Probably.
I've enjoyed a lot of the less popular ones, heh.
Sonic 06 is really best played with multiple people, since it can easily be more funny since we can mock each other when we screw up. Or the multiplayer(which is actually pretty good). Is it a good game? NOPE. Is it a bad game? Nah, just mediocre, truthfully. It's not unplayable or broken, just near there.
Quest 64 threadIt is pretty bad if you hate loading times. Don't forget that over 10% of that LP was NOW LOADING...
Aside from Sonic The Hedgehog, there's Metal Gear, although that has a following large enough to counter that, there's also Red Faction (I blame Yahtzee for that, or, more like Yahtzee's fans), but the king of undeserved hatedom is Call Of Duty. EVERYONE hates Co D or Co D players just because it's the "cool" thing to do. It's annoying.
Civilization V. Every single non professional review and testimony I heard all scream "THIS SUCKS! THEY RUINED CIV! WHY CAN'T THIS BE MORE LIKE CIV IV? I'M GOING TO INSTALL ALL THESE MODS THAT TURN THIS GAME INTO CIV IV!"
I dunno, I REALLY liked the streamlining, I don't miss religion (I always thought it to be rather convoluted), and I like that combat is actually STRATEGIC instead of moving Stacks of Doom around.
One complain I keep hearing is how awful the AI is. Maybe I am immune to that because I've always been godawful at Civ games (but love them anyway) so I stick with the lower difficulties. Anyway, I think Civ V gets WAY too much hate.
@TARDISES: I wish that was what bothered me. I just take a drink or something. Screwing up and then getting them is much worse.
Quest 64 thread@That One Guy: I can't speak for everyone that hates Co D, but I only strongly dislike it because I thinks it's a genuinely bad series.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."I dislike that series because GENERIC MILITARY FPS.
Seriously, that sums up most of the FPS genre recently.
Final Fantasy IV on this forum.
I don't know what it is but there seems to be unwarranted venom directed at the game.
Yeah, I don't really get the hate for it. Yeah, it didn't age that well, but the story still holds up somewhat well today, and it had some thought put into it. (Unlike it's sequel.)
You got some dirt on you. Here's some more!I don't get the hate either. I do remember a writer of a FFIV walkthrough hating how the game had zero character customization whatsoever (generally, he felt the game was average by Final Fantasy standards). The DS version was probably a big improvement for people put off by that element of the original. Incidentally, I'm playing the Wii Ware sequel now. It has more grinding than I'm used to, but it's still genuinely fun. A whole lot better than some FFVII sequels like Dirge of Cerberus (*insert joke about "not saying much" here*).
"What's out there? What's waiting for me?"Pretty much any Sonic game I've ever played past Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Mega Man Battle Network, and Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3.

Ultimate gets hate?
There's plenty of reasons for it. One of the biggest being Capcom Sequel Stagnation. And the game was announced sometime shortly after Megaman legends 3 got canceled, so fans still had quite the bitter taste in their mouths.
You got some dirt on you. Here's some more! The fact it's cool has nothing to do with the hatred for Call of Duty.
Easy street has no parking signs. It has partly to do with it.
Seeing all these piss ant tropers trying to talk tough makes me laugh. If Matrix were here, he'd laugh too. It's more the influence it's had on gaming and the way it's widened the consumer base.
Support Gravitaz on Kickstarter!I've hated it since before I knew it was a popular series or the 'cool' thing to do.
Sounds like me and most Japanese RPG's
Support Gravitaz on Kickstarter!Everything popular is overhated, not just games, that its, if something popular is your favorie thing, its not applied then -.-
http://steamcommunity.com/id/Xan-Xan/...I don't like that generic military FPS because... well, just look at how I described it!
Here's my gripe with the hatin' on Call Of Duty:
Yes, it's a "GENERIC MILITARY SHOOTER", yes, it has a bunch of angry little kids playing it on XBOX Live and SEN. Are those kids annoying? Yes they are.
That being said, as a "GENERIC MILITARY SHOOTER", it's entirely competent at that. The WWII era of the games were fantastic, heck, Call Of Duty 2 is still one of my favorite shooters of all time. Modern Warfare was damn good, even in its single player component, Modern Warfare 2, on the other hand, had a bunch of flops with it. Every franchise does this, having a really bad game in it, just because Modern Warfare 2 was marketed so much doesn't justify the tremendous amounts of hate it got for it. Black Ops was a bit Mind Screwy, but other than that it was fun.
I just don't get how "GENERIC MILITARY SHOOTERS" get so much hate just because they consist of only "running and shooting stuff". That's what they do, if you don't like then just don't fucking play it, but don't come here knocking down my door because I happen to enjoy playing these kind of games online.
No, that doesn't mean I'm cool with the whole thing, at best, the Call Of Duty series' after Modern Warfare is just competent. I'd play them for the same reason I'd watch a dumb action movie, to pass some time. If I wanted something deeper I'd go play some older games, but that's not to say the games are irredeemably awful.
Most people hate on it because all of these "GENERIC MILITARY SHOOTERS" are Acceptable Targets just because they sell a lot and they're dumb, washed out "SHOOT HERE, WATCH OUT, ARR PEE GEE" games, and because "gaming is SO dead ever since these silly children and their 'consoles' started to play. Ugh, it's revolting" (no, I have nothing against PC Gamers and the like, heck, most of my game money is spent on old games I'd like to replay).
And that's my two cents on the subject.
/Rant
Hate and criticism of the Modern Warfare games generally comes in several forms, some which I understand, some I don't.
The understandable reasons are that 1. every game is a rehash, no innovation, 2. way too much testosterone-filled rubbish in the main plot and 3. the stereotypical image of a MW player is...not very positive.
But then there's one form of bitching about the series that really irritates me: "It's too realistic!"/"Why would you want to play a game set in the real world?" Many of the people that say this then make it clear they cannot imagine FP Ses as anything other than something like MW or Halo and then imply it is a creatively bankrupt genre, and that people aren't even allowed to enjoy it! I feel targeted whenever they say shit like that, which is pretty insulting to say the least.

Wait how is Co D realistic? Aside from being set in real life.
That's the point: It's not. But some just think it stars real life weapons, real life locations and apparently that's "realistic" compared to their favorite JRP Gs or whatnot. Funnily enough, Hollywood action movies don't seem to be judged by the same 'realism' standard.

Indeed. Am I the only Sonic fan to have actually enjoyed pretty much every Sonic game they've played? (...And no, I did not play 06. My experience of that is pokecapn's LP. And yes, I did play the megadrive games.)
