Say Ozzy (been out of print for a long time).

...and I think that's it for now.

EDIT: Forgot one... make that two.

Venom: Combat Records' CD release of Welcome to Hell. $18 well spent.

GWAR: Carnival of Chaos. Not their best work, but rare is rare.
