He should just pick one of other girls. That would solve everything. Though if that happened we wouldn't see Akikos selfdestruct tendences anymore, which would be shame.

[up]That's assuming the others would accept his choice, which, for the genre, isn't what usually happens.

Hmmm. So Akito was left on his own after his sister was adopted and only adopted by another family later? And even then that family probably did it because they intended to engage him to their daughter. That's terrible. And mean.

I wonder if, like in the novels, we are going to see a Not Blood Siblings reveal? It could explain why only Akiko was adopted at first.

Swimsuit episode is out. No metter how daring and crazy other girls were, Gin is pure win for me this timeevil grin.

[up] Can you spoil me? I stoped reading novels after that reveal in pure anoyance, so I don't know any details, except they are both twins and not related...

[up][up]In this genre protagonist usualy DOESN'T pick girl. If he does shows either ends or girls accept it and until he change mind they are just wangsting around.

[up] Sorry, I read them all in one go, and nothing's been translated since then anyway. Volume 3 ends with the reveal, as you are probably aware. I don't really like the reveal either as Akito and Akiko really look and seem like they should be related and it makes Akito's motives seem slightly doubtful. Don't worry, the anime is almost certainly a different continuity, we just don't know how different.

As for the swimsuit episode, it was quite absurd. But the President did get me through it by being doubly absurd - like holding up a piece of string and claiming it was a swimsuit. Or holding up a tiny thing and claiming it was a male swimsuit. Or just plain, not wearing a swimsuit when she should have been wearing something.

Aaaand it looks like the antics of the girls this time finally became too much for Akito.

But hilariously Akito appears to have now been immunised to swimsuit fanservice.

Of topic: did you read Sayonara piano sonata? I think that should be animated instead...

I haven't. I might take a look at it though.

It's straughtforward romance/slice of life at a glance. It also looks like there's a manga with a fair bit translated too.

Do you recommend it?

Yes I do, that music theme makes it realy interesting (i wanna this to be animated mainly to hear itevil grin) and it has one awesome female character . You can try manga beforehand, it covers whole first volume. Anyway if you like president in Oni Ai. You will definitely love it.

Ah... Ordinarily I kinda don't like the president (especially not in rapist mode), it's just the she was so over the top this ep she was the funny.

She would be a decent example of Lovable Sex Maniac if only she was given a little more personality.

I think episode 8 was kind of lackluster even for your average swimsuit episode. Girls in swimsuits does not an episode make.

Arashi won this episode, pretty much all rounds. Her accidental attack against Gin was funny, as were most of her choices (and the string, especially when you realised that was all it was). I do think her choice for Akito looked a little small, though. I think it would chafe, probably even more than the seashell bikini (which was her worst), though I can't say I've tried either.

The yandere-looking Ana wasn't bad, so she takes second.

Akiko was pleasant here, actually. She was cute.

Kaoruko's small parts were positive. She had a nice expression at the end, and the way both of them completely ignored that she was wearing a bikini is one of the reasons I watch the show.

I'm not sure I liked any of the swimsuits, from an aesthetic/sexy point of view. Akito's choices were overall better than the girls', which says a lot, but I can't really say much since we never saw him actually wearing them.

Episode 9. Was that a doppler effect on Gin's voice when she ran through home in the beginning?

Like Gin before the above, Ana sounded like a tsundere. However, she did seem to be genuinely upset.

This episode is a win for Akiko. She's doing a little more than what her brother claims to want, but ultimately did nothing over the top.

I also like how reasonable prez was in the discussion.

I was very surprised by Akiko this episode. It's almost like she's...normal.

[up] Not just her, even Prez was... not only reasonable, but the most reasonable of the girls in this episode. Weird.

I now ship Ginbei x Kitty alongside Nasuhara x Every Damn Person in the Main Cast Except Maybe Prez.

Interesting that this show decides to give us a flashback episode now of all times. It certainly is a good way to, uhh, level the playing field (for some reason I think Imouto and Nasuhara have a lot of the screetime).

Episode 10.

Lots of Gin, as expected. She reminded me a lot of Ana in the way she was speaking, really. And it was a nice harem she picked out. A Haruhi-looking Girl Next Door, a tomboy note , a deceptively perverted bookworm, a tsundere, and a bouncy dojikko.

Jumping mad Akiko was cute.

This episode is a clear win for Prez, and I'm not talking about the contest. It was all too expected, though. And that part about her eye is somewhat reminiscent of another current series that shall remain unnamed. Is it too current for a reference? Then again, it's late in the season...

[up]Probably the other way around for me.

Gin setting her classmates on Akito to get rid of him was hillairious. I don't know what she had on those girls, but creating him that unwanted harem was truly master work.

Watched the first episode.

Preposterously sexual opening, unbelievably shallow girls, and awful dialogues.

I find it funny to call the characters shallow after watching only a single episode that barely does more than introduce them.

I could have told you in a moment you would dislike this show dRoy.

I find some freshness in how the male lead guy acts, but other than that if you are looking for continuous plot and character development we have yet to see them in this show.

Which is shame because there are things here that could be built upon (to name a few, Akito's backstory, the family rivalries, Gin's trading abilities, and Ana).

Oh, you watch this show as well. Yeah, I should hav asked you first.

From my experience, if the pilot is dull or only mildly amusing, it is worth checking. If it is so terrible that it fuels anger toward the creators, it is safe to drop it.

I will be fair; the main lead's casual reaction is amusing. It only makes me hate Akiko and everyone else even more. It's a shame, really; Akiko and Ana (I hated the whole pun thing, by the way) are pretty cute.

[up][up]I think basically all comedies, non-continuity or character development heavy shows tend to do comparatively little to what their setting and base plot set up.

[up]I really don't like that pun either. She stops with it, though. And my favourite episode with her is when Akito's helping her move in and stuff, which was the third episode. Akito's actually one of my favourite harem leads in all series I've seen. Akiko's mainly cute either when she's shot down, or when she's not as aggressive, and actually acts more like a sister.

Episode 11. Nani Kore!? The Hell!?

That Harem Ending dream sequence. Just... That.

Honestly this show has consistently been below average mediocre, but that's just weird, and poor planning seems to be showing with the rest of the episode plots being somewhat messily dropped. And hearing about the Anna-Akiko backstory was actually intriguing.

On the other hand, if this episode's ending is foreshadowing for a genuine troll ending to the series next episode I might even have to rate this show higher.

[up][up]I liked the backstory too, but I somehow felt it didn't mesh with what I thought before at the start of the series. And I can agree that it's rather messy. Most fun things about this series are about short things, and not any longer plots.

This episode is even more so. Prez going tsundere over being afraid. Ana convincing everyone to listen to her obvious lie. Akiko admitting she stepped on a branch. Ana, the pedo bear. And Prez's babies hanging on by themselves. The wall scene was just dumb, though.

I find I start to like Akiko over the rest of the girls. Despite being the most aggressive (or at least vocally so), I get the feeling she still cares about him more than the rest of them, and actually considers his feelings.

Oh crud I somehow missed episode 10.

Episode 11: One of the less amusing episodes. Has interesting backstory for Anna though, which unfortunately gets dropped. The show's always been bad at handling its plot threads, but this one was just messy. I'm looking at you weird harem end dream
