You are aware that Transformers Prime takes place in the same continuity, right?
Will the transhumanist future have catgirls? Does Japan still exist? Well, there is your answer. — UnknownNo it doesn't. They're linked via marketing, but canonically they are way too different.
Bleye knows Sabers.Sadly, Hasbro currently disagrees with you.
Although that could change in the future; after all, Takara used to say that Cybertron wasn't in the same continuity as Armada and Energon, but they currently say it is...
Will the transhumanist future have catgirls? Does Japan still exist? Well, there is your answer. — UnknownCheck out the Transformers Aligned Universe page for information on that. Hasbro designed both to work together via a unified Series Bible but also gave the individual creative teams room to make each series their own. It's a lot more involving than merely "The marketing says so" like say Batman Gotham Knight and The Dark Knight Saga (No matter how you look at it, Knight was a cash-in and Nolan had no involvement with it). I'm actually surprised how violent some people get with this idea, it makes perfect sense to me how they are invoking Broad Strokes in that not every piece is going to fit together but you can still see the overall picture.
I loved the game, it set out to give us a fun experience and there were moments evenly scattered throughout where I was laughing with glee. Smashing Megatron was fun, but I also liked the help given when Optimus was cornered by the Leapers. Jazz's foray into the Insecticon hive was appropriately creepy, playing as Bruticus was dumb destruction done right and the final level was just a great deal of chaotic carnage as you switch both sides.

I really felt connected to the characters. It felt so wrong to fight Bruticus as Jazz, because I like the Combaticons. On the other hand, it felt wrong to rampage against the Autobots.I'm holding onto hope that Shockwave is still alive, since we Never Found the Body.

Loving this game so far. It's like the first game, but way way better. The controls, the gameplay, the weaponry, the upgrades, everything just works.
Liking the small touches too - like being able to pet Lazerbeak as Soundwave causing him to dance about in glee, but him biting your finger if you try to pet him as Megatron.
My name is Addy. Please call me that instead of my username. The game itself is pretty good, but a lot of critics are giving it low scores: Gamespot even gave it a 6.0 on the grounds of it not changing anything and some glitches. What gives?

I don't know why the review sites have it out for the War For Cybertron series. It doesn't matter. If they're willing to praise COD for being the greatest game ever (Which certainly changes very little from installment to installment), then their opinion is totally invalid when it comes to War For Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron.
Gamespot is only two steps behind IGN on the bullshit meter. Seriously.
-Insert TL;DR rant here-
... And that's everything that's wrong with game journalism.
Bleye knows Sabers.Yeah, Gamespot completely suck. This is the site for whom 8.5 is an incredible score, the standards for which would get most games a 10 elsewhere. Almost nothing ever hits 9.0 anymore. Everywhere else is more generous, generally about 80%.

I've not tried yet, but I certainly want to. I tend not to stick with shooters long, but I'm loving the multiplayer so far and want to keep at it.
One question - why no individual death match? Surely that's the most basic mode?
My name is Addy. Please call me that instead of my username.Nah. These days team deathmatch is considered the "basic" mode for shooters.
Seeing a far less "campy" Grimlock was interesting.
I'm confused why Grimlock doesn't go "Me Grimlock", assuming the DS War for Cybertron games are canon. Though his speech patterns and cleverness probably say a lot for his strength.
With a "0", not an "O".This game is the official introduction to Grimlock, the DS game is just a fan-pleasing appearance.
The more I play this, the more I love it. Such a pity I don't know anyone else who has the game, though online is still a lot of fun. More modes would have been great, but the ones we have are still terrific.

I'm impressed so far, never was a Transformers fan but man is this game engaging. I'm normally not that interested in Shooting games like Call Of Duty, but something about the concept of Transformers just gives this TPS a unique flair to spark my interest.
...okay, COD is an FPS, but the general genre is still the same.
"Shake the dust." - Anis MojganiI really, really loved this game. It just oozes epic. Dat final level, man, it just gets me pumped every time I play it or see footage of it.
That being said, for goodness sake, somebody please make a video of the Optimus/Megatron fight set to The Touch!
Favorite stages:
Cliffjumper and Jazz: Very fun. Nice change of pace from the run 'n' gun.
Vortex: My favorite level. Nice variety of approach. Multiple routes and weapons. You can tunnel fight, or rain fiery death from above. My overall favorite.
Swindle: Also fun change of pace, environment is a bigger threat than the enemies. Maybe I just love the grapple, I'm not sure.
Bruticus: This one was a blast. Does a great job of making you feel all powerful an' stuff. A little short, but I think that's a benefit, actually.(See below)
Unfortunately, it wasn't all great. Don't get me wrong, not a single part of the game is something I would ever label as "bad", just a little... lacking, compared to the other stages.
Not-so-favorite stages:
Grimlock: ~Raises shield to deflect incoming flamewar~ I wanted to like Grimlock, really I did. He plays almost identically to Bruticus, and that was all kinds of fun. I don't think my problem was with the character himself, but rather the stage. Where, in the similar stage before, enemies came in wave after wave eager to be crushed beneath my lumbering feet, here they attack in small clutches and infrequently. This stages features more exploration and atmosphere than combat. The character moves so slowly that parts of the level(long tunnels and combat in wide-open rooms) start to feel a bit tedious. I guess my main complaint is a waste of potential.
Anyone have any advice on that part with Cliffjumper and the bomb?
I'm Charlie Owens, good night and good luck. PSNID: CEOIII 1117You can play as Dinobots right? I would like that
CEO, I made judicious use of cloaking insta-kills and a scatterblaster. Remember, Cloaking drains over time and refills from the point you turn it off. It reactivates at 75% recharge. If you only stayed cloaked for a few seconds at a time, you can chain-cloak.
Move fast, cloak, kill, decloak, pick a new target.
If the shotgunners are chasing you, duck around a pillar to break line of sight, cloak, and immediately turn around and get behind them as round the corner to assassinate them.
I'm actually interested in seeing what happens on Earth in this continuity.
