[up][up] That gag didn't involve Painting the Fourth Wall at all. No conflict that I can see.

"For The Audience Not The Characters" is far, far too broad. Just reading the title makes me think of stuff like As You Know, which is... well, for the audience's benefit and not the characters'.

Calling crowner in favor of Painting the Medium.

In the textual medium of the webcomic, readers cannot determine pronunciation, except Funetik Aksent is in play. The dwarf is always written with alternate spelling for his sentences. Windy was not spelt based on the sound of the word. Therefore, the readership was uncertain if the canyon would have air currents or if it had twists and turns. The dwarf made the mistake that many readers were making, based on how they were reading the name.

The speech bubbles are written for pronunciation, so when a word is a written homophone, it gets treated as a verbal homophone.

[up] That's Rule of Perception, but there is no Painting the Fourth Wall going on. If it were Painting the Fourth Wall, they might have changed the font to indicate pronunciation, for example.

Is there a pressing reason no one has even switched the article over to the new title yet?

I think it's the 900 wicks.

A journey of a 1000 miles begins with single step.

The page has been moved to Painting the Medium.

The wicks still need updating though.

Is there any cleanup going on here?

With 900 wicks, should we make a Special Efforts thread?

Probably. We shouldn't just leave them out there. That's how more problems happen down the line.

I've moved a some wicks and I'm willing to do more, but I really don't plan on doing all of them by myself.

Also, folks need to make sure that they are transferring only good examples and moving bad examples to correct tropes.

Eh, I guess it's too late for me to complain that Painting On The Medium doesn't parse grammatically in my mind, but it's hard to argue with it being the only option with positive votes.

Visual Inflection is still in YKTTW, if it helps the people moving links/examples.

[up]And it needs examples. And thereafter, hats.

I fear all the drama going on in the last few months is distracting people from routine maintenence jobs.

I just fixed a few wicks, and I'll keep working on it some, but we really need more help here.

Just wondering, if the title is now changed, then have the examples been changed too? I would like to take a look at the page if nobody has, but can somebody explain to me what "modifying the presentation of a story in order to convey information about the story" really means, because I want to be entirely sure about what I'm doing.

Down to 384 wicks now (and my hands are tired). Made Of Win Archive Late 2010 is edit-locked and cannot be fixed.

Finished the job, with help from Star Valkyrie.

To whoever replies to the lock request: May you consider giving Star Valkyrie an award for wiki cleanup, if I may suggest so? They've been helping here strongly, and not jsut on this page.
