..... Its still too soon for 1st April Jokes.
Has a compulsive editing and re-editing disorder.No. This is real.
Jonah FalconGreat, now I gotta cry for two reasons ;-;
1) Tears of happiness 2) I had wishful thinking of remaking first three xcom games with sprite graphics and expansing greatly on Apocalypse which is my fav one. Of course, that was unrealistic dream which I wasn't really planning to do, just dream about it xD
Note: Part 2 is partly joking because I'm not really crying about that one, i'm pretty sure most people who are fan of something have some fantasies about working on that thing they are fan of, but I don't think anybody takes them that seriously xD So yeah, happiness
*also angry because I read comments D:< Not just the "What is Xcom?.." comment, the ones that were disappointed it wasn't something else*

Well, this is a pleasant surprise. Next they'll announce that Fallout is getting a faithful sequel, and that Jagged Alliance 3 will be turn-based.
I hate to say I told you so, but I told you so.
2K Marin's XCOM was a way to get people to care about the IP, and I'll enjoy BOTH games. (Maybe now that people won't have to worry about XCOM being killed as a strategy title will enjoy both now, too.)

Oh.
My.
GOD!
I never thought that this day would come...
Okay, fine! I'm going to do something I'm sort of good at!YES
DOUBLE YES
TRIPLE YES WITH A CHERRY ON TOP
-Checks original X-COM playtime on steam-
-Notices it's hovering at 97 hours-
Bleye knows Sabers.Heh, funny thing about going back to the original: I got spoiled by games like Silent Storm and Jagged Alliance 2, so, what shouldn't surprise you, I was trying to do stuff like using keyboard shortcuts and other now-standard things.
"what the complete, unabridged, 4k ultra HD fuck with bonus features" - Mark Von LewisPS. Is 2K Games forgiven now?
Jonah FalconI never ever hated them in the first place, I though the wole complaining was exxagerated
http://steamcommunity.com/id/Xan-Xan/This is certainly surprising. Though the significant amount of backdraft the reboot got makes it less so.
Well since the guy who has been the most vocal about this in the forums (Deuxhero) got forum banned, we won't really know his response unless we PM him...
Huh, Firaxis is making this? Strange but awesome...

Give me cute or give me...something?Not going to happen. Something will ruin this. The new shooter will flop or something and the publishers will panic and vaporware happens.
"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984Given how long XCOM has been in development, it wouldn't surprise me if this one came out first.
"If you're out here why do I miss you so much?"You sound like deuxhero in that way
http://steamcommunity.com/id/Xan-Xan/XCOM is being delayed because the team was shifted to help out with Bio Shock Infinite, and will be released in 2013.
So, yes, this game will come out before the shooter.

Let's be a little optimistic about this, shall we?

Recent video game events have made optimism a bad idea.
That said.
I'm cautiously optimistic.
There is a good chance it will be very dumbed down.
What part of "optimistic" didnt you understand?
http://steamcommunity.com/id/Xan-Xan/Firaxis makes dumbed down strategy games?
Pretty much this.
Firaxis making the X:COM remake is pretty much best case scenario as far as I am concerned, so I am pretty optimistic about this (In fact it sounds so good, that I still doubt its real )
Has a compulsive editing and re-editing disorder. Here's hoping for better interface and game balance though.
Home of CBR Rumbles-in-Exile: rumbles.fr.yuku.comIf it were a random developer making this, I might be worried. But this is Firaxis, they make the Civilization games. They know how to make a compelling turn-based strategy game.
Firaxis makes INCOMPLETE strategy games. Then refuses to patch them outside of constantly churned DLC. Civ V completely robbed me of my faith in them. Hope you all like paying 99c for mutons, sectoids, blaster bombs, snakemen, etc.
2k doesn't get forgiven until they stop making different iterations of thier cash cow (bioshock) with different skins on it constantly. Since that company is run by suits intent on attacking the lowest common (fratboy dudebro whoa isn't that epic trash) they'll just keep reskinning that one game, marketing it to people who simply don't know better or don't care about quality.
Be prepared to giggle like a little girl.
