PARTY PARTY PARTY I WANNA HAVE A PARTY
#77: Dec 11th 2011 at 11:38:54 PM

Decided to change from Arjuna to Ashwatthama.

  • Name: Ashwatthama
  • Gender: Male
  • Height/Weight: 2m, 68 kg
  • Myth of Origin: Mahābhārata
  • Servant Class: Archer
  • Character Alignment: Neutral Evil
  • Parameters:
    • Strength (C)
    • Mana (A)
    • Agility (C)
    • Endurance (C)
    • Luck (E)
  • Class Skills:
    • Independent Action (A+)
      • Can exist on his own independent of his master for an indefinite amount of time, but usage of his Noble Phantasm will be hindered without receiving more prana.
    • Magic Resistance (E)
      • Cannot negate magic, but magical damage is weakened
  • Personal Skills:
    • Disengage (B)
      • An expert at slipping away from direct confrontation to assume a more advantageous position
    • Clairvoyance (B)
      • He can keep track of fast moving projectiles up to 4 km/s and possesses enhanced eyesight, as well as night vision
    • Discernment of the Poor (A)
      • He will not be deceived by excuses and deceptions from words. (It expresses the power to grasp the true nature of the opponent possessed by Karna, who was blessed with the opportunity to inquire about the life and value of the weak due being someone without a single relative)
    • Scorn of Krishna (A)
      • Ashwatthama's body is ravaged by many diseases and other afflictions, all of which are incurable and will never heal. As such, all physical attributes (Strength, Agility, Endurance) are reduced
  • Noble Phantasm:
    • Brahmastra (A++), the mighty weapon forged by Brahma. Said to be completely unstoppable, no defense or counterattack is capable of blocking it, and it never misses its mark. It is also said to be capable of striking down any enemy, regardless of their strength, and soiling the ground of their homeland for 12 years, striking everything that steps upon it infertile. The truth behind this terrifying weapon is best likened to a mana vacuum. Once the weapon is invoked through a physical medium using a keycode phrase or gesture, the user announces his intent and desired target, Brahmastra lets fly towards its target, forcibly ripping massive amounts of mana from the environment. Plants, animals, people, even the earth itself between Brahmastra and its target wither and die. The projectile, now charged with an excess of mana, seeks out its target with deadly accuracy, striking them down and overloading their body with a concentrated burst of mana. This weapon is appropriately ranked Anti-Army.
    • Brahmashira (EX), the weapon which surpasses even Brahmastra. If Brahmastra is a weapon which can slay any target without fail, then Brahmashira is a weapon which can slay all targets without fail. Brahmashira is Brahmastra, but more. More speed, more precision between multiple targets, more sheer destructive force. It's ranking could be considered on the level of Anti-Nation. But such power comes at a heavy price. The spiritual recoil of merely invoking Brahmashira nearly destroys Ashwatthama's body, never mind the fallout of actually firing it. Not only that, but prana consumption for this weapon is so exorbitant that even an accomplished magus would need to rest for upwards of a few days before even thinking of invoking Brahmastra again, let alone Brahmashira. It is certainly the last laugh, and just as certainly the last resort.
  • Appearance: Tall, and skinny. Black hair, blue eyes. Dresses plainly in a set of simple robes and straw sandals. He is covered from head to toe in bandages, which both cover and shield his grotesque form. After being cursed by Krishna, Ashwatthama's body is ravaged by leprosy and all manner of other disease, leaving his skin a festering carpet of screaming pustules and raw, open sores. While the bandages cover most of this, the blood and leaking fluids can still be seen seeping through the guaze.
  • Personality: Ashwatthama, at first glance, is a very embittered individual. After being cursed and cast out by the gods and shunned by all thanks to his failure in the battle against Arjuna, life was nothing but misfortunes for Ashwatthama, all the way up until his death. His immense loathing of the gods and their heroes only grew over the millenia, boiling over as he festered and stewed in his own juices. While it may initially seem that Ashwatthama is cold, it is the exact opposite. He is not reserved or reclusive in any way. Just repugnant, both physically and emotionally. He despises the successful and blessed, his grudge having long outgrown simply the gods, and will do whatever he can to bring them to ruin. Heroes, especially the self-righteous kind, are a favorite target of his, upon which he inflicts absolutely brutal savagery. Ashwatthama is sadistic, cruel, and absolutely unrelenting. A man driven by hatred, and a parasitic grudge that has him by the throat.

