Motion to pull
Per OP
Is that anti-form? Because Sora faces off against a heartless duplicate a few times, which would be an example.
Anyway. How about the last panel of this OotS strip? We can add the last couple of panels to the caption, possibly put it above the pic.
It's a picture of anti-form, which I'm not even sure if it counts for this trope. The heartless duplicate wields a keyblade and doesn't have those lines or blueish parts.
I think the 3rd to last and last panels of that comic together would work very well. The text of the narration bubbles still syncs up pretty well. "And the Gods, blinded by their petty squabbles, did not see the Snarl growing every day... Growing more hateful." Although even then, I'm not sure that shows that the Snarl is made of squabbles and hatred.

Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.Here's an idea. I could probably find a better quality version if people like it.
Look out mister samurai! There is an angry guy with a sword behind you.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Yeah, that could be any number of other things along with this trope.

We'd have to get permission, but does anyway like this picture?

Alt account of Angeldog 2437.
It has my vote.
I like it, but will it scale down? It's a very messy drawing.
Two versions, one with the text enlarged.
Also, I see a "Creative Commons Attribution-No Derivative Works 3.0 License." on the Deviant Art page. That means we're okay I guess?
Yes, but does the enlarging of the caption run afoul of the "don't alter" rule?
I agree we should ask permission for that.
And rather than enlarging the text, I say we tweak it to inform the trope more. There's even a line in the picture's description, "Scott, being filled with confusion and grief, loses himself to the dark side that he holds deep within himself..."
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Do you mean change the text on the picture to something different?
Yeah.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Bumped.
That's a really good one at showing the trope pretty quickly and without too much text. I'd say it's my favorite suggestion so far. My only concern is that the heart imagery on the shirt, combined with the trope's name (Which is a terrible name) may confuse people as to what the trope means.

Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.I'm wondering if the text is even necessary. The visuals do it for me.
Asked permission. Now for the waiting game.
It does sorta look like one guy bursting out of another guy's chest, Alien-style; the clothes being the same with inverted colors doesn't really read. I think the current image is better (bad, but better). I am probably alone in thinking that, consider it a dissenting opinion.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.I don't see how you'd interpret that: it's not a gory explosion—there's a glowing heart he's emerging from, as well as a Battle Aura surrounding him. It's a fully clothed, fully grown human-looking character. At the very least, it's clear that it's supernatural and not organic.
I agree that the text isn't necessary, but the background is kind of complicated. I can't see us managing to get rid of the black box and still have the picture look nice.
Background as in context or background as in the background of the image?
Anyway, the artist said they're happy with it used as long as they're referenced and linked up.

The current image is bad because it doesn't show the character is an embodiment of negative emotions and could give people many of the wrong impressions (It's a dark form of the hero, a Living Shadow, a Deadly Upgrade, not actually one of the heartless, etc...).
I like the Nega-Zack picture.

I like it.
The Heartless is a trope about monsters based on a person's negative emotions.
The current picture...
I think it should be pulled. I'm not sure if we'll be able to find an appropriate image for this trope, but the current image just adds confusion.
