That...is not what I expected at all.
I do want to point out that the article admits that the trope namer isn't even an example of the trope. Support a rename.
My troper wallI Thought It Meant... well, actually I don't know what I thought it meant, but I certainly expected something that actually had to do with Las Vegas. Combined with that pitiful usage count, and it clearly needs some help - renaming, or possibly merging, as this seems similar to some other tropes.
I Thought It Meant waking up after a night of substance abuse with no idea where you are or what happened previously. Definitely underperforming, too.
Wake Up Kidnapped, maybe?
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.I thought this would be about waking up married with no memory of what happened last night. Yeah, not a good name.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickWait.. does this actually happen in The Hangover?
Don't they wake up in their hotel room under their own power? So they weren't moved there by anyone, they just ended up there.
This might need a split and a YTTKW. One for being knocked out and moved someplace, and one for being knocked out / drugged out / spaced out / collapsed and waking up and finding out that shenanigans have taken place even if you haven't moved.

Which tropes were you thinking of?
If we rename, Knocked Out And Moved gets my support.
I don't know if it warrants a split, I think the important idea is that while the POV character is knocked out, some important things happen to advance the plot, which they have no control over. So if we go with this definition it doesn't matter where they wake up. How does that sound?

Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right, here I am...I was responding to Shima's "I thought this would be about waking up married with no memory of what happened last night" which is The Hangover's whole plot.
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!I agree on the rename. Possibly Waking Up In Another Place? Moved While Unconscious?
I agree we should rename it. It's certainly a common enough trope that more people should be able to find it.
So do we need a split, or just a rename? What's the best name so far?

Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right, here I am...Yeah, I definitely thought this was going to be "woke up married to a stranger with limited memories of the night before."
Bump?
Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right, here I am...Should this be merged with What Did I Do Last Night?, or declared a Sub-Trope?
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Oh geez, we have that too?
I think they're different tropes. I thought Waking Up In Vegas would be What Did I Do Last Night?, based on the title, but What Did I Do Last Night? seems to be comedic, while Waking Up In Vegas isn't.
I said above that if I were in charge of the thing, I'd make Waking Up In Vegas to be a plot device/scene transition kind of trope. So What Did I Do Last Night? would be the comedic subtrope. Thoughts?
Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right, here I am...There is now a page action crowner for this trope here. Feel free to add options as you see fit.
Personally, I do not think that Waking Up In Vegas should be merged with What Did I Do Last Night? since as Merlo pointed out, one is dramatic and the other is comedic. I do think they are related tropes though.

There is now an alternative titles crowner for this trope here. Feel free to add names as you see fit.
"irhgT nm0w tehre might b ea lotof th1nmgs i dont udarstannd, ubt oim ujst goinjg to keepfollowing this pazth i belieove iN !!!!!1 dMoved While Unconscious and Waking Up In Another Place appear to the be best names, in my opinion. I took a look at the examples and only a fraction involved kidnapping or knocking out.
How about Waking Up Elsewhere?
But yeah, has to be renamed... not only is it confusing it's... well, utterly inane. "Named for a song that has nothing to do with the trope. Which also has nothing to do with what the song sounds like."
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them. This is close to consensus but not there yet. Anymore votes for a name?
Oppression anywhere is a threat to democracy everywhere.Waking Up Elsewhere is 6:0 in favor with everything else in the red. I'd say that's consensus.
Yeah, unwritten rule number one: follow all the unwritten procedures. - CamacanOK this was my first time renaming/moving a page. Wicks are done, so I think only subpages are left to move. But since I've never done this before can somebody please double-check it's OK?
Oppression anywhere is a threat to democracy everywhere.Your rename looks good to me after checking it over. The only things that still needed to be done that I could see were setting the correct page type * , making Waking Up In Vegas a redirect for Waking Up Elsewhere, and putting notes about the change on the Renamed Tropes page and in the renamed tropes thread.
I am not sure if you sent a report to move the discussion page on Waking Up In Vegas to Waking Up Elsewhere, but I figured it was worth doing that again just in case you did not.
That being said, the only thing you really need to do now is make a note in the renamed tropes thread. The other stuff has already been taken care of and most of that was pretty minor anyway.

Is it just me or does the title make it seem like the trope refers to funny things happening in Las Vegas? It's actually much broader than that. It's not bringing in a lot of referrals either, so there's no issue there. And it's linked to in only 18 articles.