Oh, um, yes. That would probably be a good idea, ahah. For Servants, use this sheet:

  • Class:
  • True Name: With a link to a source of information, if possible.
  • Gender:
  • Height/Weight:
  • Alignment: (D&D alignments, although take it with a pinch of salt. Gilgamesh of all people was canonically Chaotic Good, after all. >.>)
  • Appearance:
  • Personality:
  • Stats: (From E to A+, E being the worst, A+ being the highest)
    • Strength:
    • Endurance:
    • Agility:
    • Magical Energy:
    • Luck:
    • Noble Phantasm (Rank):
  • Skills:
  • Noble Phantasms:

...And Masters use this one:

  • Name:
  • Appearance:
  • Personality:
  • History: You can be as in-depth as you wish, but aim to be somewhat concise.
  • Abilities: Things like specialities, origins and elemental affinities, as well as general ability as a magus. If the Master has a Mystic Code then it should be listed here too. Anyone with something cheesy like a Reality Marble, high level Mystic Eyes (eg. Death Perception or Cybele), or who is a vampire or demon-hybrid (amongst other things) will be instantly vetoed (I know I shouldn't have to say this, but just in case anyone gets any ideas >.>).

So, I'll try and write up Achilles as Berserker and see what the hell comes out. More likely to go for a Master but, hey, someone might want to use it as a base.

Now, remind me, did he or did he not rout the entire damn Trojan army when he lost it? XD

Also, where would the Nigh-Invulnerable thing fit into the format?

