You know, pity is not the same thing as love.
You know that, I know that, but for a truly vile person, it doesn't matter as long as it gives them the same sense of self-gratification.
I give Marika points that she has been funny in the chapter about her fear of animals and that was because she was the Butt-Monkey.
I personally find Marika funny, but comedy is the ultimate subjective thing.
speaking of the animals chap, that was a nice Bait-and-Switch with the will.i'm not expecting her disease to be any deadly in the long run.
Secret SignatureWhen was the last time it was even brought up or alluded to?
There are still hints here and there that Marika's not at all well, but it's been as relevant to recent Nisekoi as Kagura's weakness to sunlight in Gintama, meaning not for a while.
Luckily Raku's web of black market organ traffickers means Marika will never have to wait for any life-saving transplant.
I thought that was a Triad and Mafiya thing rather than the Yakuza. :P

It turns out only a heart transplant from Onodera can save Marika. Now that's what you call a win-win situation!
@2339 Yeah, the Raku-Chitoge relationship being central to the plot is probably the biggest reason for my suspicion that she'll win. That said, I'd dispute that there'd be no payoff if Kosaki won. She's the only one who actually likes him on his terms (no abuse, no emotional/physical suffocation, etc.) - that has to count for something.
For Marika...Eh, she's funny in small doses. She starts getting creepy when she gets focus chapters.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.spoilers.
Raku meets Dera at the tree
But also meets the whole gang, Chitoge, Shuu, Haru, Ono Mom etc.
Shuu recuperated the lock btw
Everyone watches the tree's illumination together, however, as they are a couple (interpretation) Chitoge and Raku are the ones that receive the doll, not Onodera
The key/lock theme comes again
Something about their childrens book, Onodera's mom and Haru don't know who or why It's teared apart on some pages
Tachibana says something about a carnival premonition

Secret SignatureUm, I saw the raws and those spoilers are fake.

huh.yay?
Secret SignatureWould have been hilarious if true. I almost would have pitied Onodera.
The person at the trash area was just a garbage collector. Raku tries to confess to Onodera, but he's interrupted by the tree lighting up first and by Onodera's phone ringing afterwards. It's the locksmith, who informs them his grand-daughter kept the locket because she liked it, though the key has been lost. As they go retrieve the locket, Onodera hangs on to Raku's sleeve until the latter takes her hand. Back home, Onodera tells Haru about the date, then asks her if she knows anything about the diary and the missing pages. Their mom tells her it was given to Onodera by another girl, but she can't remember who. At school on the next day, Onodera tells Raku, Chitoge and Marika about the diary. Raku reaffirms to himself that the promise doesn't matter to him anymore and that he likes Onodera. Marika notices the lovey-dovey atmosphere between Raku and Onodera and decides to enact her next plan.

You know, I liked the fake spoilers far better.
I'm sorry NDC, my ship wins this round.
Oh, I don't mind the ships, like I said, all girls are too good for Raku. It's just the fake spoilers sounded more... interesting regardless. More colorful, in a way. These are just Raku being Raku and all that.
Thanks for them anyway.
Eh... Kinda? I mean, yeah, temporary victory, but setting up a long term loss if the book isn't hers. There's no way they're really throwing away the promise thing, after all.

No problem. Well, what are you gonna do? I doubt Raku's going to change much anytime soon, if ever.
@Arha: I'm willing to bet there's a hundred more layers of deception and coincidences connected to the book and the past in general. As a counterpoint, Onodera apparently losing the key might mean it could show up again much later and give hers special relevance.
NDC: Although I see why some would dislike Raku (dear God is his skull thick), I fail to understand why the girls are too good for him.
Chapter out. Ah, I misread the raws regarding the key, it was with the pendant. How convenient.

I don't like stalkers. Jerkasses are okay, but only if they're funny. Marika isn't.
