By now, the 200cc version of N64 Rainbow Road is just as short as completing SNES Rainbow Road.

I don't think people are up in arms over a 200 CC difficulty. I already put it under Harder Than Hard because the insane speeds WILL fuck you over if you don't know how to handle the curves at high speeds or know when to brake.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.

150cc is a cake walk for me after only three days of playing the game when it first came out... =/

That's a longshot if I've ever heard one. 200cc is not a bringer of Broken Base anyway you look at it. At best, you have people saying "Awesome! More challenge!" and others saying "Yup, ain't touching that mode with a 10 foot pole", but no hate.
"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."
I loved MK DS, MK Wii, and MK 8. Why can't we enjoy 'em all?
