I don't see why we should make a YKTTW for this, I just want someone other than me checking the description and correcting it if there's something wrong. Then we move the examples and we're done with this one and we can move to Impossible Item Drop.
BTW, I already renamed Randomly Drops to Random Drop. We should change the wiks when Rare Random Drop is ready.
The sandbox, just so people don't have to go to the previous page: Rare Random Drop

There are no heroes left in Man.New tropes benefit from going through YKTTW. Collect examples, get feedback on the title, etc.
Rhymes with "Protracted."People saying that the trs is the place for these things, that the trope already exists, even when you link them to the relevant thread...
Yeah, excuse me but I prefer the sandbox. Why don't you just check it in a moment instead of sending me to the YKTTW?

There are no heroes left in Man.This isn't really a new trope though. It's a split of an existing trope with enough examples and consensus on a name. It doesn't need to go through YKTTW. It actually doesn't do that much if anything for tropes that enter in that sort of state. They just tend to get ignored and not get enough hats because people don't have much to add.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickIt really does help to put the thing though YKTTW even for just three days to give it a bit of Wiki Magic before we send it on its way. (even if the page already exists.)
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Unless it's hit a certain level of completeness before hand in which case it's just throwing it down a hole and only people from the TRS thread linked to it will comment.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickInstead of discussing that, can anyone give an opinion about the article?
It's not that difficult.
There are no heroes left in Man.IMO the best if random drops as such go into Random Drop, while Money Spider is about monsters being the main or at least viable source of currency (as opposed to collection of "bones of your predecessor" with leftover equipment, getting hired to deliver 20 Bear Asses, etc), with or without a good reason.
...And even I make no pretense Of having more than common sense - R.W.Wood^ It's true; in many RPG's, slaying monsters is about the only way to acquire more cash.
An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.Well that's just part of how economies work.
Money Spider should be for enemies that drop currency, and we should act on our rather decisive crowner. Apart from that, is there anything left to do?
The sad, REAL American dichotomyYes there is. Nobody even bothered to check the sandbox I created for Rare Random Drop -> Rare Random Drop.
Can someone please check if the definition is fine before I move the examples there?
And someone could start a sandbox for Impossible Item Drop, don't expect me to pull all the crowner alone.

There are no heroes left in Man.Looks fine to me.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyQuestion: Random Drop is an Omnipresent Trope when it comes to gaming. Does it need examples or can we leave it without them? I'm right now editing it to move the examples to Rare Random Drop, so I'd like an answer as soon as possible.

There are no heroes left in Man.The Rare Random Drop sandbox starts of with a thesis, which is frequently considered a poor way to write a trope page (start with the definition, not a tangent). It has an accusatory tone towards the trope that it describes, which should be avoided. Something like this:
"An item in a video game which must be obtained by killing enemies, but will only drop a small portion of the time. An item or certain action may exist to increase the chance of the drop appearing, although usually only to a slightly large drop chance.
May contribute to Loot Drama in games involving multiple cooperating players, where several players may have to work together in order to obtain one of these rare items."
...would be much better.
Now Bloggier than ever before! It's a trope that everyone hates. The example as a thesis part may be corrected, but the accusatory tone not, because no one likes this trope, and it causes frustration to any player that wants the drop.
There are no heroes left in Man.Tropes Are Not Bad. Descriptions shouldn't be written in a tone that implies otherwise.
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.Ok, if someone wants to edit the sandbox please do it now. I'm trying to move the examples from Random Drop, and there are many of them. I made a pause so you can edit at your pleasure. When it's finished I'll resume with moving the examples.
There are no heroes left in Man.Random drops are really not bad in certain situations like World Of Warcraft 's rare mount drops while those who don't have them are envious those who do have them are usually very proud of it. (Luck, farming time etc.) even more so if it could be sold to other people. Or say Dragon Quest V where Mons are the rare drop (all of them.) and each game you end up with a different party.
Now Rare Random Drop for Infinity Plus One Gear (or worse to avoid a Player Punch...) can get hated if that is the only way.
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!I'm not saying the drops are hated. The fact that they are rare is what people hate. I thought I didn't have to explain this, it's pretty much obvious.
Is someone editing or going to edit the sandbox or not? If no one is I'll keep moving the examples.
There are no heroes left in Man.Here are some new Sandboxes to check:
Sandbox: Random Drop (I think this one shouldn't have examples)
Sandbox: Rare Random Drop (I cut tons of natter. Tons and tons of it.)

There are no heroes left in Man.People, I need an opinion about the sandboxes so we can move to the next point, and I want to know if someone is going to create the Impossible Item Drop page, because that wasn't one of my proposals and I don't know how the description should be.
There are no heroes left in Man.I think the Rare Random Drop and Random Drop sandboxes are fine and I agree with the notion of not having examples on the Random Drop page since it is so common in RPGs.
I apologize for not having much to add to them, but one thing I think would be a good idea would be to make the "please don't add an example if it is not a major offender and please avoid Natter" part of Rare Random Drop only appear when someone is editing the page (i.e., put the first word of the line in between percent signs). I feel like that will make the page look nicer and generally makes more sense, since only people actually editing the page need to see that warning. Plus, I am not sure that a natter warning is going to do much to help, but I suppose it could not really hurt.
I went ahead and made the change I mentioned above to the sandbox, but I would definitely like to know what you think about it.

"irhgT nm0w tehre might b ea lotof th1nmgs i dont udarstannd, ubt oim ujst goinjg to keepfollowing this pazth i belieove iN !!!!!1 dI thought of that, but I think that people go directly to the parts they want to edit and don't notice the percents.
In fact I think it may be worth considering to leave Rare Random Drop without examples too, and simply add "this page just explains a Gameplay Mechanic, add any example in the works page", and prevent this way any Natter at all.
EDIT: I already did this for Sandbox.Random Drop

There are no heroes left in Man.Meh, I don't see a reason to limit examples. They are the heart and soul of a trope. Well, that's what Janitor says, anyway.
Rhymes with "Protracted."
Crown Description:
NOTE: these options are not mutually exclusive, so we can implement multiple or all of them. In addition, we'll be YKTTW'ing a page tentatively called Generous Enemy Drop, which is for enemies that cause a status effect and drop a cure for that condition.
Just make a YKTTW.
