Pretty much yeah.

But mostly the couple that forms the 7th.

The Drrr example of this is kind of an arms race of stalking, emotional blackmail and obsession.

Though it should be noted it's actually a Yandere love triangle, not just a couple.

If that's the case it sounds kind of like a hindrance to the story...

I guess Mirai Nikki could possibly count. Of course, Yuno is still way way more Yandere than pretty much anyone else ever, but it's not like Yukki is exactly "normal". Mad Love indeed.

The Durarara example definitely counts. Too bad that they are not only side characters but also annoying.

You don't really tend to get mutual Yandere-ism very often, simply because the whole concept is defined largely as a one-sided thing. Yukiteru and Yuno are probably the closest example outside of Drrr I can think of.

Yuuko and Haguro from Wolf Guy Wolfen Crest seem like this.

At first. Then it gets really creepy. Haguro Dou from that series is such a Yandere that Yuno Gasai herself would be terrified of him.

The kicker is that they are not Yandere for each other, but for the main character.

While having extremely rough sex with each other, they think about the main characters Werewolf form while orgasming, and Ryuuko is just plain batshit by jacking herself off to a columbine styled shooting.

It gets worse, however. When Haguro Dou first sees the main characters wolf form, he comes so obsessed he Carves the Kanji for mutt on the back of his hand with a knife, beats the ever living crap out of one of his henchman, Chiba, bites his tongue off and rapes him, leaving him with fatal injuries, just for talking to the main character, Akira Inugami.

Later on, he finds out about Akira Inugami's Morality Pet, a kind teacher named Aoshika. He kidnaps her, has a bunch of his goons gang rape her, rapes her himself, uses a drug on her that makes her Enjoy every second of it, and puts it on a stream site knockoff of Youtube, just to get Inugami to come after him.

He is messed up in the head to the point where his Yandere Girlfriend is afraid of him.

Seriously though, they are some of the most messed up in the head yandere's I've ever seen, and I read Mirai Nikki.

Yuno Gasai might of been the Goddess Of Yandere.

But Haguro pretty much blasts her off her throne with a planet destroying asteroid.

She's still the most successful Yandere though.

[X] come out on top as the biggest Magnificent Bastard in a battle full of them
[X] manipulate the main character/love interest into killing his best friends
[X] have on-screen sex with him
[X] become God
[X] end up "happily together forever" with both of you being God

Still not the most Horrifiyng, though. In fact, Yuno felt mostly Narm Charm to me. The Terror factor behind them really makes a Yandere most effective to me. I didn't even find her that scary during her worst fits.

Haguro manages to to make me feel really uncomfortable. While he's not successful persay, on a High Octane Nightmare Fuel level, he is so, so , so much more horrifying than Yuno to me. Dosen't help that he thinks he represents all of humanity.

Flay Allster was a very successful Yandere for a while.... man if it hadnt been for outside events keeping them separate that could of been interesting.