  • Class: (Fake)Assassin
  • True Name: Jack the Ripper
  • Gender: Female
  • Height/Weight: 150cm, 45kg
  • Alignment: Chaotic Evil
  • Appearance: The Most Adorable Former Serial Killer
  • Personality: The perpetrator of a series of bizarre murders in 19th Century England. A young girl filled with contradictions, possessing properties of both day and night. Her personality is pure, but cruel at the same time. Though her manner of speech is innocent, she is quick of thought. She is rational, but is emotionally weak. She responds cruelly to others' ill will, but is soft against good will. And although she wears revealing clothing, she is shy, and doesn't go out during the day. She yearns strongly for a mother, and if her Master is female, she will insist on calling them "Mother".
  • Stats:
    • Strength: C
    • Endurance: C
    • Agility: A
    • Magical Energy: C
    • Luck: E
    • Noble Phantasm: C
  • Skills:
    • Presence Concealment: A+
      • To suppress one's presence as a Servant, a Skill suitable for covert operations. By completely suppressing her presence, it becomes nearly impossible to be detected. However, the rank in Presence Concealment falls greatly when making preparations to attack. This weakness is compensated by "Murderer of the Misty Night" and performance of a perfect surprise attack becomes possible.
    • Murderer of the Misty Night: A
      • Concerning the special trait of a murderer instead of an assassin, her as the assailant will always obtain the initiative over the opponent as the victim. However, unconditionally obtaining the initiative happens only at night. During daytime, a Luck Check is necessary. From the conditions, it is believed that all the victims of Jack the Ripper were assailed when unguarded.
    • Information Erasure: B
      • At the moment the battle ends, information such as her abilities, true name and appearance traits vanish from the memories and records of the opponent and witnesses. The effectiveness does not change even if the battle was in broad daylight or in regards the surveillance of machines such as cameras. To oppose this, one must be lead to her identity by logic and analysis from the evidence left at the scene.
    • Surgical Procedure: E
      • It is possible to provide treatment to Master and oneself by using a bloodstained surgical knife. By appearance no guarantees can be made, but she manages somehow. Even with techniques from 120 years ago, it is a little better thanks to the addition of magical power. The victims of Jack the Ripper were killed in ways that would require anatomic knowledge, such as the surgical removal of specific internal organs.
  • Noble Phantasms:
    • Maria the Ripper: The Holy Mother of Dismemberment:
      • Usually they are four knifes of D Rank, but when the conditions are put together, the grudge of "the 80000 children told to exist in the slums of London at the time, which were cast away by prostitutes for the sake of their life-style and who couldn't even become prostitutes themselves" is added up and a brutal effect is displayed. The conditions are the following three. 1."It is night-time", 2."the target is a woman (or female)" and 3."it is misty". By using this Noble Phantasm when all conditions are in place, it will unarguably expel out the contents of the target's body and turn her into a dismembered body. In cases when all conditions are not met, it is limited to simply giving damage, but even then the power jumps up whenever so much as one of the conditions are fulfilled. Because this Noble Phantasm is not the attack from the knifes but a kind of curse, it can be used even from long distances. To protect against this Noble Phantasm it is not physical defensive power but resistance from curses that is necessary.
    • The Mist: Darkness Mist Capital
