Well, this:
And... well, that's about it.
Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone.Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with me improves when it starts following Cooper, and gets really good once we actually get to Twin Peaks. I still wish Lynch had made a sequel though, with the exception of two things nothing in the film was a suprise, it was just showing what we'd already learned about Laura Palmer.
Am I a good man or a bad man?I'll second Captain America The First Avenger. The first half was quite good. Then we got to the USO scene and it went downhill from there.
Looking for some stories?Birdemic's second half for obvious reasons
same with Eraserhead
Probably the main thing I didn't like about the second half of Captain America was they were fighting a splinter group rather than actual Nazis.
I went to watch Midnight In Paris the other day without never even hearing it's name before. The beginning was so boring I actually left the showroom for the first time ever just to get away for a bit.
The movie picked up after the MC went back in time for the first time and by the end I was very impressed.

#IceBearForPresidentCrouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. It was kind of boring, until Lo came into the story.
Pages Needing ImagesFor me I Am Legend. Loved the opening when it was just Will Smith and his dog. I didn't actually mind the CGI monsters too much and Will Smith was just amazing. But when they introduced other characters it just deflated and became a more typical action film in my eyes and the ending was just a massive cop out.

Nthing Hancock.
Though I may be lynched for proclaiming to like it... The Phantom Menace? Heck, The two first prequels?
TPM: Remove most of the tatooine segment (And Jar-Jar), and it's not a bad movie. It's nowhere near the originals, but it is still enjoyable.
AotC: Remove the part before Geonosis.
Truthfully I actually liked all the prequels except the second over the original, because the original had none of the fine points the others have.
Had the first quarter not been so dull, and the final quarter not been written like a stand-alone,this could've aged great. Instead it causes it to fall into all the problems the prequels have, you can just tell the editors didn't stop Lucas on this one so much
Perfectly aware everyone's gonna call heresy on this
Luminous beings are we, not this crude matterTerry Pratchett´s Going Postal. At the end of the first half I thought they had ruined a brilliant book. At the end of the second half I realized that while it wasn't quite the same as the book, they had managed to make quite a good adventure film. Can't forgive them for ruining Archhancellor Ridcully though. They even managed to get him right in Hogfather.
The Deer Hunter's act two and three
though act one is crucial and i cant find a way to trim it
A friend and I were very divided on Blindness. Here is how each of us summed it up.
- Myself: Loved the first half, hated the second half.
- The friend: Liked the first half, loved the second half.
And a pair of 2007 films from my perspective:
- The Assassination Of Jesse James: good first third, boring middle, great last third.
- Lust Caution: boring first half, great second half.
Also agree with whoever said Revenge of the Sith. Average first half, excellent second half (and the audience that I saw it did not have a problem with the "NOOOOOOOOO!" scene).

More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/I'm seconding The Invention Of Lying, as I think the religious satire became overly obtrusive by the end. While yes, that satire was more or less the point of the movie, it wasn't done well, kind of obnoxiously. You want a film that does religious satire right? Life Of Brian.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle. The Invention Of Lying started as a clever What-If comedy about the protagonist who discovers lying and the consequences of it. What it turned into is a tame commentary on Christianity.

100% agreed.
Magical Mystery Tour. Specifically, the half with music. (No one said that we had to be linear about this.)
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.Ironically, the first thing that sprung to mind was not that I thought Hancock was an example (I personally don't think that of it), but that I knew straight away that someone would say it. And I was correct. Several times.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. It's a pretty obvious choice though. For most people, if you don't outright dislike the movie, you thought it was good up until that one specific point. And everyone knows which point it is specifically.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.Agreeing about The Invention Of Lying. Once the main character gets used to lying, it becomes pretty clear that there's nothing he can't get away with, and things get boring.
Reverse the sentiment for Anchorman The Legend Of Ron Burgundy. First half was kinda so-so with a few really funny parts, but things take a sudden turn into gut-bustingly hilarious about the time the newsman street brawl starts up.
"It takes an idiot to do cool things, that's why it's cool" - Haruhara HarukoAgreed. I thought Ron Burgundy was bloody hilarious throughout!

From Dusk 'til Dawn.
I liked in better when RobRod was playing it as a gritty true crime story. When it comes to the part where Quentin Tarantino sucks on Salma Hayek's foot I turn off the TV.
Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue. The first part is good, but when it gets to the whole "You've just got to believe!" bit, I want to start throwing things at the screen.
Also, Return to Never Land is way better before Jane goes to Never Land.
Fantastic Weapon Generator! And now, Disney's Babes in Toyland. The first half is pretty fun and cute. Then the characters actually get to toyland and everything falls apart. It really doesn't help that the toymaker is a Jerk Sue.
Fantastic Weapon Generator!Batman Returns. It's always driven me nuts how Batman gets maybe five minutes of screentime during the first hour, but the second half is more than enough to make up for it.
What was there to like about either half of that film?
