Ha, that's nothing. I heard awhile ago that Will Ferrell was in talks to play George.

And in response to the OP: no, I do NOT want my Jetsons movie on acid, merci.

The Flinstones, Alvin And The Chipmunks, The Smurfs, The Adams Family... it was only a matter of time.

The only person in my opinion that could pull off George Jetson was John Ritter. And he's no longer with us.

I find this ironic since, according to the show, black people didn't survive to the future.

I'm surprised we didn't get a Jetsons movie back when the Flintstones was released. I suppose it was in development hell; in fact, I think I read something about that being the case.

If they keep to the tone set n the John Goodman film, it will be okay. I'm not sure about shiny reflective P Diddy outfits and Apple Store decorating .... which will probably be what we get. Sigh. (If anything lends itself to retro kitsch, it's The Jetsons.)

Robert Rodriguez was attached to direct at one point with Steve Martin and Diane Lane in the leads (William H. Macy was also rumored). He pulled out to direct Shorts.

Danny De Vito, naturally. Seriously, he's like, the unifier of all the cast wishlists I've seen. Danny De Vito as Mr. Spacely. And, after hearing him as Swackhammer, I think it's a good idea.

If they cast DeVito as Spacely, I just might consider watching it.

Now who should they cast as Jane, Elroy and Judy?

I shudder to think.

Judy will probably be a throwaway role to a pop star or something, similar to the animated feature movie (though I actually liked Tiffany in the role, purists weren't thrilled by it). I think Kristen Wiig would make a solid Jane. We need that retro, Brady bunch look along with a certain degree of snark.

They should do what Pixar did on The Incredibles and cast newcomers as the kids.

I'd love it if Janet Waldo got some kind of voice-over role, like Harvey Korman got in the Flintstones movie. Otherwise, I have no interest in seeing this.

Well, as I thought when the Yogi Bear movie was coming out, you can't really ruin something that was never that good to begin with. At least in my opinion it wasn't.

If the rumored live action Tom And Jerry and Bugs Bunny movies ever actually come out though I'll probably be a bit annoyed...

Why is everyone making a big deal on the live action Bugs Bunny film? It's Not like its something we've never seen before.