      • A Bounded Field Noble Phantasm that stretches a bounded field of mist. The mist itself, which was originated from prana, is the Noble Phantasm. A form of "clearing out people", if someone who is not a magus forcibly remains inside the bounded-field, he will die after a few turns. A magus won't die at once, but he will continuously receive damage. A Heroic Spirit will not take damage, but AGI will suffer a Rank-Down. The user of the Noble Phantasm can select who to give and who not to give these effect among those inside the mist. Since the sense of direction is lost because of the mist, it becomes necessary employ either some sort of Magecraft or the Skill Instinct with B Rank or higher to escape. The extensive smog of coal that was emitted in large amounts since the Industrial Revolution became a mist of sulfuric acid in the 1950s and caused a great disaster in London. "The Mist" is Noble Phantasm that reproduces that "mist of death".

My Master will get a bio eventually. Probably going with a villainous Master, to contrast shy little Jack.

  • Class: True Assassin
  • True Name: Hassan i Sabbah (Rashid ad-Din Sinan)
  • Gender: male
  • Height/ Weight: 5ā€™11ā€/184 lbs
  • Alignment: Lawful Evil
  • Appearance: a sinister figure with unnaturally dark skin and a lean, limber frame; Assassinā€™s body is swathed in black robes, and his face is concealed behind a bleached white skull mask. Unlike most Assassins, his robes are kempt and have some colour on them; this mainly consists of a red trim on the hems of his sleeves and the bottom of his surplice, as well as a red sash which goes from his left shoulder to his right hip. His outfit includes a deep hood, which he often pulls over his head to further conceal his face; and finally, he wears a fingerless glove on his left hand, while the right is swathed in heavy wrappings like mummy gauze.
  • Personality: cold and ruthless, True Assassin is well aware of his limitations as a Servant; he would much prefer to engage his opponents from afar, striking from the shadows rather than confronting them directly, and he has a knack for reading people's character to see what it is that makes them tick and what they most fear. While loyal to his master, he does not particularly value their life; in his eyes, they will be seen—at least initially—as little more than a means to an end at best, and a considerable liability at worst. While normally efficient and unemotional, True Assassin does have a sadistic streak; he seems to gain a perverse pleasure from the suffering of his foes, and takes enjoyment in inflicting both physical and psychological pain on them by striking at their loved ones.
  • Stats: (From E to A+, E being the worst, A+ being the highest)
    • Strength: C
    • Endurance: D
    • Agility: A
    • Magical Energy: C
    • Luck: E
    • Noble Phantasm (Rank): C
  • Class Abilities:
    • Presence Concealment: A+ (the capacity to hide one's presence as a Servant. It is possible to disappear completely and become almost impossible to be detected. However, efficacy will decrease once preparations to attack are taken.)
  • Skills:
    • Poison Usage: B+ (the ability to create various poisons, as well as the skills to use them properly and without harm to oneself. At this rank, True Assassin is skilled enough to create highly-lethal toxins capable of killing an ordinary man within five minutes from a single dose, and can apply this solution to the blades of his throwing knives quite rapidly; in addition, his constant handling of and exposure to various poisons has made him highly resistant to all but the most potent of supernatural toxins.)
    • Projectiles (throwing knives): B (expertise for throwing projectile weapons, in this case daggers; in True Assassin's hands, thrown projectile weapons are comparable to bullets.)
    • Protection from Wind: A (a charm originated from the Middle East, used mainly for protection against sandstorms and Jinns.)
    • Self-Modification: C (The aptitude to merge his own flesh with body parts of others, the higher the ranking in this skill the further away one is from being a proper hero. True Assassin fused the Eye of Bahamut to his own palm in this fashion.)
  • Noble Phantasms:
    • Zabaniya: anti-unit, C+

