Alien Versus Predator might be a better example.
I haven't gotten permission yet, but will send a message to the artist. Crossing my fingers!
Ah, so it was Antonio. I didn't have your name on hand as I was writing it, so I wasn't positive. Glad I got it right.
I think it's pretty good. I'm open to suggestions (and we can always leave any others on the ImageLinks.Evil Versus Evil page).
Fight smart, not fair.I'd argue that the Aliens aren't really evil so much as predatory (Are they even sentient? Like, enough to know about good or evil?)
Don't get me wrong, they are dangerous, but so is a hippo, and hippos aren't usually considered evil.

Alien Versus Predator is an awesome series (the video games, at least), but Darth Vader has more street recognition than the predator, and by using a Crossover image, it would highlight the trope rather than an existing media franchise.
The image is a collaboration between a penciler, inker, and colorist, so getting permission may take awhile.
Thanks for the images, Tropetown! I'm glad you like the idea.

You have a point, Ghilz, but the animalistic nature of the xenomorphs is more likely to hit readers long after the visceral reaction the creatures inspire. In the meantime, they're thinking, "evil!", which suits the nature of the trope. That's not even getting into the possibilities of the xenomorph Hive Mind raised in the Expanded Universe and the clearly sentient nature of the alien queen.
I'm not a fan of the crossover image. This isn't really a trope for crossovers.
Rhymes with "Protracted."True, but it doesn't necessarily exclude them either. As long as both sides are evil, the trope's interests are being served. That being said, if the Crossover nature of the image proves too distracting, an in-universe example of Evil Versus Evil would be needed instead. Aliens Versus Predator, as suggested by Tropetown, would work in that case.

Vader versus Maul works too! They're both iconic. Maul's face is somewhat obscured in the image, though, and the dialogue bubbles are distracting. Is there another image from that issue with a closer angle on the two?
I oppose the Aliens. Because to most people (and most people who can reconize what an Alien is do so because of the movies, not expanded universe stuff), Aliens are no more evil than a Lion. You could put a Lion Vs Darth Vader, and it would fit the trope just as well (which is to say, not at all). Heck, the predator themselves are a loose fit, since they only fight people/things that pause a challenge to them, making them more Blood Knight then absolute evil. They avoid killing unarmed opponents, the sick, and the pregnant even (though they do ambush people without warning, but really, they skirt awfully close to Blue-and-Orange Morality). Heck, they don't even seek revenge if someone beats one of their own.
Antonio, "more street cred" isn't really part of the Image Pickin' standards, but I admit he has the Obviously Evil look down pat. I do admit, I somewhat dislike the current, merely because it's too zoomed out. I dislike the second AVP because it looks like the humanoid is defending the woman.
Fight smart, not fair.Good points by everyone. I suppose we can discount the alien (not visibly sentient enough to be utterly evil) and the predator (too Blue-and-Orange Morality). That leaves us with Maul and Vader.
I should have used a phrase other than "street cred." What I meant was that the characters had a good chance of being recognized by a majority of readers. It's not an official criterion for image picking, but it certainly can't hurt. Maul is something of an Ensemble Dark Horse in The Phantom Menace and Obviously Evil to boot, so he's a good fit. Vader, of course, is so memetic that recognition won't be an issue at all.
With all that in mind, I'd like to throw my support behind the Vader vs. Maul image Ghilz just posted, which I like because of its stark composition and the way both characters' faces are very clearly visible.

Talk about killjoy... The Vader Vs Alien (Which, might I remind you, was born as the personification of rape...) art would make for a kickass image, period. With that said, has the autor replied?
"We are not a stuffy encyclopedic wiki. We're a buttload more informal".No reply yet. I find both images badass - whichever one isn't chosen should go on an image links page.
Ghilz, for some reason your Vader vs. Maul 2 pic is redirecting to a Disney website.
The first AVP pic works fine for me.
Except again , AVP ain't much of an example.
Nice. At 300 px.

Not bad.
"We are not a stuffy encyclopedic wiki. We're a buttload more informal"."Wait, they've both got the same color scheme, how am I supposed to know which one is more evil?"
Fight smart, not fair.Is that a caption or an actual complaint lol ?
Crown Description:
Nominations for replacement images:
A newer troper has asked me to start this thread for him, I hope he finds it okay. His proposal is this image of Darth Vader vs Alien.
I would like to offer my support, as I feel that the scale is better. However, I do not know if the artist has okayed the use of this image. Antonio (?), do you have permission?
