Radical Right or Radical Leftists - whose jackboot would you prefer?

This is a theoretical question. We've all been grumbling about the far right for so long that it's easy to forget that the left has a spotty record, too.

But seriously, it depends on the nuance more than the purported side.

The Left, since they're the ones who want to get rid of the death penalty.

In any case, I hate this question, but must answer it anyhow. The far right makes Christianity look bad, and ultimately drives people away, whilst simultaneously putting forward mass hysteria based garble.

On the other hand, at least the far left is slightly less dangerous, given the nature of their ideals. But they are lo, still prone to hypocritical and dangerous ideals.

Given the two, I suppose that I would rather have the radical left.

Don't they both pretty much end the same way?

Radical Science means the likes of Wirths and Heim, so definitely not.

There are too many different types of dystopias for me to simply choose "left" or "right".

Either one would probably see me as a suspicious citizen for my prudishness alone. So I can't even choose based on my own vested interest in the matter.

If I had to choose, I...would rebel, because a life under the logical extreme of either ideology sounds like hell on earth to me. Better to die endeavoring to establish something better.

Can I choose to not choose? Or choose my own destruction?

If not and I absolutely had to pick...left I guess. I hate the ever living fuck out of radicals of both slants, but may as well pick the side I at least agree with on a few issues...

Left because that means awesome marching music and cool propaganda.

My wife prefers to look at it like a circle instead of a spectrum. At the very far ends, the far left and the far right look an awfully lot like one another. The only difference is if you're rewarding the party or private concerns. I tend to agree with her.

And for what it's worth, I don't like the jackboot of Radical Centrists either. (Actually they worry me a whole lot more as they actually get power).

The Radical Right may be annoying due to their mass numbers and being so loud, but the Radical Left makes up for it by being really, really dumb. Either way, I'm gonna be crushed in between the two, so hey.

I dunno, propaganda in general has lost something since the early '60s. And what if the right-wing dictatorship is backed by Zionists? Israeli military music kicks ass.

Israel is actually a radical leftist tendency, what with its roots in Kibbutzism. And calling the Nazis centrist!? What could be further right than them?

Hmm, let's see… Radical right would mean a theocratic monarchy, where your pitiful self was worth nothing other than your soul's purity as another twig of kindling on the sacred bonfire of your almighty god-emperor's gloriousness, so you would life a short life of utter privation and selfless service before ending up sacrificed alive as a mark of respect. Radical left would mean casting off all marks of personal identity, excellence, thought, or progress for the achievement of an ideal of absolute mediocrity, which would be self-enforced by the people as a whole against any deviants.

Both of those sound about the same, so if I had to pick a jackboot, I'd go for Choice C: Chaos. The oppressors would be external, simply sweeping through whenever they wished to plunder what they wanted from an unadministered rabble, with no care as to what went on in their absence beyond containment.

I somewhat agree. Soviet art and music kick ass.

On a more serious note, it's a little hard to tell what you mean by right wing or left wing extremes because of this. If you're thinking of Left as Stalin and Right as the Nazis/Imperium of Man, I think RWA is why both sides end up looking remarkably similar.