Zabaniya: Delusional Gazeā€”a variation of the Noble Phantasm shared by all true Assassins, and the only one available to this particular Hassan. It is the Eye of the giant fish known as Bahamut, and it is located on the palm of his right hand; the eye is normally closed, and Assassin keeps it concealed beneath thick wrappings to prevent it from being damaged. When the eye is opened, meeting its gaze for even a split-second will cause the beholder incredible mental pain, and staring into its abysmal pupil for too long can utterly destroy the victimā€™s mind as they behold things and secrets which man was not meant to know. The only way to avoid this effect is to not look at the Eye of Bahamut; there must be sustained eye-contact between the target and the eye itself in order for its mind-sundering power to take effect. Keeping the eye open places a considerable drain on Assassinā€™s prana reserves; he only has enough to keep this Noble Phantasm active for nine seconds at the very most. By causing the Eye to blink rapidly, Assassin can instead use it to fire lethal beams of energy at his foes; while still draining, this particular usage puts far less strain on his prana supply than its mind-breaking gaze.

I'll have a Master up later on; for now, I just wanted to get this down.

Right, well, here we go:

  • Class: Berserker
  • True Name: Achilles AchilleĆa*
  • Gender: Female. Against all probability. There seems to be a law that one definitively male heroic figure is the wrong damn sex. So... here we are!
  • Height/Weight: 1.8m, 75kg.
  • Alignment: Chaotic Neutral. Self-centred, hot-tempered... yup, very fitting, this. Alternatively, Chaotic Mad.
  • Appearance: Achilles is... well, apart from being rather tall, she's also rather muscular. Not terribly surprising, given roles and attitudes, and neither is the tan. It's not as if the Mediterrannean is a particularly wet and windy place. Aside from that, her features are generally befitting the most attractive person present in the armies of the Trojan War, certainly qualifying as someone that might be asked to model for statues. Her clothing is kind of outdated, even if nothing else is, and her Master will probably want to foist something less obtrusive on her... as well as something that isn't both open and the side and kind of exclusive of the possibility of underwear. Said chiton is a lovely purple colour, though. Oh, and it seems Achilles missed the chance to pin her (black, how utterly surprising) hair up like that.
  • Personality: Prone to moping, prone to drinking, prone to fighting, and prone to sleeping with slaves. Such that Agamemnon's pilfering of one lead to the whole Achilles in His Tent thing. Oh, and with an incredibly short temper that tended to explode whenever anything went wrong. Achilles was a Berserker when alive, really.
  • Stats:
    • Strength: A
    • Endurance: E+
    • Agility: A+
    • Magical Energy: B
    • Luck: E+*
    • Noble Phantasm (Rank): A
  • Skills:
    • Divinity: A
      • Achilles' mother was Thetis, remember? She also seems to have some bizarre capability to produce implausibly powerful children buuuuut that's not strictly relevant.
    • Eternal Arms Mastership: A+
      • Mastership of combat arts has reached the point of being said to be unrivaled in one's era. By complete merging of mind, body and technique, it is possible to make use of full fighting skills even when under the influence of any sort of mental hindrance.*
    • Mad Enhancement: B
      • Rank up for all parameters, but takes away most of their sanity.*
    • Charisma: A (not usable with Mad Enhancement, unsurprisingly)
      • The absolute limit of what a person can achieve, popularity wise. The abilities of allies are increased when fighting. Most handsome* of the heroes at Troy, inspired Alexander the Great, and is the focus of the Iliad. Oh, and lead the Myrmidons.
    • Military Tactics: E (not usable with Mad Enhancement, for obvious reasons)
      • Bonuses to own anti-army Phantasms and defending against others'. This is the person who tended to ignore their army, sulk, and go on army-flattening rampages. Obviously, they don't really care.
  • Noble Phantasms:
    • Achilles' Spear: B, Anti-Unit
      • Any wound inflicted by this spear, which possibly the most dull thing on Achilles' person, will not heal in any way, shape or form without Achilles' tending to it. Ancient Greek healthcare: doubtless nearly as bad as the injury.
    • Bathed in the Styx: A+
      • As much a part of Achilles as God Hand, it has the alarming side effect that no damage can be dealt to any part of their person than their heel. Which one is a very good question; until then this means there's a walking Implacable Man here.
    • Achilles Armour: B
      • Utterly useless to the person themselves, this exists pretty much entirely to be bestowed upon their Master or whoever is around. Due to the prana upkeep, it's kind of impractical to have around at all times (not to mention something Mad Enhanced Achilles would ever think of) and as such... isn't that helpful. Forged by Hephaestus, this armour takes the form of a silver-and-gold... whatever the Master thinks of, really. Whatever it covers is up to them; the armour proper will block any 'normal' attack of A rank or below (or D or E rank Noble Phantasms) but that relies on, for instance, there being a helmet to block head-shots. And, again, prana usage. Still cheaper than the Shield of Ajax, though... XD

I don't care if it's rejected that much, I'm more concerned about doing an interesting Master, anyway. Still, there we go.

... It seems that the Berserker class tends towards raw strength, anyway. XD

[up][up] ... Yes... XD

There are surprisingly few legendary bows/projectile weapons. So Brahmastra it was, once I decided Arjuna was way too much of a Purity Sue. And aside from Arjuna and Krishna (the physical avatar of the god Vishnu), the only one to ever wield it successfully was Ashwatthama.

He also happened to be much more of a compelling character, even before his fall from grace and subsequent cursing. I sort of took him and reinvented him with the fallout of that in mind.

Yeah, he can't use Brahmastra because of his curse.

Brahmastra is a pretty bitchin' weapon though. It's the ultimate point and click interface. Pick up a blade of grass, announce your intent and target, and it dies. Without fail and with maximum fallout. It can even target the unborn.

No, it can be invoked, withdrawn, and invoked again without limit as long as one knows both the invocation and withdrawal processes. The only reason Ashwatthama couldn't do so in his battle against Arjuna was he didn't know how to withdraw it, and thusly couldn't use it more than once. For this, I'm assuming he pieced it together either just before or shortly after his death.

Because making everything A+ wouldn't be true to the stories these characters are based on.

When you include the heel thing, Achilles is about as tough as a toddler. Hence the stupidly low Endurance. Assuming I have Endurance right.

Yes, Ash (which is what I shall refer to him as, as his full name is hard to remember >.<) is accepted, as are Jack, Hassan and Achilles. And holy lord is Achilles a tank. >.< Definitely fitting for Berserker, seeing what the other ones were like.

@pigeon: The stats are supposed to fit the hero's legend. And everyone has strengths and weaknesses, so no Servant is going to have all As or something. Hell, even Gilgamesh, arguably the strongest of all Servants, had mostly Bs in his stats (in Fate Zero, at least).
