There was a bug in Oblivion where the game wouldn't render characters' face surfaces, just their teeth and eyes floating in mid-air. Combine this with the game's habit of suddenly zooming in on their face when they start a conversation, and the end result is me being massively creeped out every time it happens.
My borther had a creepy glitch in Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance.
In a VR mission, he, for a laugh, shot some C4 and blew it up.
Raiden's skin texture flooded the screen.
It was weird, man.
FIMFiction Account MLPMST PageThere was this N64 game based on Duck Dodgers In The Twenty Fourth And A Half Century that I rented once. One section of the game had some Mine Cart Madness going on. However, I sort of... rode the mine cart too far, clipped through something I shouldn't, and ended up out of bounds. My polygon began to ghost all over the screen, just filling it with various frozen poses of Daffy. When I fell off the cart, I was swimming in invisible water. It was weird, man.
Also, in Pokemon, I glitched myself up in a place I've never read about anyone else glitching before. You know how there's a PC in the room where you fight Giovanni in Silph Co.? I checked out my screwed-up Hall of Fame in there, and when I exited it, I was in a Glitch City version of Silph Co.! Freaked me out horribly.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaThere are those giant spiders in Skyrim...
Missingno could be pretty scary if you did it wrong. Save file corrupted forever...
Support Gravitaz on Kickstarter!Fallout 3 had this weird glitch where corpses turned into these stringy, constantly twisting masses that flew through the air in erratic patterns. Made worse by the fact that fast moving objects will sometimes cause damage, so until it turned out I could just pass right through them, I thought it was instant death waiting to happen.
It even once happened with an enemy that was still "alive". Namely, a Feral Ghoul Reaver, which kept shaking unnaturally until I delivered a Paralyzing Palm, causing it to ragdoll...and do the creepy stringy thing, this time in an enclosed space. I decided to just cut my losses and leave.
"If you're out here why do I miss you so much?"First of all, I love the idea of this thread, and hope it thrives.
The only glitch I can think of right now is Oblivion-related. It seems that some of the dungeons were incomplete when the game shipped. Sometimes, I'd mosey on into a new cave, only to repeatedly fall through a void until I moved myself over to the cave's actual terrain. It was quite shocking.
I liked it better when Questionable Casting was called WTH Casting AgencyFF to 2:50 to see the actual glitch. Don't worry buddy.
There's also this glitch in Fable 1 Vanilla on the 360 where the tatoo/haircut card or environment textures appear on the player character's body and makes you look totally gross. Like I entered a section Greatwood once and once it loaded, bam, my dude suddenly had vines growing across his body and flesh colored pupiless eyes.

Another one from Fallout 3, I was going through a cave and stumbled upon a dead Yao Guai sitting upright and vibrating erratically. For a second I thought one had come out of nowhere to attack me, and looking right at those dead eyes didn't help either.
Sorry, I can't hear you from my FLYING METAL BOX!The red pseusdog of STALKER, jesus, the games even crashes with gibberish stuff "srhudder"
http://steamcommunity.com/id/Xan-Xan/There's a bug in Fallout 3 and New Vegas where gibbed NP Cs will reassemble themselves and respawn as a floating collection of meat, organs and eyeballs. It's fucking terrifying.
I have no beard. I have no beard, and I must scream.Speaking of Fallout New Vegas, this bug scares me

Just because the glitch reminds me of the ghosts in Silent Hill 4.
A bomb's a bad choice for close range combat.I don't know many glitches, but the Realm's Sketch Glitch in Final Fantasy 6 can flip flop between good bad bug to game breaker. There are reports that the glitch can delete your save files.
Don't make me fire Pinky's party cannon. In Siren, when you reposition the camera behind your character, it will sometimes zoom through the companion following you and display the companion's standard-face all over the screen. In what is already a scary game that has you sitting on the edge of your seat, it's very terrifying the first time it happens.
I don't know if this is a bug, but it sure scared the hell out of me and my friends.
Join us in our quest to play all RPG video games! Moving on to disc 2 of Grandia! In Beyond Good & Evil, the camera will sometimes zoom inside Jade's head showing a creepy inside out face.
Fallout 3, lair of Fire Ant Queen. After killing all of her guardians, I happily go back. Suddenly, out of nowhere, giant is just in front of me, lights are out.
...yikes.
Suffice to say, I wasted whole clip of Chinese Assault Rifle before realizing that nothing really obscures my path.
Never again will I go there or to any closed space with those Ants, for that matter.
grahWas playing one of the underground bunker levels in STALKER (you know, the parts that are terrifying enough already) and was hiding in a corner looking for a snork that I'd heard and seen the shadow of. Then the sound cut out.
I know those levels have a lot of false sound effects to creep you out, but not hearing the wandering fire anomaly or the snork is worse than all that creaking metal and pipes.
In Minecraft there is a third-person mode. Being against an object makes the camera zoom in on Steve?. If you're right next to a wall, the camera can zoom in to the inside of Steve?'s head, with the face textures displaying on the inside of the head.

"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaIn Shadow Of The Colossus, you can kill Agro by jumping off his back once he starts down the collapsing bridge near the end of the game. You can then roam the map without him, but once you get far enough away his corpse will respawn; not right next to you, but just far enough away for you to see it. This will repeat every time you get far enough away from his body.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
It's not a bug so much as a feature, but in some Sherlock Holmes game they never bothered to add any animations for Watson. So he just teleports when you're not looking. Right behind you.
"Steel wins battles. Gold wins wars."^I take it you're referring to this game https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13YlEPwOfmk
A bomb's a bad choice for close range combat. It's probably terrifying when playing, but I have to say Ninja Watson actually makes me laugh.
WATSON DROWNED
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaI found the Weeping Watson hilarious and creepy.
In our heart, Mr. Ando will always be a penguin.
We all know about beneficial bugs and frustrating bugs, but what about bugs that just scare you?
For example, due to a scratch on my copy of Shadow Of The Colossus, during the Dirge(giant sand snake, colossus #10) fight, Wander and Agro would completely freeze in place...but the snake would just keep coming.
