I'mma look for one with him and Rider. Course those I've seen are R-18 or veer towards it a bit.

Provided there's actual substance to those fics, I don't think any one of us would care being informed of them.

I'll give that Shirou/Medea fic a shot but the presence of two (maybe. One may be a stylistic choice) blatant grammatical errors doesn't inspire hope.

Of course, it's competing with Path of the King so the odds are stacked against it.

Two blatant grammatical errors in the synopsis. I really need to get into the habit of proofreading my posts.

Also, the tense seems to be predominantly present (which is interesting since I know of only one other story that does that) but it keeps randomly switching to past tense which is annoying. Then there's this:

The author who wrote it is French. Though I'll agree that too much grammatical errors is gonna be an eyesore.

That's even one of my worse problems when I write my own stuff.

That explains why I thought the author had a very poor grasp on the English language.

I haven't even finished the first chapter and I'm not terribly enjoying it but it might be at least halfway decent if it were in French. And I could read French.

EDIT: I cannot even begin to understand how Shirou managed to form a contract with Medea. At all.

I'll probably stop there, but I saved it so's I can read and see which direction he's taking the story.

I'm struggling through Chapter 2. I'm probably running on Bile Fascination at this point since the only thing I like so far is the idea of the story.

Like, I'm chalking Medea expelling the water from her lungs to the contract that somehow formed rather than Shirou's Worst Aid.

So I'm just sitting here, trying to think of what a true Caster Route would have been like. While I don't think we have an exact timing, I do believe that Medea started doing her soul stealing thing a bit before the plot starts and Shirou possessing a Servant that much sooner would likely change a good number of things.

I also just realized that a Caster Route would likely include promoting Kojirou to major character which would make it even more amazing.

I don't know if that means Shirou will stumble onto her alone or with Saber. Rin and Archer catches onto her IIRC in the routes mentioned.

PS - Not sure on HF though. Don't quote me on that.

In order for a Caster Route to even work, Saber cannot be summoned by Shirou. The easiest thing to do would be to make Shirou find her instead of Kuzuki and go from there. Whatever the result, it would be a Holy Grail War far different from the ones present in the other three routes.

As for the rest of your post, I don't know what you mean.

Technically, Saber can still be summoned by Shiro. If Caster could identify Avalon and its lwgend, then you can bet that first order of business will be sumoning Saber instead of Kojiro.

Why? Because, as good as she is, likes most of Caster class, she's... a little squishy. Her reason summoning Assasin!Kojiro is mostly to have muscle to deal with Servants that goes physical. If there's chance to have legal muscle, a proper Saber in that, she wouldn't miss it, prana deprivation be damned.

Ignoring Rule Breaker for a moment, it is not wise for a Master to have two Servants and there's no way in Hell that Shirou would allow Medea to drain people for prana.

Shirou will need to resolve that prana from people problem if he's working to work with Caster.

Seeing as how the obvious change point would be to have Shirou find her instead of Kuzuki, she wouldn't be drawing prana from people right away. From there, it's a simple matter of seeing if Medea manages to convince Shirou to let her under certain limitations (a la Path of the King) or if Shirou manages to convince Medea that she doesn't need to do that.

The way he resolved the Saber's mana problem in canon? I have a feeling Caster would be okay with this.

Medea certainly would be but Shirou would not be, not at first anyway.

The easiest solution I see is that Medea simply isn't so low that she needs prana right now, wakes up at Shirou's place, and decides to treat like a tool for a while and gather prana from random folks without telling him. Then Shirou inadvertently provides her with the one thing she wants and things go from there.

The real, actual Shirou would never, ever, allow Caster to drain Prana from people. Ever. It goes against everything he stands for.

The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.

Would he be OK if she only drains such a tiny amount from each individual that any negative effects would be imperceptible if not nonexistent? It would probably be only enough to fulfill the bare minimum to sustain her existence, but that could supplemented via the... other method.

Also, please remember that Shirou, for all his ineptness as magus, can produce prana, enough to keep Saber (minimal) combat-ready, despite the fact that Saber unable to turn into Sleep-Mode Size and her skills eat quite a pack. And yes, just like Marq said, taking minimal amount of prana from people, or heck, just taking prana from anything that won't notice/ be noticed (plants, animals) should be viable. Or even better, simply lying through her teeth. "Anything he doesn't know, won't hurt him."

And even then, if Caster feels like it, she should be able to arrange her Temple on Shirou's territory, and if it got completed, then she shouldn't be worry about prana anymore.

Can they take Prana from plants?

Something like that has never come up before.
