TVTropes Skype Theatre

Okay, so I got an idea: there are a fair few of us on the forum who like plays and stuff, well why not have some Skype calls in which we do readings of plays? Sounds like it could be fun.

Granted, I have a cold, a headache, and boredom, so my judgment may be impaired.

I'd be totally on board with this if I didn't lack

a) Skype b) Acting talent c) Time

Good idea though. Hopefully something comes of it (:

I'd LOVE to take part, but that's mostly because I'm desperate for any form of social interaction. Will we do musicals?

Not unless we have a very good pianist and somehow everyone's able to get access to the score, not to mention the difficulties of managing to get all that coordinated over a group Skype call. So probably no - just some straight plays that can be easily found online due to being in the public domain.

However, It would need to be a PG-13 or less rated play. I refuse to say anything worse than f***, or describe in explicit detail a [CENSORED].

I don't have Skype but I could get it with minimal effort. Is Magic online? It probably is if it's in the PD. I have a LOT of plays but no Chesterton.

The only thing I'd throw out which could be more hilarious is bad fanfiction, with each person voicing a character.

Since people have mentioned this here and there, we really should become organized about doing this. Such as posting our Skype accounts to bring this together.

Sorry for the double post.

We've met on Skype now... Somewhat, and are deciding what our first show will be. At the moment, we have 3-4 actors and, at the moment, our show seems to be Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead.

We've also briefly discussed recording it and posting the results. Anyone else interested?
