[up] Right? And make it so that Walpurgisnacht is pummeled to a bloody mushy pulp by Megas. By the way, is it safe to say that there's a significant number of people who hate Puella Magi Madoka Magica? Because this would probably be a Godsend to them, am I wrong?

And have Cristina Valenzuela voice the Captain Ersatz version of Homura.

And hopefully, Cristina Vee won't mind voicing a parody of one of her characters...would she?

@ RN 452:

And then Coop destroys Mitakihara again

Don't you mean New Jersey?

Also, make it so that the Kyubey parody gets incinerated or zapped or something into dust. Because everybody hates Kyubey. And also voiced by Cassandra Lee, whom I hope doesn't mind voicing a parody of one of her characters as well.

Don't you mean New Jersey?

If you stop to think New Jersey and Mitakihara have a lot in common, things like being destroyed in a regular basis (the difference is that Mitakihara's destruction is spread through the timelines while New Jersey don't]]), both have their share of weird stuff happening, technological advanced (how do you explain NJ getting reconstructed every episode?)

If I had editing skills, I would pick this vĂdeo and edit placing our favorite ferret-marshmallow-satan thing in there. But I could try writing a fanfic.

[up] OMG, I love that clip! [lol] [lol] [lol] I love it so much, I'll post it here!

Because it is that big of a gem. smile

Well, when you put it like that, I guess you do make a very valid point there.

Hey, do you think that, if given the chance, Cristina Valenzuela and Cassandra Lee would "reprise" their roles from PMMM when Megas XLR does do that PMMM parodying episode? Like how Peter Cullen and Frank Welker "reprised" their roles as two warring robot leaders from that episode taking place in an alien robot planet?

Dudes...

It's happened.

Stupid-Ass Snyder has left CN.

http://variety.com/2014/tv/news/stuart-snyder-out-at-turner-amid-shuffle-under-new-tbs-boss-1201127256/

Somebody tweet this info to whoever's trying to revive Megas XLR (can't remember their names).

Please.

Because this doesn't just scream "golden opportunity".

No.

This is shouting to the heavens "Hey, man! I'm a golden opportunity just waiting to be taken advantage of! So go ahead and take advantage of me!!!"

Was Snyder in charge when they scuttled Megas? I think it was either right before or right after he got in charge.

George Krstic and I follow each other on Twitter - we've discussed D&D, kitbashing, and of course Megas (I don't know him personally; he just makes an effort to connect with fans on Twitter). I'll be sure to drop a tweet or two his way.

Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.

Oh please do. I mean, how much more of a golden opportunity can this be? Someone would be crazy not to take advantage of this.

I may not have a Twitter account, but what the hell.

[up][up][up]To answer question, Synder was the man that took over in 07 after the Boston incident. He was the man that kept pushing CN Real.

[up][up][up][up] No, Snyder did not cancel Megas. That travesty of a decision would be in the hands of Samples.

Looks like that YT account was closed off by the admins thanks to notices from Cartoon Network due to copyright violations.

If I can only watch it again on DVD.

The scarcity led me to torrent the whole series long ago. It and SWAT Kats are the only western series i have downloaded presently.

So besides some DMV and Puella Madoka hate (neither of which I fully understand)... I was just watching this again. I've made it a tradition to rewatch this clip any time I have hot dogs for lunch or dinner.

But they might make it more "mature"? Ew.

It did wonders for Samurai Jack. I hope to see more cartoons brought back in this way.

[up]Megas had a brutal Sailor Moon parody episode, and PMMM is the most popular magical girl series since then.

[up][up]Shouldn't the stunt Coop pulled be considered illegal?

Anyways, count me as another person who is disappointed with this show's mysteriously short run. I'm sure it could've easily appealed to young boys.

I think a big issue the show had was that it skewed too old at times. A lot of the jokes were referencing older shows or things like the DMV, stuff the TT Go demo would be unfamiliar with.

Yeah. It was a great show, but not a great fit for a network that's primarily aimed at hooking children, not teens and young adults.

Discrepancies between the network's target demo and the show's can be lethal, even to a really good show that consistently brings in ratings. This is especially true of cartoons, where much of the revenue for the show comes from two places: merchandise and ad revenue.

Megas is extremely toyetic, so in theory merch wouldn't be a problem. Except it is, because its main appeal isn't to an audience that buys toys. Similarly, advertising becomes an issue when the show's core audience isn't going to be that invested in whatever the network's primary advertisers are hawking.

Many of these issues are less prominent today as the means of producing and developing shows outside of a network have improved. Megas XLR likely would have fared much better as a Netflix original series or a web animation than it did on Cartoon Network in the 90's.

I don't know, a lot of cartoons use 'adult life' jokes. Rocko's Modern Life and Spongebob Squarepants both have main characters with day jobs and bill problems and whatnot. As a kid, I knew enough about the DMV to get the jokes because everyone used the same 'The DMV sucks' joke. And I think even TT Go used the 'driver's ed' plot.

I think the difference is more the type of comedy. Rocko and Spongebob both use slapstick, with some of the absurd and 'grown-up' jokes mixed in. Megas XLR was all about the absurd, with the closest thing to slapstick being some of the robot fights.

Which one was that? I remember the Power Rangers parody with the S-Force (same episode as the clip).

[up][up][up]There's an interesting thought. What if the show was on adult swim instead? I think the show is already fine as it is, but it would reach its target audience more easily on AS.

I make it a habit to constantly bug them about in on their Show Suggestion page (Done it for at least a year.). Now they've given me cause to believe they can do it.
