Should be in universe only.
I would slip a poetic reference to some real person's eyes under Literature, and axe the Real Life section altogether.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.I think if people are noted for beautiful eyes by history/historical figures, then it should be relevant.
Stuff like Spoony...yeah, no.
Read my stories! My only problem with noting people with beatiful eyes in history is, well, what makes their opinion any more valid than the guy on the street? If they made it known in a book or poem, hey, we have a literature section for that. Otherwise, we just have people spouting off about pretty eyes.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.I don't see where it says that it needs to be a plot or characterization point. It just needs to be obviously pointed out within the work that the character has notably beautiful eyes.
I did chop a number of the Real Life "examples" that were simply statements "X has beautiful eyes." I left those where there was some sort of actual mention by someone other than the editor who added it, like Elijah Wood being teased about it, the allegations that Cat on a Hot Tin Roof was filmed in color in part because of Paul Newman's and Elizabeth Taylors's eye color, and such

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Where's the trope if they don't need to be a plot or characterisation point? The page would already burn if it happened to list characters who simply have been mentioned to have ginormous knockers, mind you.
Don't we have a trope for characters who, in universe, are specifically noted to have large boobs?
Its one thing for a character to have trait X, its something different for other characters to specifically comment on it.
No, we have
- Gag Boobs for when breasts are the core element of a gag such as Marshmallow Hell
- Buxom Is Better for when bigger boobs THE thing that makes a female more attractive in-universe
- and Boobs Of Steel for when the female character who kicks most ass also sports the largest rack
to name a few. But as far as I know, there is no page for simply characters with large breasts, or for character reactions concerning breasts. Unless you count Buxom Is Better as a character reaction trope.

I think Real Life examples should be limited to stuff like Betty Davis.
"Betty Davis Eyes"

Betty Davis would actually end up under music because "Betty Davis Eyes" is a song.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. Dick"Bette Davis Eyes" is a song from the 70's about Bette Davis's eyes. She was a model in that era known for her beautiful eyes.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickBette Davis. Legendary actress from the 1930s. The song is quoted at the top of the article.
I'm not sure the song was actually calling them particularly beautiful so much as pointing out that they were large and quite distinctive. "All the boys think she's a spy: she's got Bette Davis eyes!"
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.Yeah, the song was not about Betty Davis.
There was an actress Betty Davis who was famous, particularly during WWII era. She was known for her expressive eyes.
So much so that the term developed: "eyes like Betty Davis" which eventually became "Betty Davis eyes", which was a pre-existing term used by the song in question.
Thus I'd argue that Betty Davis was a Real Life example. The girl the song is about is a fictional song example, who is compared to the real life example of Betty Davis.
From the trope description, What Beautiful Eyes! is when the attractiveness of a character's eyes serve as a plot or a character point within the text (ie. the whole "you have your mother's eyes" thing from Harry Potter, or Gauron's creepy-ass obsession with Sousuke's eyes in Full Metal Panic).
You would think that, with a rare exception or two (Someone's eyes inspiring a poem or song, I guess. Or the news' obsession with the Afghan Girl's eyes. I don't know.), this wouldn't lend itself to real life examples. You'd be right, as a good deal of real life examples appear to be a singluar troper gushing over an actor or internet celeberty's eyes (Spoony? really?)
So, the question is does this require simple pruning, or should we erase the Real Life section altogether?
