Big patch to Psychonauts

So, the Steam version of Psychonauts just got a 2 and a half gigabyte patch, adding Mac support, Steam Achievements, and the Meat Circus level has been modified to be easier. What does everyone think?

This game is on Steam? i mean, ON PC?

Are they about to make a sequel or something? Because I can't see much reason to work on it...

I mean, the mac port alone would make sense, but the other stuff...that seems to be there just to say "hey, people who already bought this. Remember that it exists."

Maybe a remake, like Metal Gear Solid and Silent Hill

One of the guys said he was ready to make Psychonauts 2, but that was a long time ago. I suspect something like that might be happening now.

Psychonauts II would be AWESOME.

Yeah, I'm thinking a sequel as well. It was Tim Schaffer who said he'd like to do one, so it's Word of God that there's interest in doing one.

It's been on Steam for years to whomever asked.

One of those misleading desciptions of games I read for Psychonauts talked about the open-ended gameplay and going into people's minds, so I expected to be able to freely go around going into and exploring various people's minds, and was disappointed when the game turned out to be pretty linear. If there's a sequel I hope they make it more open-ended.

I wonder what they did to Meat Circus to easy-ify it? Maybe they fixed that jump glitch...

I can't even find the game on Live marketplace anymore :/

Just only noticed that when coming across the Joystiq article.

I really hope that means that Psychonauts 2 is in the works. Oh, and the store page now has Double Fine as publisher and developer, given that Majesco has returned the rights not too long ago.

With those achievements now, I think I'll play it again.

It would be awesome to see another Psychonauts, but Tim Schaefer saying he's "ready" to make it doesn't mean someone is making it.

Still, actually doing something with Psychonauts is pretty cool. I'd wonder if, considering their recent success with downloadable titles, we may see a smaller scale project in that universe in the same vein.

Well, that explains the download when I tried to replay it. O look, it has achievements!

This new patch has to mean something.

there's an iOS app Memory Vault Viewer for it too now. With new commentaries.

This dropped the same day as the patch, but I can understand if it got lost in the shuffle.

Apparently, the current verison of Psychonauts doesn't work with the current version of my Mac OSX. Argh. And unless there's a free way for me to upgrade, I'm not playing it on my own computer any time soon.

Say what? Meat Circus easier? Can I please get 200 CCs of that into a non-Steam version, stat?

This punching minigame is too damn hard. I can't do the round where you lose points for missing. :/

How about an HD version of Psychonauts for Xbox Live and PSN? It would have more modern looking shaders, better textures, and slightly enhanced models.

I've beaten the game 100% already. I might have to try playing it again now that there are achievements...
