This page is VERY LONG and has numerous redirects. Should we split it between all five movies, or 1-2-3, Wolverine, First Class? That way we can chop up the subpages too.

There are already subpages in X-Men Film Series also. (And can we avoid hyphens in titles?)

When the Ace Combat got too large, various tropers created separate pages for each of the games without any discussion. I don't see any harm in making pages for each film.

I dislike hyphens myself, just custom title the plain text version.

[up]Exactly

Should the original 3 have their own pages or be together, ie X Men Trilogy?

No, I'd say make one franchise page and then one for each film. They're all part of the same storyline (mostly), although Wolverine and First Class retcons some things.

Wow... I think I'm done with everything. And now "X-Men" "United" "First" "Film" and several other words look like a bunch of gibberish.

I've been changing wicks for a while, is that all that's left to do?

hotrods4ben,
Thanks for your work here. I think you are right about changing wicks being pretty much all you need to do at this point.

One remaining questions may be whether you want to split the X-Men Film Series character page now that the films have their separate pages. It seems to me like keeping the characters from the trilogy of films together on one page would make sense, but I feel like it is probably reasonable to have a separate character page for X-Men: First Class and maybe even X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

I am not an expert on those films though, so if someone who is would like to comment, that would certainty help things.

I think a separate character page for First Class would be a good idea, as there's very little overlap with the other films in terms of the characters, and it would differentiate the characteristics of Charles and Erik in First Class from those in later movies. Origins: Wolverine should be kept with the trilogy as there's more carryover of characters (Wolverine, whose character traits are largely the same as in the other movies; Stryker; Sabretooth; and a few cameos).

First Class is intended to be the same universe with the same characters.

It is, but there's a couple of decades of character growth in between them. That makes a difference.

Yes; a few characters (Xavier, Magneto and Mystique) appear in both the prequel and the trilogy, but their characterizations are sufficiently different that it makes sense to split up the character pages, because the majority of the characteristics that exist in First Class don't apply to the trilogy, and vice versa. In particular, McAvoy's Xavier and Patrick Stewart's Xavier have few character traits in common.

The movies open with the same sequence. The director (etc.) went out of his way to say they are the same continuity.

Oppose separate character page for First Class. The differences can be soft-split by character, not hard-split by movie.

This thread has no activity, an expired clock, and would be better handled by Special Efforts or discussion pages rather than the TRS. Locking up.

Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.
